Form Analysis: Redcliffe July 18

RACE 1 

LA DERNIERE (2) was an impressive winner last start when having her first run for new trainer Dony Smith. She gains a good front line draw in this race and has good early speed which might allow her to work to the top in this race. She should prove hard to beat with a repeat of her last start win.

GOTTA HAV ME (1) has been impressive in recent starts. She ran second to Coastal Babe two starts ago after taking a sit on her back before running second. Started from a poor gate last start and was good again running into it late for fifth. 

FACT FINDER (9) took on the Rising Sun consolation two starts ago and wasn’t beaten far there after starting from a wide gate. He then took on a strong race last start taken out by Mac Bon and was beaten just 2 metres. He comes into this race as one of the top hopes.

IN EXCESS (5) ran a good race behind Mac Bon last start after sitting in the 1-1 off the fence. He has good tactical speed and can play a part of the race is run to suit.

RACE 2 

PLAYA BLANCA (1) has good early speed and may look to hold the lead in this race a position she has had success in previously. She did all the work last start and was impressive to battle on as well as she did behind Kerbang. Appears to be working back towards some of her better form.

SERGIOS ROCKET (7) looks likely to secure a great run through in the early stages on the back of a gate speed horse that generally looks to hold the lead when she can. She is racing in good form and has placed her last four starts including a good last start third behind Chicago Bart after racing on the pegs.

GIPSY PRINCESS (5) sat without cover last start and was close up in a strong race at Albion Park behind Sweet Mia. This field is certainly no weaker and she draws unfavourably out wide but she is racing well and can figure with luck.

NOVANTA RISING (6) sat without cover two runs ago and was able to outstay them late to score. He then took on a strong race won by Mac Bon again in fast time at Albion Park. He appears a horse with a few quirks and the smaller track at Redcliffe on face value doesn’t look to suit ideally.

SUGGESTED BET: PLAYA BLANCA (1) to win.

RACE 3

JUSTROLLINGAROUND (1) has good early speed this horse and should be able to drive through and lead. He looks very well placed in this race with James Herbertson taking the drive. He is likely to go around a short priced favourite and should be hard to run down. 

PROSPECTUS (7) did plenty of work last start and was just nabbed late by Lets Get Shorty. This time she appears to get a great run through on the back of a gate speed horse. She should get every chance in this race.

THE BLUE WREN (5) has plenty of early speed but lands in a race where there is plenty of gate speed underneath him. He was well beaten last start but did the work there and he is generally known to be a more speedy horse than he is tough.

ROLLONX (8) has options in this race starting second on the back line. He is likely to get a good run through and if the gaps appear late he can be running on into the money again.

RACE 4 

WEREGOINGTOGETCHA (3) was doing her best work late last start when running on strongly to get into the placings behind dominant winner Premier Paul. She has good early speed and shouldn’t be far away in the run. She looks one of the top chances.

SPORTS BOUNTY (2) doesn’t have much early speed which might see him shuffled back at the start. He was doing his best work through the line last start after securing a good run in the race. He seems to struggle to make ground wide on the track at Redcliffe and may be better suited right up on the speed.

MAGICOL IDEAL (1) has very good early speed which should give him options in this race. He led last start and was just run down late over the 1780. His best is good enough for a race of this nature.

DOOLITTLE DOOZZIE (8) was doing her best work late last start when running on well into third. She was a good winner her start prior to that when able to reel in Hes Regal late at Marburg.

SUGGESTED BET: WEREGOINGTOGETCHA (3) to win.

RACE 5

TORO LOCO (5) has good gate speed and might be able to work his way to the front in this race. He was able to lead last start and ran along the whole way before battling on for third behind Shards Matrix and County Court Judge. 

MISS BAY KING COLE (10) hit the line strongly last start behind Franco Nel at Albion Park over the 2138 in a fast mile rate for the grade. She has been impressive since joining the stable of Graham Dwyer and would be suited here by a genuine early tempo.

SABALA (7) was first up in QLD last start where she scored a dominant win. She draws awkwardly and will find this a lot tougher. Can figure with luck in running.

TAKING A PUNT (4) ran well last start after securing a good run. He can figure again in this race if able to secure a similar type of run.

SUGGESTED BET: TORO LOCO (5) to win.

RACE 6 

DOUGS PLATTER (4) steps out of the Inter Dominion Heats having missed a run in the consolation of the series. This is a big drop in grade and his last start effort was impressive when hitting the line strongly late from a long way back in the run. With the right run he should be hard to beat.

CHEVRON ART (7) scored an impressive win last start at Albion Park when running on over the top to beat Jordy over the 1660. They rated good time there recording a 1.51.4 mile rate which followed up an unlucky run in the Redcliffe Cup and a race where he made an error in the Flashing Red. He has options from the draw and should be hard to beat.

WHEREYABINBOPPIN (6) is another runner that drops out the Inter Dominion heats and looks well graded in this race. He didn’t have much luck in either heat drawing poorly on both occasions. He hasn’t drawn much better in this race and will need to be good to win from outside the front row.

SWEETHEART BART (2) may be able to work to the front in this race before having options. He has taken on a number of strong races at Menangle in recent outings and with the draw advantage on a lot of key rivals he looks one of the top chances.

SUGGESTED BET: DOUGS PLATTER (4) to win.

RACE 7

CREDULOUS (4) is having her first start for Charlie Martin following a solid recent trial where she appeared to hit the line well when presented into the clear. She draws somewhat awkwardly in a race where there appears to be solid early speed drawn underneath her.

SOME CHEVRON (8) draws ideally to do no work in the early stages of this race. He handed over last start before hitting the line strongly late up the inside once eventually getting into the clear over the 2138 at Albion Park.

MIKIS JOE (6) took on a much strong field in a race won by Darin last start in a quick mile rate for the grade. He was doing his best work through the line from a long way back in the run there. He will need to be well driven to get the right run from the wide gate but with some luck he can figure in the finish.

JIVE MASTER (2) has good gate speed and may be the first to find the pegs in this race. He was a narrow winner last start when leading and may be able to run well again.

SUGGESTED BET: 

RACE 8

BLAZING TART (4) led two starts ago and scored a good win there. She looks to have found another race where she might be able to lead and if she can, she should take plenty of beating.

DARETODANCE (9) went around a well supported favourite last start and was well beaten when not having a lot of luck after working hard early. She draws to do less work in the early stages this time and could be a sharp improver. 

CAPTAIN KEV (9) scored a nice win last start at this track when working to the lead in the early stages. He has been an improver each time he’s stepped out at the races and should be improved by his latest run.

LITTLE WHIPPET (2) did things wrong in a better race last start taken out by Decipher at Albion Park. Has been racing well and can figure with the right run into the race.
