RACE 1

SOME CHEVRON (2) has solid gate speed and draws outside of a horse that seemingly races well with something to follow. He was well beaten in his latest race start but has had a break and may be better on return in this race. He was able to score three starts ago at Penrith when leading all the way.

IN EXCESS (3) took on a strong race last start won by Hesitate where he was one out one back and ran a very good personal last half sectionally. He has good tactical speed and can likely put himself in a good position to figure in the finish of this race.

VINSANITY (6) draws wide in this race a position he is seemingly familiar with having drawn poorly a number of times in recent times. He was impressive when running into fourth last start after obtaining a good run on the pegs.

MIGHTY JOLT (1) has been impressive in recent outings including a good fourth last start at Marburg in a race that wasn’t run to suit. He draws ideally in this race and has options in the early stages.

SELECTIONS: SOME CHEVRON (2), IN EXCESS (3), VINSANITY (6), MIGHTY JOLT (1)

SUGGESTED BET: MIGHTY JOLT (1) to win.

RACE 2

CAPTAIN BART (3) has been impressive since joining the stable of Seaton Grima. His last run was another good effort when rating good time after sitting behind the leader at Newcastle. He has gate speed and may be able to work to the front in this race before having options.

UDDERLY SWEET (4) started form a wide gate last start and couldn’t quite reel in Miss Bay King Cole there after starting a short priced favourite. His run prior he was able to run past French Fries in the final of the QBRED Breeders Classic Final. He should be hard to beat again if able to secure the right run.

BRAVENTREACHEROUS (6) has the right form having run second to Rubira last start at Albion Park and beating Fate Awaits who finished third in that race. He has very good gate speed but does draw wide in this race with plenty of gate speed drawn underneath him.

OZZIE CORKA (9) was a good second last start after leading at Newcastle in the same race key rival Captain Bart also contested last start. He draws to do no work in the early stages of this race and seemingly should follow through nicely off the back row.

SELECTIONS: CAPTAIN BART (3), UDDERLY SWEET (4), BRAVENTREACHEROUS (6), OZZIE CORKA (9)

SUGGESTED BET: CAPTAIN BART (3) to win.

RACE 3

RYLEE RHAYNE BOW (1) hasn’t won for five starts but has been impressive every time she steps out and hasn’t had the best of luck in recent outings. She ran a great third three starts ago when running on strongly late behind Chynchilla. Her latest start was in The Hayden where she didn’t have much luck and wasn’t beaten far. Looks hard to beat leading in this race.

STENO (7) was always a classy mare but has seemingly gone to another level following her move to the east. Her second behind Eye Keep Smiling three starts ago was exceptional when coming from a long way back in the run in a 1.49.3 mile rate. It is seemingly a difficult track to win up the sprint lane when this class of horse is racing at the track with only a short straight and tight last corner. Should be right in the finish.

CHYNCHILLA (11) did a lot of work last start in a race taken out by the top mare in the country Eye Keep Smiling. She worked up outside the leader and was able to battle on for a very good third with the classy Steno able to run past her last which is certainly no knock on the performance.

PANDAIA (4) has brilliant gate speed and draws the front line which appears to suit. She burned off the gate last start and couldn’t cross initially but worked to the top eventually but had just done too much work by then. She battled on well enough for a very close up 10th.

SELECTIONS: RYLEE RHAYNE BOW (1), STENO (7), CHYNCHILLA (11), PANDAIA (4)

SUGGESTED BET: STENO (7) to win.

RACE 4

TAYLAD TO USE (8) wasn’t beaten far at Albion Park last start behind stablemate Zealous Spur and classy Oscar Bonavena. This looks a significant step back in grade in this race and despite the 10 metre handicap he appears the horse to beat in this race.

IZARRA (4) started off a big handicap last start and was still able to score there after finding the front and rating good time. Moves up to the front line for this race given the conditions of the race and should step well and give herself every chance.

BANFF (7) is usually a speedy beginner from the stand starts and looks ideally suited coming off just 10 metres in this race. He has been in very good form winning three starts ago before running two good second placings. He finished second behind Koda Da Moda last start at this track when running on late.

HAMMER SON (2) loves the stand starts and has a very good association with Pete McMullen who takes the drive in this race. He has seemingly started to return to some of his better form in recent outings with a third to Koda Da Moda at this track last start a solid enough effort to see him in the minor placings given the right run.

SELECTIONS: TAYLAD TO USE (8), IZARRA (4), BANFF (7), HAMMER SON (2)

SUGGESTED BET: IZARRA (4) to win.

RACE 5

SOHO AMERICANO (1) was having her first start in QLD last start when sitting off the speed and sprinting best to score there over Majorita Jujon. She has previously elected to hand over in the early stages in similar races to this which leaves some query on how they will settle in this race. She brings in strong form and looks the one to beat from the draw.

COOL AND CLASSY (5) was a big run in defeat two starts ago behind Arrive when sitting without cover in a race they went fast time in tough conditions. She is likely to be left working again in this race or could get a long way back which appears to make things tricky for her. She appears to like racing over the middle trip having scored a very impressive win in the NSW Oaks four starts ago after sitting without cover there.

CAPTAINS MISTRESS (11) was a first up winner last start in QLD when running over the top late to win by a big margin. She draws poorly in this race outside the back row and will certainly need to be good to win. She may appreciate a solid early tempo to run on into the finish late.

RUBY RULES (10) was a surprises winner of a NSW Oaks heat four starts ago when running over the top late. She has since raced without a lot of luck including an eye-catching fourth last start when flying home late behind Arrive after getting a long way back from a wide gate.

SELECTIONS: SOHO AMERICANO (1), COOL AND CLASSY (5), CAPTAINS MISTRESS (11), RUBY RULES (10)

SUGGESTED BET: SOHO AMERICANO (1) to win.

RACE 6

RUBIRA (1) is a classy 3YO that was an impressive first up QLD winner last start when leading all the way to score over Braventreacherous and Fate Awaits who he comes up against again. He didn’t leave the gate brilliantly there but didn’t appear to be asked to fully extend early and he flew off the gate in his last NZ start leading from a wide gate. He should be very hard to beat again in what looks a similar field to his last start.

FATE AWAITS (8) is one of the top 3YOs in the country. He took on a race over the mile at Albion Park last time out and was defeated by Rubira who had the draw advantage there. If the emergency comes out of this race he will be inside the back row following out his main rival Rubira which would see him get every chance. He has won a number of races following behind the leader including the rich Protostar race as a 2YO.

PATH TO GREATNESS (6) draws poorly in this race outside the front row which looks to make it a difficult task in a strong race. He has seemingly bridged the gate between himself and his quality stablemate Fate Awaits this time in. He scored an impressive all the way victory last start in The Queensland Sun.

SWEET ON LEXY (2) is a quality horse that lands a really suitable draw in this race. He led last start over the mile at Albion Park and was able to rate good time there when winning with a bit in hand. Should obtain a good run and can be thereabouts in this race with luck.

SELECTIONS: RUBIRA (1), FATE AWAITS (8), PATH TO GREATNESS (6), SWEET ON LEXY (2)

SUGGESTED BET:

RACE 7

OUR VINCENT VAN GOGH (3) started a short priced favourite last start and was seemingly quite disappointing there when run down late by Master Charles after setting an extremely moderate tempo for the grade. He will need to bounce back if he is able to take out this race and there is seemingly some query whether he can find the front this time.

SO SIRIUS (5) was an impressive return last start when running on nicely late in a race where they went slowly early and it suited horses on the pegs up on speed. He draws wide this time and that’s likely to set him a slightly more difficult task. He was very good last campaign and should be thereabouts again in this race.

TOMAHAWK BART (4) was a winner four starts ago when running on best to score. He has gate speed but there does appear to be some gate speed underneath him in this race. He was a solid third two starts ago over the 2300 at Menangle behind smart 3YO Hesitate.

MYDADSAID (8) is having his first run back for the stable of Charlie Martin who had plenty of success with him previously when racing in QLD. He draws to do no work in the early stages of this race. He is fairly versatile and could be put into the race if the tempo permits.

SELECTIONS: OUR VINCENT VAN GOGH (3), SO SIRIUS (5), TOMAHAWK BART (4), MYDADSAID (8)

SUGGESTED BET: SO SIRIUS (5) to win.

RACE 8

CYA ART (4) has the best form reference any horse could have in the country finishing second behind Leap To Fame last start at Albion Park. His last stand start he was somewhat scratchy away early which he simply can’t afford in this race with a few runners likely to be battling it out for the lead early. If he is able to find the front he would take plenty of catching.

FREE THINKER (1) was a recent second to stablemate Aroda in The Flashing Red at Albion Park. He stepped away well there and has the inside draw again in this race. Given that last start effort he may elect to look for an all the way victory this time if he can find the front early.

REGAZZO DI TILLY (7) was a brilliant effort last start in The Flashing Red when doing all the work there outside of Aroda and battling on into the placings. He has improved each run this time in and really appears to be likely to peak in this race.

ARODA (10) was the Flashing Red winner last start after finding the front early. He is a horse that loves the stand starts. He looks to have a more difficult task finding the front in this race which could make things tougher for him to win again.

SELECTIONS: CYA ART (4), FREE THINKER (1), REGAZZO DI TILLY (7), ARODA (10)

SUGGESTED BET: REGAZZO DI TILLY (7) to win.

RACE 9

ALWAYS BE CHAPS (1) took on a strong field last start in a race won by Hesitate where he hit the line powerfully late when running into fifth. His run prior first up in QLD was also impressive when not beaten far by Rocket City. He draws to lead and is likely to prove hard to catch.

OUR GOAT (7) should get the perfect run through in the early stages of this race on the back of a gate speed horse. He ran an impressive third last start behind Hesitate when leading for a long way. Looks to get every chance.

FORCE FULL (8) has been racing without a great deal of luck since returning from a spell having drawn wider gates in four of his last five starts. He wasn’t beaten far two runs ago behind Pitch Perfect in a strong race at Newcastle. He should get a good run however it plays out early in this race.

GO THE RED (2) will likely be one of the longer priced runners in in the field but could potentially secure an economical trip in this race from the good draw. He was making up strong ground late last start at Albion park behind Rocket City.

SELECTIONS: ALWAYS BE CHAPS (1), OUR GOAT (7), FORCE FULL (8), GO THE RED (2)

SUGGESTED BET: ALWAYS BE CHAPS (1) to win.

Slide10_6.png

RACE 10

EPIC ERNIE (6) was a very impressive winner last time out after starting inside the back row. He was able to weave a path away from the inside in that race and booted clear late for a dominant win. He draws wide in this race but with the benefit of two starts for his new stable he should be very hard to beat in this race.

HYDEEHO (2) hasn’t seemingly been racing at his absolute best in recent outings being well beaten his last three starts since returning from a spell. He moves up to QLD for this race and is having his first start for a new stable which may see him improved. This race looks considerably easier than the races he has been contesting in recent starts.

ZOOM PARTY (7) gains the services of Luke McCarthy who is clearly one of the best in the country. He draws extremely awkwardly inside the back row behind what is likely to be one of the longer odds chances in Shadys Delight. His latest effort when running second was extremely impressive for a horse that is not usually known for his toughness.

TIGER ARMY (3) was a good winner three starts ago over Rock Hammer who has since won. Draws somewhat awkwardly in this race for a horse that doesn’t possess any gate speed. He may be put into the race in the middle stages if the tempo permits.

SELECTIONS: EPIC ERNIE (6), HYDEEHO (2), ZOOM PARTY (7), TIGER ARMY (3)

SUGGESTED BET: EPIC ERNIE (6) to win.
