Farmor Jacuzzis has been showing expert nous out of the boxes and finishing strongly – not bad for a $1,000 purchase.

The two-year-old bitch – owned by Wayne Scott and trained by his son, Steven - will jump from box six in the Townsville Young Guns Final on Tuesday night.

The Aston Rupee and Lavish Diamond chaser will take three wins from her past five starts into the $7,900 feature sprint over 380 metres.

That includes an all-the-way victory by a length in her heat last Tuesday night, crossing the line in 21.65 seconds.

“I liked the breeding, so I bought her from a bloke in Western Australia,” Wayne Scott said.

“She hadn’t had a start. I said, ‘I’ll give you $1,000 for her’. I told him ‘She might win a couple up here’. And, he said ‘yeah, no problem’.

“The wife, Sheree, and I bought a dog for Steven out of the litter at the same time – the brother, Untamed Rupee – just before we bought the bitch."

Wayne Scott said Farmor Jacuzzis should be hard to beat in Tuesday night’s event if she once again exits the boxes well.

“If she jumps like she jumped in her heat, she’s in with a chance,” Wayne Scott said.

“As far as I know, it (good starts) just come natural with her. But, he (Steven) does all the work. I just own them, as simple as that.

“It’s the old story I always say – if you’re in front they’ve got to catch you.

“I didn’t think she’d win at The Q (over 352 metres on November 12), but she did. I’d like another dozen of them at that price.”

After performing so impressively from the eight lane in her heat last week, Wayne Scott said it should not matter that Farmor Jacuzzis will jump from box six on Tuesday night.

“That’s not worrying us at all. That’s the beauty with her – it doesn’t matter what box she draws,” Wayne Scott said.

“She gets out and goes.”

The 71-year-old Wayne Scott added his chaser had the courage and maturity to go on and enjoy a good on-track career.

“She’s got a big heart. She’s got the heart to win, simple as that. That’s what she does,” Wayne Scott said.

“If you saw her, you’d think she was about six years old. She’s that grey it’s not funny.

“She’s good in the kennels and does everything right at this stage. Hopefully she keeps jumping.”

Wayne Scott said two-year-old bitch and kennelmate Velocity Smolder would also be tough to beat under the care of his Sarina-based son Steven in a strong Townsville Young Guns Final field on Tuesday night.

She has won her past two starts, including her heat in 21.60 seconds and will jump from box seven.

“It could go either way. We’ve got two in eight chances,” Wayne Scott said.

“Townsville and 'Rocky', there are competitive fields. It’s really good that they’re racing twice a week, both tracks. There’s still room for more meetings if they can get them.”
