25 July 2025

RACE 1

MAHINDI (1) has moderate gate speed and this doesn’t appear a race where there is any brilliant beginners on the front row. If she can drive through and lead she would become the one to beat bringing some of the strongest form into this race including a last start win over Taylors Four.

ART OF ROCK (7) seems to excel when able to secure an economical run up on the speed on the pegs which is a run he looks likely to secure in this race. His second three runs ago behind Ignite The Fire was good enough to be hard to hold out late in this race.

TAKING A PUNT (3) zipped across last start to lead and was able to secure a good run on the back of Miss Bay King Cole battling on well for a placing there. He draws the front row here again and might look to zip across in the early stages again.

REDS STAR DEAL (5) took on a much stronger race last start and was well beaten there. He had trialled fairly prior to resuming and should be nearing peak fitness in this race.

SELECTIONS: MAHINDI (1), ART OF ROCK (7), TAKING A PUNT (3), REDS STAR DEAL (5)

SUGGESTED BET: MAHINDI (1) to win.

RACE 2

LEAVE IT TO LUCY (5) took on a strong race at Albion Park taken out by Our Sweet Jess with Oaks runner Nila Maree in second. She is versatile in this type of grade and might look to find a forward position in the race from the wide gate.

MISSTREPO (3) has the key draw advantage on main rivals in this race and likely has enough early speed to hold that advantage. She worked hard two back in a very fast time for the grade of 1.53.8 and was entitled to tire there. Can bounce back.

BETTYS GOLD CLASS (8) was a dead heat winner two starts ago after securing a good run in the race and closing off well. She should secure a good run in the race off the speed and can be running on late if its run to suit.

APRIL IN PARIS (9) ran into third last start after racing off the speed. She was first up there having trialled reasonably leading in. She should be fitter coming into this race and if the race is run to suit can be hard to hold out late.

SELECTIONS: LEAVE IT TO LUCY (5), MISSTREPO (3), BETTYS GOLD CLASS (8), APRIL IN PARIS (9)

SUGGESTED BET: LEAVE IT TO LUCY (5) to win.

RACE 3

WEREGOINGTOGETCHA (1) sat behind Magicol Ideal last start after working off the gate and nabbing leaders back. She ran well there hitting the front at one stage in the home straight but was just edged out late by Magicol Ideal who had a soft run out in front. This time she should be able to drive through and lead and should be hard to catch as a result.

DIGBY DEVIL (7) found the leaders back trail last start behind Blazing Tart and was able to run a good second there not beaten too far. He looks likely to secure a similar run in this race and steps up to the 2040. Should be thereabouts.

MY ULTIMATE FELIX (6) put in a great run last start when wide on the track through the fastest part of the race at this track when finishing fourth behind Ideal Bronski. This race looks tougher and he will need to be good from gate 6 to take this out.

OHOKAREDROBINJUJON (5) was a winner two starts ago at this track when sitting without cover and proving too good. He then took on the Redcliffe Derby Consolation and was well beaten but steps right back in class here.

SELECTIONS: WEREGOINGTOGETCHA (1), DIGBY DEVIL (7), MY ULTIMATE FELIX (6), OHOKAREDROBINJUJON (5)

SUGGESTED BET: WEREGOINGTOGETCHA (1) to win.

RACE 4

ROLLING BONUS (1) was able to lead two starts ago at this track rating fast time and was just beaten by Monsieur Delacour who had a soft run in that race and a bit of luck to get off the inside at the right time. He then ran well again last start running third after sitting on the leaders back. Might be the leader in this race and should be hard to beat from there.

SHADES OF HEAVEN (7) was able to break through for another win last start when securing a good run just off the speed in that race. He looks likely to secure a great run through in this race on the back of a gate speed horse in Rolling Bonus.

MIKIS JOE (3) two starts ago ran well in behind what was a very fast tempo at Albion Park. He then ran fairly last start dropping back in grade. He draws reasonably and shouldn’t be too far away in the run.

KERBANG (2) sat without cover last start at Redcliffe and wasn’t beaten far. He was a good winner his start prior after leading and holding off Playa Blanca late.

SELECTIONS: ROLLING BONUS (1), SHADES OF HEAVEN (7), MIKIS JOE (3), KERBANG (2)

SUGGESTED BET: ROLLING BONUS (1) to win.

RACE 5

THE BLUE WREN (3) has good early speed and might be able to zip across early. She isn’t a horse that can usually work at both ends of the race and needs to find a position quickly if she works off the gate. She ran well last start when finishing off into fourth behind stablemate Justrollingaround.

HEAVENS BABY (5) got a long way back in a race that wasn’t run to suit last start. She has a short sharp sprint on her and off an economical run is usually running into the finish. She would appreciate a solid early tempo to bring her into the race.

THE CASUAL GOOSE (8) didn’t have much luck last start at Albion Park when getting back in the run in a race dominated by runners up on speed on the pegs. She can be put into the race here and should be hard to hold out in this company.

MISTER HART (2) worked through the line fairly two starts ago after getting a long way back in the run and caught wide off the track in the quickest part of the race. He was then crossed last start after leaving the gate fairly from gate 1. Should secure a good run from the good gate.

SELECTIONS: THE BLUE WREN (3), HEAVENS BABY (5), THE CASUAL GOOSE (8), MISTER HART (2)

SUGGESTED BET:

RACE 6

HOIHO (3) has good early speed and might be able to work across to the lead in this race. Hit the line strongly two starts ago behind Downtown Manhattan. He seems to go best when able to get out in front and should be hard to run down if he finds that position.

THREENTWO (6) has very good early speed and despite drawing widest would have to be some chance of zipping across at the start. She led three starts ago and was just run down by Our Ultimate Lois who had the perfect run on her back.

GOTTA DREAM (8) did the work last start in the breeze which generally isn’t his ideal set up and battled on well to be beaten just 7 metres into fourth behind Downtown Manhattan. He starts from a much better gate in this race and should be thereabouts.

LESVOS LAD (2) draws favourably in this race landing straight in the running line which is of big benefit given he lacks early speed. He was a solid fourth last start after sitting leaders back on a horse that went on to be well beaten.

SELECTIONS: HOIHO (3), THREENTWO (6), GOTTA DREAM (8), LESVOS LAD (2)

SUGGESTED BET:

RACE 7

FRENCH BUBBLES (2) made a break when moving into the race nicely two starts ago at this track. She then impressed last start when moving into the race wide on the track and was just beaten by debutant Boulders Beach with a big gap back to third in the race. Looks hard to beat from a good draw.

MULLUM JUDITH (8) ran well last start behind Oh Hereshe Comes after finding the leaders back trail in the early stages of the race. She draws to do no work early in this race and shouldn’t be too far away in the run. Can be in the finish.

LITTLE WHIPPET (7) looks to have drawn quite awkwardly inside the back row. He took on a stronger race taken out by Decipher two runs back before being well beaten at Redcliffe last start. Can bounce back in an easier race.

MILLIONDOLLARMARTY (9) was first up from a spell last start and hit the line reasonably in behind Oh Hereshe Comes at Albion Park. Should get a reasonable run into the race on the back of Muillum Judith who is likely to be right in the market.

SELECTIONS: FRENCH BUBBLES (2), MULLUM JUDITH (8), LITTLE WHIPPET (7), MILLIONDOLLARMARTY (9)

SUGGESTED BET: FRENCH BUBBLES (2) to win.
