The Q program changes
Racing Queensland advises that the refurbishment of the Q2 Parklands track has necessitated program changes at the Queensland Greyhound Racing Club.
With Queensland Racing Integrity Commission Stewards inspecting the Q2 Parklands track last night and deeming it unsuitable for trialling or racing, all upcoming meetings and trials have been cancelled until further notice so further remediation works can take place.
During this time, the Q1 Lakeside and Q Straight will accommodate the eight meetings at The Q each week.
Program changes can be found here.
As part of its contingency planning, RQ consulted the QGRC on the possibility of rescheduling meetings at Albion Park.
However, due to the significant strain this would place on existing staffing resources and operational capacity, including the refurbishments of the Q2 Parklands and daily meetings on the Q1 Lakeside or Q Straight, it has been determined that a short-term return is not currently feasible.
As a matter of priority, RQ and the QGRC are focused on delivering a consistent and suitable racing surface before meetings are rescheduled on the Q2 Parklands.
Further updates will be provided as the refurbishment progresses.
