Form Analysis Albion Park October 16

RACE ONE

A mixed age maiden to open the card where despite a tough gate, YES CAPTAIN (7) can look to start his career on the right note. A 3YO son of Captain Crunch, he has done all his early educating and trialing in NSW. In an open contest, he might be the one.

 UNTENABLE (8)
is a 3YO son of American Ideal on debut from a smart stable that has a great record in producing well educated types. Given plenty of time to mature before the first up assignment, his trials suggest with the right luck he can be a player here.

 SAINT MAHARG (9)
has placed in two of four career starts, the latest when under 6m or two lengths from the winner IMPERMISSIBLE. Another tough gate presents for this 2YO.

 BENNYDASOOK (3)
was returning from a break last start when sent to Redcliffe. Sent around them from the second line to sit parked, the effort was strong when beaten a head.

SELECTIONS: YES CAPTAIN (7), UNTENABLE (8), SAINT MAHARG (9), BENNYDASOOK (3)
SUGGESTED BET: ES CAPTAIN (7) to win

RACE TWO

The first Australian performance from THE RASCAL (2) was a sizzling effort when starting from this same gate over the middle trip. Sent to the front and repelling an early challenge, he was allowed to stride out and ripped home in a mighty impressive 54.6. He can conduct the tune.

 BEYOND DOUBT (5)
was able to defy a second line gate last start when owning the best closing speed to reel them in and post a 1m margin. Building to that win after four successive placings, all behind some promising types, he can look to issue the challenge in this.

 OPALLANE (4)
was returning from a break here last week when eased from gate four to secure position before finishing best in the closing stages for a neck margin. Added fitness will help.

 CANADIAN LASS (8)
made the most of a soft trip behind the speed and darted through along the lane to grab a narrow victory last time out. She will be probing the gaps again here.

SELECTIONS: THE RASCAL (2), BEYOND DOUBT (5), OPALLANE (4), CANADIAN LASS (8)
 SUGGESTED BET:
Exotics 2 / 3-4-5-8

RACE THREE

A last start Redcliffe winner over the sprint trip, BATMAN BART (10) eased from a wide gate before finishing over the top. Exposed early the start prior before cover arrived, he can be making the right play to stake claim in an open contest.

 HEAVENLY WISDOM (5)
sat rearward from a second line gate last start at the mile and was trying to make a closing raid when just a neck from victory. Just behind the money over this trip the start prior, positioning cheaply can see her throw down a challenge.

 DARCYS FIREBALL (11)
is a trotter tackling the pacers but might just have the right credentials to feature. Pressing forward and just running even time can see him fill a minor.

 ALWAYS BE A TORQUE (7)
starts from gate seven for the fourth consecutive start since her victory from gate three when dictating. Forced to work in the run, she can be thereabouts again.

SELECTIONS: BATMAN BART (10), HEAVENLY WISDOM (5), DARCYS FIREBALL (11), ALWAYS BE A TORQUE (7)
 SUGGESTED BET:
BATMAN BART (10) to win

RACE FOUR

Breaking through for her first victory last start when sent out in red figures, IMPERMISSIBLE (6) proved too strong for her opponents with a gritty win in a smart 1.55.2 rate. Runner-up at her first two career starts, she is a talented filly and despite the wide gate should be too strong.

 ROCK YOUR SOCKS (5)
was finding a maiden breaking win elusive, but was able to find the right conditions when finding the front at Redcliffe last start and fighting them off over the closing stages to post a 3m win. Placed in both prior starts, she can get handy to challenge.

 BLING THE NOISE (7)
was second up in over 14 months two starts back and was eased early when in need of the run. Tackling a small field last time when strong late and only beaten a neck, it will pay to follow.

 WICKED ARK (8)
was just a half-neck away last start and comes through the same race as BLING THE NOISE where OPALLANE was victorious. He will require some luck from this gate.

SELECTIONS: IMPERMISSIBLE (6), ROCK YOUR SOCKS (5), BLING THE NOISE (7), WICKED ARK (8)
 SUGGESTED BET:
IMPERMISSIBLE (6) to win

RACE FIVE

Despite a second line gate to contend with, KONNYMARA (9) might just get the right trail in a race where the tempo should be genuine for this grade. Faced with wide gates at his past two, his effort from this same gate four starts back produced a strong win and he finds conditions to repeat.

 YANKEE C J (10)
is never too far from the action and can look to celebrate his sesqui-centenary of race appearances with another victory. Sent forward to sit parked from a wide gate last start, he was game in holding 3rd. A winner from this gate four starts back, he will be right in the fight.

 SHEZ A PUNTER (2)
possesses good speed out of the machine and can be looking for the poles here. Collared in the last strides last start up the passing lane, she can be gripping on again.

 OUR UNCLE LES (8)
found support last start despite his previous four starts averaging at more than a 15m deficit. Seeing them off to score at the mile, he lines up for start 100 this week, can it be memorable?

SELECTIONS: KONNYMARA (9), YANKEE C J (10), SHEZ A PUNTER (2), OUR UNCLE LES (8)
 SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

Another tough race on a tough day where the front line should generate some good early heat as forward positions are sought. LITTLE SURFER GIRL (9) has won three of her past five starts, including successive wins at this trip. Buried last start from inside the second line when chasing a hat-trick, she can bounce back.

 SON OF THE SHARK (6)
has shown to have good speed at release point since arriving in Qld and last start was able to take control from gate four at Redcliffe. 3m astern of the winner two starts back when leading up, he was 5m away last start and will be trying to get closer to the W here.

 WINDY HILL WALLY (12)
brings plenty of experience and also finds himself sone slightly easier conditions for this battle. Fresh up after being give a let up, he can be working home late.

 ARENDELLE (11)
is at his best over the middle trip and despite the gate, should be able to get the right cart into the contest. A winner two starts back when dictating, he is a podium player.

SELECTIONS: LITTLE SURFER GIRL (9), SON OF THE SHARK (6), WINDY HILL WALLY (12), ARENDELLE (11)
 SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

The ideal set up presents for EDWARD JAY (1) to bounce back into winning form, finding the ideal gate, trip and opponents. A winner four starts back, nothing has been in his favour in the four ruins since. Midfield in a much tougher up to NR75 last start, this profiles perfectly.

 KASH TIN (8)
fired off the arm last start to set the tempo from gate four and was looking to take them all the way. Reeled in late to be 1m form the winner BEYOND DOUBT, the start prior he made late ground after being buried away in transit. Stalking the speed, he will have the last shot.

 BORSELLINO (2)
started from inside the second line last start and despite being tucked away against the markers, found space and pulled clear to s strong win. Freshened since that win, he has claims

 ROCKAWAY BEACH (9)
can look to dart to the poles with the fence a smart play in the mapping set up. Unable to warm off a similar trip last start, he will strip fitter from that outing.

SELECTIONS: EDWARD JAY (1), KASH TIN (8), BORSELLINO (2), ROCKAWAY BEACH (9)
 SUGGESTED BET:
EDWARD JAY (1), and Exotics 1 / 8 / 2-9-10

RACE EIGHT

Runner-up in his first appearance in Qld, FERNCO NEL (9) then went on a tear and put together four successive victories. Holding third in a strong 3YO race behind FINAL DEDALINE and FATE AWAITS last start, those two quality horses will contest the Victoria Derby this Saturday, making this an appealing assignment.

 EXCLUSIVE HUSTLER (2)
has hit the board at his past five in succession, the latest when claiming a qualifying win on Saturday from gate one. Releasing the speed and then arriving in the last stride up the passing lane, he can be handy enough to issue a challenge.

 I GOT CHILLS (8)
when hard off the arm to find the front last start from gate six and setting the speed, was gunned down late by RAKASANDY. If a rub of the green arrives from the gate, he can chime in.

 LAST TIME JOE (10)
can be effective off pace and if able to get the right tow into the battle, can make a late impact. Dropping back to this grade after recent Saturday night outings appeals.

SELECTIONS: FERNCO NEL (9), EXCLUSIVE HUSTLER (2), I GOT CHILLS (9), LAST TIME JOE (10)
 SUGGESTED BET:
FERNCO NEL (9) to win
