RQ statement on the Q2 Parklands
Racing Queensland advises that remediation works of the Q2 Parklands track are close to conclusion.
On Monday, the Queensland Greyhound Racing Club oversaw the refurbishment of the track which was graded and power harrowed to a depth of 150mm.
Queensland Racing Integrity Commission Stewards have since conducted an inspection of the track and are satisfied with the progress of the remedial works to date. Accordingly, a further inspection of the track is scheduled for tomorrow evening.
On the condition that this further inspection is satisfactory to the Stewards, the QGRC will conduct club trials on the Q2 Parklands from 8am to 10am on Thursday morning.
All greyhounds participating in the club trials will be eligible under RQ’s Race Meeting Injury Scheme.
To accommodate these developments, nominations for the Brisbane Cup feature meeting which has been tentatively scheduled for Saturday, July 12 will be extended and will now close at 1pm on Thursday, July 10.
Nominations for the Q2 Parklands meeting on Monday, July 14 will also be extended and will now close at 9am on Friday, July 11.
An update on whether the Brisbane Cup feature meeting proceeds will be issued following the scheduled inspections and the potential satisfactory conduct of club trials in the coming days.
