Q1 Lakeside meeting update – July 8

Racing Queensland advises that tomorrow’s (8/7) Q1 Lakeside meeting will proceed as scheduled. 

Earlier today, Racing Queensland, Queensland Racing Integrity Commission and Queensland Greyhound Racing Club representatives inspected the track which confirmed the racing surface to be consistent and suitable for racing. 

In addition to today’s inspection, more than 150 club trials were completed on the Q1 Lakeside track. 

A further routine inspection will be completed prior to tomorrow’s meeting in accordance with standard raceday procedures. 

In addition, an inspection of the QStraight track was also undertaken today, which again presented a consistent surface. 

In accordance with established practice, a further inspection of the QStraight will be completed on Wednesday ahead of its next race meeting. 

Finally, refurbishments to the Q2 Parklands track commenced today with a final decision on whether the rescheduled Brisbane Cup feature meeting will proceed to be made later this week.
