Form Analysis: Redcliffe July 10

RACE 1 

TACTICAL ILLUSION (2) showed gate speed last start but wasn’t quite able to get across in the early stages. She still finished off nicely late to get into third in what was a good effort. She might have the gate speed to zip across early in this race and would prove hard to catch.

THE ULTIMAT COWBOY (1) hit the line strongly last start when getting a long way back in the run. He doesn’t appear to have a lot of gate speed but should still secure a good run close enough to the speed in this race. 

CAPTAIN KEV (4) secured a good run on the pegs last start in what was a much stronger race at Albion Park. He looks better suited in this race but may be forced to do the work and is just having his second career start.

BERRYLICIOUS (7) started at Marburg last start and couldn’t quite reel in Ima Ballerina after sitting without cover most the way. She draws more favourably in this race and can be running on if the gaps appear.

RACE 2 

PREMIER PAUL (6) is looking for a hat-trick of victories in this race having scored in his first two QLD starts. He raced on speed last start and was too good for fellow former kiwis Franco Nel and Nila Maree. He lands in a suitable race and should be winning again if he repeats his last start effort.

NEED YOUR BLESSIN (2) is a significant grade dropper in this race having taken on the Paleface Adios Classic last start taken out by Fire And Passion in what became a dash home. Draws to advantage over his main rivals in this race and should be thereabouts.

NEEDAREASON (1) was a winner two starts ago when closing best to break maiden status. He took on a solid maiden last start won by Ucancallme Al and wasn’t beaten far. Draws ideally and looks one for the minor money.

SHARP AS CAMM BE (7) was a winner last start when getting a good run into the race before closing nicely in the home straight to record a narrow victory. Looks likely to secure a good run in this race.

RACE 3

SHEZ A WARRIOR (7) brings solid NSW form into this race which always has to be respected particularly in the lower grade races. She draws awkwardly inside the back row but over the 2040 the gaps should appear and she is likely to get her chance.

HES REGAL (10) was luckless last start when burning early for the top before being taken on through the middle of the race by a horse that went on to be well beaten. He probably isn’t quite as good running on from the back but it does look a suitable race.

MISTER HART (9) ran on well for second two starts ago behind Betting Baron in a race that didn’t look any stronger than this one. He should do no work early and can be running on late.

DEEP REGRET (6) is a very costly horse to follow having started in the market plenty of times and only managed 3 wins and 6 placings from 53 starts. He does have good ability and if he brings his best behaviour he can figure.

RACE 4 

HEAVENLY WISDOM (2) didn’t have the best of luck last start when held up at a crucial stage before running on well into third. She hasn’t been asked to go early off the gate in some time but given the draw she will secure a good run however things play out early. 

HEAVENS BABY (6) scored a dominant win three starts ago when closing strongly and opening up a margin late. She will likely get a long way back in this race from the wide and should be running on well again if the race is run to suit.

SAINT LOUIS BEAT (7) should get a good run through in the early stages on the back of a horse with moderate early speed. He was a good fourth last start in a race that was dominated by horses on the pegs.

YELLA (10) took on a stronger race last start taken out by Filly Thirteen. Doesn’t look well suited off the back row draw but can figure if the race is run to suit.

RACE 5

JAZZMIN (2) led last start and was able to score there over Williewa Lightning with a big gap to third. She looks the leader again in this race which doesn’t look a lot tougher than the race she took out last start. 

VICTREE ATOM (1) was a winner five starts ago at Marburg when closing over the top late and has since been racing well without a great deal of luck at times. He should secure a great run in this race potentially sitting on the leaders back which should give him every chance to run into the money again.

ILLBEWATCHING (8) was an impressive winner five starts ago when doing the work at this track and proving too good. He led last start and wasn’t beaten far behind Jukebox Jet at this track.

MAYWYNS ACE (3) led last start and looked to have every chance there. May be better with something to follow and was running on strongly after being driven quietly two starts back.

SUGGESTED BET: JAZZMIN (2) to win.

RACE 6 

MAGICOL IDEAL (2) is a gate speed horse that looks the likely leader in this race. He worked hard to lead last start and just got tired late when running seventh. He looks likely to secure a much easier lead this time and should be hard to catch.

CONNIES SPIRIT (1) has been racing in good form. She hit the line strongly last start to run down Maywyns Ace and was just nabbed late by October Racketeer. She is likely to take a sit on Magicol Ideal who should give her a really good run.

WILLIEWA LIGHTNING (3) closed nicely last start behind Jazzmin to go down around a length. He should secure a good run close enough to the speed in this race and if the race is run to suit he could go one better.

OUR ULTIMATE STORMY (9) took on a stronger race last start taken out by Post Painter where she made that runner work for the lead before tiring late. She should secure a more economical run early in this race.

RACE 7

UNCLE CRAIGO (5) hit the line strongly last start to score in a slightly easier race. He draws wide and will need to do work or get a long way back in the run which could make things tough. 

BETTYS GOLD CLASS (7) looks likely to secure a good run through on the back of a gate speed horse Mullum Doc. She was a winner two starts ago when leading and winning comfortably after controlling the race.

MUCH BETTOR (8) is looking for a hat-trick of wins in this race having scored at Marburg and last start at this track. He is a capable sit sprinter and looks ideally suited by the second on the back row draw. He should be running on well again late.

SHEREACTS (2) couldn’t get into the race last start getting a long way back of a moderate tempo. She should secure a good run and can be in the finish if the race is run to suit.

SUGGESTED BET:

RACE 8

KERBANG (2) has good gate speed and showed that last start before being left without cover. He battled on well there to be beaten just 9.4 metres. The last time he was able to lead he was taken on strongly and rated fast time in defeat. He appears to have found a suitable race here and should be hard to beat.

HASTY BID (5) has been a runner up his last two starts running on late. He appeared to be a touch disappointing last start when getting a great run up the inside before finishing second but they did run a fast last quarter and he didn’t have the momentum of the winner. 

TERRAGONG SWINGER (7) should get a reasonable run in this race starting on the pegs. He was a last start winner at Dubbo in what looked solid time for the grade.

SUBTLE DELIGHT (1) has been an improver since returning from a spell and appears to be getting back to the right grade for him to figure in the finish. He should secure a great run in this race and can bounce back to form.

RACE 9

MARVELLOUS MAC (2) worked hard last start in a race that wasn’t run to suit and battled on well to be beaten jut 12.7 metres. He has good gate speed and looks like he might be able to work his way to the top in this race. Should be hard to beat.

LANAI (5) took on a much stronger race last start won by Rocket City when he got a good run three back on the pegs and wasn’t beaten far. This looks a more suitable race but he is over a month between runs into this race which looks a genuine query.

ART JESTER (8) ran on strongly for third two starts ago behind Reason To Shine and Vinsanity. He appears to draw ideally to do no work on the back row and should be running on again late.

SEA FURY (1) finished at the rear of the field last time out in what was probably a stronger race. Generally seems to do his best work when following and gets that opportunity in this race.

RACE 10

SON OF A SHARK (2) has been doing his racing in NSW and is now having his first start for the stable of Ricky Thurlow. He has fair gate speed and might be able to work his way to the front in this race and would prove hard to catch from there off his latest effort leading which saw him run third at Penrith.

NYOTA (7) draws to follow out a runner with decent gate speed. She has been racing without a lot of luck and looks well suited getting a soft run in this race on the pegs. Will need some luck but can figure with luck.

SHEZ A PUNTER (1) has good early speed and returns to QLD having previously had success in the state and at this track. There is no trial vision from a recent Parkes trial but appeared to go moderately on times and should be better for that outing.

ALTA SENSATION (8) hasn’t started for a number of weeks since an unlucky eighth at Albion Park. This race looks a lot easier and he should be running on late if the tempo suits.
