RACE 1

SABALA (4) is first up from NZ having trialled recently at Albion Park behind Major Memphis. She looks a standout dropping back into a maiden having raced in metro company in NZ. She should be hard to beat.

SHEEZANIDEALTORQUE (2) was badly held up last start before hitting the line strongly late once clear. She appears to have good gate speed and if she can find the front she will have options from there.

AUNTY PENNY (6) zipped across to the front last start from a wide gate and was good in defeat behind Just Pinny. There appears to be a bit more gate speed inside of her this time and she will need to step up again in this race.

CALI CAPERS (1) was shuffled back early last start after getting off the gate very slowly. Which appears to suggest gate 1 may not be absolutely ideal. Once she worked into the clear she did hit the line quite well and with a better beginning she could be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: SABALA (4), SHEEZANIDEALTORQUE (2), AUNTY PENNY (6), CALI CAPERS (1)

SUGGESTED BET:

RACE 2

JAZZMIN (2) was a good second behind Man Of Action last start after taking the sit in the early stages. She looks to have found a good opportunity to lead in this race and should prove very hard to catch.

HEAENLY WISDOM (8) was dragged out of the race last start behind a tiring runner before hitting the line reasonably. This is a long way back in grade off some of her better efforts.

WILLIEWA LIGHTNING (9) got the right run into the race last start and was disappointing there fading into fifth late. He was very good three starts ago running on strongly late. His best is good enough.

MATAI REACTOR (7) should get a good run through in the early stages. If the runs come at the right time he can be right in the finish.

SELECTIONS: JAZZMIN (2), HEAENLY WISDOM (8), WILLIEWA LIGHTNING (9), MATAI REACTOR (7)

SUGGESTED BET: JAZZMIN (2) to win.

RACE 3

SHEEZ GOT TORQUE (3) has very good gate speed and might be able to zip across into the lead in this race. She is right down in grade on some of her better efforts. She doesn’t look ideally suited over the 2040 journey but has previously run some good races following them in what has been stronger company.

POCKET BOOK (8) appears to be the class runner in this race. She was down the track last start in a stronger race taken out by Our Sweet Jess. She is a horse that can be driven a number of ways and is versatile in this company.

ROCKSNGEMS (1) has good gate speed giving him options early. His last win came when he was able to secure a run leaders back which is a likely scenario in this race from the great draw.

UNCLE CRAIGO (7) was left without cover last start and battled on reasonably there. Should secure a good run through in this race and over the 2040 the runs often come for horses held up on the pegs.

SELECTIONS: SHEEZ GOT TORQUE (3), POCKET BOOK (8), ROCKSNGEMS (1), UNCLE CRAIGO (7)

SUGGESTED BET: SHEEZ GOT TORQUE (3) to win.

RACE 4

VINSANITY (4) was suited by a solid tempo in the early stages last start and appeared to have his chance to win that race when finishing behind Reason To Shine. He would appreciate a solid early tempo again and should be running on late. May be suited by the step back to 1780.

MISS MUCHO (6) was impressive three starts ago when second to Betterthanarocket at Albion Park. She seems to have recaptured some of her better form and this looks a suitable race despite the outside front row draw.

BETTERTHAN POPSY (3) couldn’t find the pegs last start at this track before securing a good run and hitting the line strongly late for second. He draws to advantage over his key rivals in this race and may look to hold that advantage early.

BELLISSIMO ACQUISTO (7) is having his first start in QLD since moving across the Nullabor from WA. He did most of his best work in WA from the stand start so starting from the mobile first up here is a slight query in a strong race. He trialled fairly behind Orchid Stride in a recent stand start trial and should be hard to beat.

SELECTIONS: VINSANITY (4), MISS MUCHO (6), BETTERTHAN POPSY (3), BELLISSIMO ACQUISTO (7)

SUGGESTED BET: VINSANITY (4) to win.

RACE 5

FIGHT TO THE END (7) should get a good run through in the early stages of this race following a gate speed horse. He took on a much stronger race last start where the winner Premier Paul rated very good time for the grade. Should get eery chance.

VINNIE NITRO (2) showed good gate speed last start to lead all of the way. She looked to be cruising turning into the home straight and won with plenty in hand it appeared. She draws favourably again in this race and steps back to the 1780 which could also be suitable.

FIRENSTORM (8) showed significant improvement two starts ago when running on strongly behind Little Surfer Girl at this track. He broke through last start for an impressive victory when sweeping down the outside to score from a long way back in the race.

BRONX (6) has very good gate speed but looks a tricky race for him to get forward in given the draw. He didn’t have the best of luck last start after starting inside the back row early.

SELECTIONS: FIGHT TO THE END (7), VINNIE NITRO (2), FIRENSTORM (8), BRONX (6)

SUGGESTED BET:

RACE 6

GO THE RED (2) took on a much stronger race last start at this track taken out by Our Goat. He may not be able to find the front which could leave him to do the work in this race. If he can secure the right run he is the one to beat.

IMA BEACH BABE (4) swept down the outside to score in a race that wasn’t really run to suit run on horses. This race doesn’t look a lot tougher and she draws reasonably given she is likely to get back and run on again. Would appreciate a genuine early tempo.

WESTERN ARTERRA (1)
has good gate speed and should be able to drive through and lead before having options. He made a break at a crucial stage last start and was well beaten as a result. Should be a big improver in this race.

HASTY BID (9) hit the line strongly last start from a long way back in the race. Should get a better run through in this race off the back row and can settle closer.

SELECTIONS: GO THE RED (2), IMA BEACH BABE (4), WESTERN ARTERRA (1), HASTY BID (9)

SUGGESTED BET: HASTY BID (9) to win.

RACE 7

CYCLONE TONY (1) has good gate speed and should be able to do enough to hold the lead in the early stages. He has won races leading previously including his most recent victory when beating Mullum Doc.

HELL OF A HAND (7) should get a perfect run through early on the back of her stablemate Cyclone Tony who is likely to lead and can get keen out in front. She is perfectly suited following on the pegs and has scored a number of wins from this position. She was good running third last start not beaten far behind Ima Beach Babe.

THERESACHANCE (9) has options in the early stages whether he goes 3 back the pegs or elects to stay off the inside. Despite getting older in age he continues to race in terrific form and isn’t far away from another victory.

KERBANG (3) did plenty of work last start in a similar race and was entitled to tire late. If he is able to secure a more economical run in this race he should be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: CYCLONE TONY (1), HELL OF A HAND (7), THERESACHANCE (9), KERBANG (3)

SUGGESTED BET: HELL OF A HAND (7) to win

RACE 8

SINABUN (6) is the standout on class in this race having taken on much stronger company in recent outings. Despite the wide draw he clearly looks the one to beat and can be driven like the best horse in this race.

IDEAL DESIRE (2) showed excellent gate speed last start to make a strong play for the early lead before being forced to race off the pegs. Battled on fairly well given the early work she had done in what was one of her better recent efforts.

MERRY JEWEL (1) should secure an economical run in this race on the pegs. She hasn’t been racing at her absolute best but does appear to have landed in a race that’s got slightly less depth.

OUR ULTIMATE LUKA (9) was a strong third last start behind Four Feathers and Convinced at this track. She is racing in good form and looks to have found a race she can be in the finish again.

SELECTIONS: SINABUN (6), IDEAL DESIRE (2), MERRY JEWEL (1), OUR ULTIMATE LUKA (9)

SUGGESTED BET: SINABUN (6) to win.
