RACE 1

OUR SUNSET DELIGHT (2) has been racing well and finds a race where he might be able to work his way to the front. Compete who has drawn inside him contested a much easier race and was beaten when appearing to have his chance out in front so may elect to hand over to Our Sunset Delight in this race.

SO SIRIUS (11) was a good winner five starts ago when closing over the top late to score at this track and trip in a race that was run to suit. He then scored again after securing a good run on the leaders back. He would be suited by a genuine early tempo and can be running on late.

MY ULTIMATE CARTER (8) should get a good run through on the back of a gate speed horse in Compete. He got back last start in a race taken out by the in form Rocket City and couldn’t get into it in what became a dash home. He should find this a lot easier and can figure with luck in running.

IN EXCESS (10) wasn’t suited last start when appearing to get keen when sitting without cover. He should be better suited in this race being saved for one run at them late. He was a good winner his start prior when leading all the way over the 1660 at this track in good time.

SELECTIONS: OUR SUNSET DELIGHT (2), SO SIRIUS (11), MY ULTIMATE CARTER (8), IN EXCESS (10)

SUGGESTED BET:

RACE 2

SINABUN (1) should have enough gate speed to drive through and lead this race early. He set a strong tempo out in front last start in an attempt to beat the classy Final Deadline who was able to get the better of him late. There’s no Final Deadline in this race and he should be hard to beat.

I GOT CHILLS (5) was able to secure a good run off the speed last start and closed best late to score. He has shown versatility winning races in front and from behind now in QLD. He has excellent gate speed but may be forced to work at some stage in this race from what looks an awkward draw.

OUR INDIFFERENCE (8) should get a good run through on the back of Sinabun who has good gate speed. He drew poorly last start and got a long way back before hitting the line strongly late to get into fourth. He should appreciate a softer trip closer to the speed and can be dangerous late.

DRAGON (9) didn’t have a lot of luck last start when unable to get across early before doing all the work outside the leader and being beaten just 1.7 metres by stablemate I Got Chills. He may be forced to do the work again at some stage in this race from the back line draw.

SELECTIONS: SINABUN (1), I GOT CHILLS (5), OUR INDIFFERENCE (8), DRAGON (9)

SUGGESTED BET: OUR INDIFFERENCE (8) each way.

RACE 3

ELLIS STREET (1) returns from a long spell after multiple trials in which he performed just moderately until his latest trial where he was able to run a sharp second to the smart, progressive filly Arrive. He lands in a winnable race and draws ideally to be able to lead and prove hard to catch on his best.

TEDDY TURPIN (8) should get a great run through early on the likely leader Ellis Street. He is always thereabouts and just hasn’t quite been able to break through for another win. He did some early work last start before hitting the line well for second behind Epic Ernie over the 2138. Should be right in the finish from a good draw.

GO THE RED (9) should be able secure a good run on the pegs in this race just behind the speed. He started from a back row draw last start and wasn’t beaten far by Epic Ernie when making a wide run into the race.

VINSANITY (4) is a horse that has shown he has good ability and is never far away but rarely wins and appeared to have every chance when leading last start. He steps back to the mile in this race where he may be better suited and has options whether he presses forward or looks to run on late.

SELECTIONS: ELLIS STREET (1), TEDDY TURPIN (8), GO THE RED (9), VINSANITY (4)

SUGGESTED BET: GO THE RED (9) to place.

RACE 4

NOT AS PROMISED (4) trialled up impressively recently when beaten just 7.3 metres by FFA pacer Manila Playboy. He was very good through the inter dominion campaign running second in the first heat before a good fourth in the second heat which saw him make the final and be left to do all the work over the 3100 in the breeze. He should be able to work forward find a prominent position in this race and looks the one to beat.

GOLDEN SUNSET (5) returns from a spell in this race following a massive trial win running fast time for the 2138 stand start. She was able to take out a heat of the Inter Dominion in her last campaign when finding the front and lead all the way. She can look to press forward early in this race and should be hard to beat.

MUFASA METRO (8) is a classy trotter that made the move to race in QLD with the stable of Tayla Gillespie. He scored a dominant first up win from the stand start when doing the work outside the leader and just proving too strong for Get Used To It who had a much softer run in the race. He is likely to have derived benefit from that run and with luck he can be in the finish again.

GET USED TO IT (9) was running on late last start when beaten by quality trotter Mufasa Metro. He comes into this race third up from a spell and should be nearing peak fitness. He should secure a good run from the draw and can be running on late.

SELECTIONS: NOT AS PROMISED (4), GOLDEN SUNSET (5), MUFASA METRO (8), GET USED TO IT (9)

SUGGESTED BET: NOT AS PROMISED (4) to win.

RACE 5

IM BOO (1) has good gate speed and should be able to drive through and lead this race in the early stages. He put in a big effort two starts ago to battle away and finish as close as he did after doing all the work in the race won by Watchmedazzle. He should get every chance in this race from a good draw.

STUDLEIGH MARK (8) led from a wide gate on Wednesday at Redcliffe and was run down by the horse that had the perfect trip on his back in Grigora. He should get a good run through on the back of Im Boo in this race and should be thereabouts late.

OUR ULTIMATE EBONY (2) had very little luck last start when shuffled a long way back on the pegs in a race won by Gotta Hav Me. She should get a good run from the low gate and if the race is run to suit she can be running into it late.

TAKE A CHANCE (9) has options in the early stages whether he looks for the pegs or stays in the running line. He did plenty of work last start at this track and trip and was able to battle on well to not be beaten further.

SELECTIONS: IM BOO (1), STUDLEIGH MARK (8), OUR ULTIMATE EBONY (2), TAKE A CHANCE (9)

SUGGESTED BET: IM BOO (1) to win.

RACE 6

HOT AND TREACHEROUS (4) was able to break the track record for the stand start at the 2138 at Albion Park recently when leading almost all of the way. He appears to strike another winnable race where he may be able to work to the lead early.

FRANKIE FEROCIOUS (2) was running on strongly last start in a quick last half behind Wisper A Secret who had been able to control things out in front in that race. He should be able to secure a good run close to the speed in this race given the small field and his low draw and can be running on again late.

WISPER A SECRET (5) was a good winner leading all the way when returning last start following his Inter Dominion campaign over the 1660 at this track. He draws wide this time and steps up to the 2138. He has very good gate speed and may elect to use that at the start to attempt to get across to the pegs which would make him the horse to beat if successful.

TIMS A TROOPER (6) did things wrong early last start in a stand start which was taken out by Send It. He was a good winner of a stand start three starts ago before running on late in the race taken out by Wisper A Secret over the mile.

SELECTIONS: HOT AND TREACHEROUS (4), FRANKIE FEROCIOUS (2), WISPER A SECRET (5), TIMS A TROOPER (6)

SUGGESTED BET: HOT AND TREACHEROUS (4) to win.

RACE 7

SOAP OPERA (2) previously has done a few things wrong early in her races which has seen her being driven conservatively early. She was pushed off the gate recently and appeared to begin nicely when working forward. If she can hold her position and work to the lead early she would be hard to catch in this race.

CHEER LEADER (5) was able to secure a good run last start on the back of La Derniere and ran a clear second to that mare. She should secure a good run again in this race off the speed and will just be relying on the tempo being genuine through the early stages of the race.

WINDY HILL TARA (7) joins the stable of Jack butler having previously done her racing for Amanda Turnbull putting together a good record having won over $250k. This appears a drop back in class for her racing the Band 5 Mares having taken on the up to 90 grade horses at Bathurst in her latest outing.

IMA QUEEN BEE (9) was suited last start by a strong tempo which allowed her to run over the top late. She draws the back line this time and will be hoping for a similar run in this race.

SELECTIONS: SOAP OPERA (2), CHEER LEADER (5), WINDY HILL TARA (7), IMA QUEEN BEE (9)

SUGGESTED BET: SOAP OPERA (2) to win.

Slide8_61.png

RACE 8

WORKS FOR ME (6) has been racing in good form without a huge amount of luck in her races. She hasn’t had much luck this time from the barrier draw having drawn a wide gate which will see her needing to work at some stage. She sat without cover last start in fast time and was able to battle away strongly for a close up third.

TICK A LOCK (7) was able to secure a good run last start when working home strongly into third from a pegs draw behind Ima Queen Bee. She was able to score a good win three starts ago over Coastal Babe and Sweet Addition. She will need luck from the draw and the race to be run to suit.

GOTTA HAV ME (8) has been in excellent form and is looking for a hat-trick of wins in this race having proved too strong from the breeze two starts ago before leading all the way at Redcliffe. She will need luck at some stage to get into the race from the inside back row draw which looks awkward on paper.

KYLOAN QUEEN (2) has good early speed and appears the early leader of this race. She was able to lead all the way last start in what was an easier race and will need to improve again to take this race out.

SELECTIONS: WORKS FOR ME (6), TICK A LOCK (7), GOTTA HAV ME (8), KYLOAN QUEEN (2)

SUGGESTED BET: WORKS FOR ME (6) to win.

RACE 9

BIRKIRKARA (3) was first up from a spell last start when tucked away on the pegs in the early stages before running on strongly into second behind the in form Rocket City. He draws well in this race and appears the clear standout on class. He is likely to have derived plenty of benefit from his first up effort and should come into this fitter second up from a spell.

TARGARYEN (8) was fourth when returning from a spell last start. He looks likely to secure a good run through at the start on the back of a gate speed horse. If the gaps appear at the right time he can be running into it late.

LUVBITE (1) showed gate speed before handing over to Rocket City in the early stages last start. He was able to battle on for third there after securing the run of the race leaders back. He is likely to have derived a lot of benefit from that last start effort when first up from a spell.

MOSSDALE TERRY (5) was second last start to stablemate Send It from the stand start. He steps back to the mobile in this race and draws wide which appears to make it tough for him but he has been racing well and could figure in the minor money with the right run.

SELECTIONS: BIRKIRKARA (3), TARGARYEN (8), LUVBITE (1), MOSSDALE TERRY (5)

SUGGESTED BET: BIRKIRKARA (3) to win.

Slide10_18.png

RACE 10

FATE AWAITS (2) looks the class runner of the field having won close to $700,000 in his career so far. He raced without a huge amount of luck last start when held up at a crucial stage in the Eureka at Menangle. He was beaten by Final Deadline his start prior and was need his best getaway in this race early to hold that runner at the start who has very good gate speed.

FINAL DEADLINE (6) has brilliant gate speed and may elect to use that to attempt to zip across in the early stages of this race. He was able to beat Fate Awaits recently when leading all the way over this track and trip. He showed versatility last start when sitting outside Sinabun and proving too good there doing the work.

FERNCO NEL (4) has been impressive since landing in the stable of Chantal Turpin having scored four wins in a row. He has good early speed but is unlikely to be able to get across in the early stages. May see his winning sequence end in this race but can still figure in the money with the right run.

WAIKAKA MAGIC (5) is undefeated since landing in QLD for the stable of Chantal Turpin. He returns from a spell in this race having scored a strong win in a recent trial. He is likely to have derived benefit from his effort in that trial and should be running on late.

SELECTIONS: FATE AWAITS (2), FINAL DEADLINE (6), FERNCO NEL (4), WAIKAKA MAGIC (5)

SUGGESTED BET: FATE AWAITS (2) to win.

RACE 11

NOVANTA RISING (1) has early speed and will likely be attempting to make the most of the good draw in this race. He has led all the way previously at this track and generally seems to do his best work when up on speed. He was forced to sit without cover last start over the 2138 and may appreciate the step back to the 1660.

GOLDEN FIRE (4) was impressive in winning last start when sitting leaders back behind Sweet Hayley Jane in what was a dash to the line the last 200 metres. She should get a good run off the speed in this race and if the race is run to suit she should be running on late.

PRINCE OF PAIN (8) should secure a good run through at the start on the back of Novanta Rising who is likely to want to hold a forward position in this race. He was impressive two starts ago when running into second behind Botticelli in fast time after racing off the pegs.

BEACHRIDE (10) was forced to do the work last start outside the leader and battled on well given that position in the run isn’t one he is likely suited to. He should get a good run off the speed in this race and can be running into it late if the race is run to suit.

SELECTIONS: NOVANTA RISING (1), GOLDEN FIRE (4), PRINCE OF PAIN (8), BEACHRIDE (10)

SUGGESTED BET: NOVANTA RISING (1) to win.
