RACE 1

ZEALOUS SPUR (3) has been in excellent form running second to classy stablemate Love Gun when coming off handicaps in stand starts. He has very good gate speed and might be able to find the front in this race. If he does then it’s hard to see anything beating him on recent form.

VAN SANK (2) has good gate speed and in this race with no back line he has options in the early stages. Hammer Son drawn inside him does have good gate speed and might be difficult to get across early. He has been racing well enough to figure in a race of this nature.

HIDE AND SEEK (5) is an enigmatic trotter that’s best is very good. He often makes mistakes in his races but when he does everything right he is a high quality trotter. He draw widest in this race due to being ODM which further makes his task a more difficult one.

SELECTIONS: ZEALOUS SPUR (3), VAN SANK (2), HIDE AND SEEK (5)

SUGGESTED BET: ZEALOUS SPUR (3) to win.

RACE 2

HEAVENLY WISDOM (4) was a strong winner five starts ago at Redcliffe when closing over the top late to score. She draws fairly in this race and is generally driven for her sit sprint capacity.

DOOLITTLE DOOZZIE (9) did the work last start at Redcliffe over the 2040 and battled away fairly to finish amongst the main bunch of horses. She draws well in this race on the back row and should be thereabouts again.

SIGNOR JUJON (5) was an impressive recent winner over the 1780 at Redcliffe before not quite backing up that effort recently at the 2040 journey. He draws wider in this race and may need the race run to suit.

PEPPA (2) was a well supported favourite last start at Redcliffe when running second. Draws well again in this race and with the right run should be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: HEAVENLY WISDOM (4), DOOLITTLE DOOZZIE (9), SIGNOR JUJON (5), PEPPA (2)

SUGGESTED BET: HEAVENLY WISDOM (4) to win.

RACE 3

FIGHT TO THE END (6) broke through to score a well deserved win when having very little luck at Redcliffe. He raced wide early and wasn’t able to find a position before being forced to the rear of the field and still powered over the top late to score. He looks the clear standout in this race on that effort and should be hard to beat.

FILLY THIRTEEN (9) got a long way back last start and ran on strongly late into seventh. She has very good speed and looks suited doing no work early from this good draw.

AMILLIONCHANCES (7) is a horse with ability but does tend to do plenty wrong in his races. He draws widest in this race and appears likely to be forced to work at some stage.

MISTER DELWIN (1) has good early speed and looks likely to be able to drive through and lead before having options in the race. He generally seems to go best with something to follow so may elect to take a trail on one of the better chances.

SELECTIONS: FIGHT TO THE END (6), FILLY THIRTEEN (9), AMILLIONCHANCES (7), MISTER DELWIN (1)

SUGGESTED BET: FIGHT TO THE END (6) to win.

RACE 4

KASH TIN (11) drops in grade into this race having scored a nice win two starts ago leading all the way. He is a horse that has previously shown he is capable of doing work in his races and should be thereabouts again in this race.

DEEBO (10) has been hitting the line strongly in recent starts running second last start and third his start prior. He draws awkwardly but off recent efforts should be hitting the line nicely again and looks one of the hardest to beat.

MARRANZANO (1) has good gate speed and should be able to do enough early to have options. He is a difficult horse to line up but has seemingly been racing 2YOs with well above average ability including Fight For Victory.

TIGER TOMMY (8) looks likely to get a good run through at the start on the back of the 1. Has been racing well and seems to love being driven quietly in the early stages before hitting the line late.

SELECTIONS: KASH TIN (11), DEEBO (10), MARRANZANO (1), TIGER TOMMY (8)

SUGGESTED BET:

RACE 5

TILLY JAYNE (9) trialled up sharply recently behind Sweet Hayley Jane in a 1.52 mile rate. She is having her first start for the in form stable of Matt Elkins and looks to have drawn reasonably in this race likely to get a perfect run through at the start.

MOTH HUNTER (10) has drawn poorly outside of her main rival in the race. She was a good winner two starts ago in a 1.54.8 mile rate over the 2138 at this track when sitting leaders back in an effort that would certainly see her competitive in this race.

ZAHRA LOU (3) was forced to do the work last start in a race taken out by Majorita Jujon who ran over the top late. She looks destined to be doing the work again in this race but showed last start she is capable of doing that and still being in the finish.

KYLOAN QUEEN (2) has excellent gate speed and should be able to drive through and lead this race. Ran well two starts ago when leading and hanging on for a good second. She should be hard to run down again.

SELECTIONS: TILLY JAYNE (9), MOTH HUNTER (10), ZAHRA LOU (3), KYLOAN QUEEN (2)

SUGGESTED BET: TILLY JAYNE (9) to win.

RACE 6

BOLD MEDLEY JUJON (2) has just moderate early speed and will need to begin as quickly as he can to hold out Monopollie who is a very fast beginner drawn alongside him. If he is able to do enough early to hold the lead he would prove hard to beat out in front. His recent win at Redcliffe was good enough to suggest he should be thereabouts in a race of this nature.

MY CAPTAIN MY CAPTAIN (6) is a former WA horse having his first run for the stable of Ron Sallis. He showed good ability early in WA and has put together a good record having won 3 races from just 8 career starts so far. He looks well placed in this first up in QLD.

WAMBOYNEINAMERICA (5) wasn’t at his absolute best last start when getting back in the field in a race that wasn’t run to suit horses running on from the back. His recent win at Newcastle was god enough to see him competitive in this race with the right run.

WINDY HILL WALLY (8) was an impressive second recently at this track over the mile when not beaten far by Bigger The Bettor. This looks an awkward draw for him inside the back row but he does appear well graded and if he can work clear of the pegline draw at some stage he should be hard to beat.

SELECTIONS: BOLD MEDLEY JUJON (2), MY CAPTAIN MY CAPTAIN (6), WAMBOYNEINAMERICA (5), WINDY HILL WALLY (8)

SUGGESTED BET: WINDY HILL WALLY (8) each way.

RACE 7

EPIC ERNIE (8) should get a good run through in the early stages on the back of a gate speed horse Western Arterra. He was luckless on Saturday night in a race taken out by the leader Prince Of Pain with the place getters having raced on the pegs while Epic Ernie was forced off the track at a crucial stage.

WESTERN ARTERRA (1) has good gate speed and showed that early at Marburg when zipping off the gate before leading all the way. He was solid again last start when hitting the line fairly behind Ultimate Miki. He can dictate early and should be thereabouts.

PLAYA BLANCA (9) was working hard last start and loomed up looking the winner before understandably getting a bit tired late after the tough run. She is likely to be driven in a similar manner in this race and looks hard to beat if able to repeat her recent efforts.

JOANS RISING STAR (6) has had a string of wider draws in recent starts which has continued in this race. She got a long way back last start and finished off powerfully not beaten far by Mighty Jolt over the 2138.

SELECTIONS: EPIC ERNIE (8), WESTERN ARTERRA (1), PLAYA BLANCA (9), JOANS RISING STAR (6)

SUGGESTED BET: EPIC ERNIE (8) to win.

RACE 8

I GOT CHILLS (2) has brilliant gate speed and showed that last start when zipping across to lead and was able to hold off Botticelli late in a race they rated fast time. He looks likely to find the front again in this race and a similar effort to last start should see him hard to beat in this race from the good gate.

HELLO I TEA (1) was able to secure a good run on the pegs last start and ran on well into second. From the good draw looks likely to secure an ideal run again in this race and should be running on again.

MAJOR JELLIS (3) has been racing consistently in veterans company in races which have seemingly had good quality and depth. He was suited last start when racing off the speed in a quickly run race finishing second to Royal Speech.

AMAMI (9) has been taking on strong company in recent outings in metro races at Albion Park. He draws favourably on the back row in this race and has options early whether he goes to the pegs or stays in the running line.

SELECTIONS: I GOT CHILLS (2), HELLO I TEA (1), MAJOR JELLIS (3), AMAMI (9)

SUGGESTED BET: I GOT CHILLS (2) to win.
