Form Analysis: Albion Park January 10

10 January 2026

RACE ONE

A costly error ended the chances of MULLUM HANK (4) three starts back, but the effort thereafter was full of merit to finish midfield. Franking that with a strong win when pulling clear, he was four weeks between runs when gate 7 was his undoing here last week. Tightened from the hit out and an improved gate can see him capitalise.

 CARBINEER (1)
had suggested that he was not far away from a qualifying win and delivered it here last week when descending on them in the stretch to take a 4m margin. Luckless here two starts back from this same gate, the early speed is the main concern, but if able to muster to be at least in the trail, he will be challenging.

 GO THE RED (8)
was the beaten fav here last week after a game performance when parked outside the winner BRONSKI ZULU. Defying gate 12 the start prior to score a tough win, he will be relying on some favours from this gate.

 BIGGER THE BETTOR (5)
is eight weeks between runs and may just need the hit out. Strong to the line when a half-head from TREMENDOUS SENSATION two starts back, he will not be far away.

SELECTIONS: MULLUM HANK (4), CARBINEER (1), GO THE RED (8), BIGGER THE BETTOR (5)
SUGGESTED BET: MULLUM HANK (4) to win

RACE TWO

After finishing unplaced in his first two starts back from a spell, CALL TO ORDER (2) has hit the board at his next five in succession, the latest when grabbing bronze in this grade last week. Making good metres in the closing stages, it followed a dictating win over this trip and with the chance to press forward, he looks the one to beat.

 DISTRICT ATTORNEY (9)
produced some slick closing panels here last week when chasing from back in the pack to grab the silver behind HOT AND TREACHEROUS. Last in a small field two starts back, he was under 2m from the winner in a blanket finish and if the gaps can open, he can issue the challenge.

 TIGER BAND WAGON (4)
is chasing a hat-trick of victories after successive wins on the mid-week circuit. This will be a tougher assignment, but he cannot be discounted.

 ALBY TWO CHAINS (10)
powered home from the rear off a hot tempo to score here four back to set a new PBB. Placed in all three since, he will be relying on the right set up to overcome this gate.

SELECTIONS:
CALL TO ORDER (2), DISTRICT ATTORNEY (9), TIGER BAND WAGON (4), ALBY TWO CHAINS (10)
 SUGGESTED BET:
CALL TO ORDER (2) to win

RACE THREE

Scratched here last week when set to make his first appearance in Queensland, ALWAYS DANCING (8) faces a tricky gate and will be relying on some factors in his favour. The last start feature race winner at Globe Derby has developed a great record and if the gap is presented with track still to work with, he will be hard to stop.

 KASH TIN (1)
has won two of his past four starts and lands the advantage from this gate. Finishing best to post a 2m margin two starts back in strong time, he was exposed early last week in a sub 27 opening panel. With all the options, he can challenge.

 DEEBO (12)
is afforded no favours from the extreme gate, yet his recent form has been strong. Under 4m from the winner over this trip last start, three back he was just a head away and can join in here.

 TINDER SURPRISE (6)
is bursting to win a race here in the Sunshine State, having placed in three of his four on this deck. Strong to the line for the silver last time out, the gate might just put it out of reach this week.

SELECTIONS: ALWAYS DANCING (8), KASH TIN (1), DEEBO (12), TINDER SURPRISE (6)
 SUGGESTED BET:
Exotics 1-6-8-12

RACE FOUR

Producing a sectionally super performance in defeat in The Great Square, AJAY VOLSTEAD (4) still beat half the field home after an error. With three weeks between runs, he loomed before being collared last start after starting deep in the red. Tightened from that effort, he can capitalise here.

 MASTERLY (2)
has faced the starter twice since being freshened, the latest when shuffled to three back in the line under mobile conditions, making a late raid to be 7m from the winner. Only 6m astern when fresh up as VAN SANK ended a drought, he finds the conditions to throw down a challenge.

 GET USED TO IT (8)
is chasing a hat-trick of victories after successive wins from behind the start car. Finishing just 2m from TAYLAD TO USE in the DJA Final three starts back, he has been untroubled in successive dictating victories and can feature here.

 LOVE GUN (9)
has been runner-up at his past two starts, the latest when sitting parked and grinding it out to be 4m from GET USED TO IT. Only beaten a head the start prior, he is right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: AJAY VOLSTEAD (4), MASTERLY (2), GET USED TO IT (8), LOVE GUN (9)
 SUGGESTED BET:
AJAY VOLSTEAD (4) to win

RACE FIVE

IN an open mare’s contest where the main players all appear to be drawn wide or off the second line, the newcomer SHES A WARRAWEE (10) can chase a first up victory for the new barn. Arriving following defeat as the fav last time out at Wagga in a strong 3YO contest, she can advocate the strength of the #Riverinaform

 MAJORITA JUJON (6)
faced a second line gate here two starts back and went to the line trying to find clear space after settling rearward. Buried last start from inside the second line, she was then shuffled back and placed in restricted room trying to find open road, losing all momentum when needed. The wide gate hurts but stick with her going forward.

 SHES IN LINE (8)
will need some factors in her favour, but if able to sight space and possessing momentum, she looms as a podium player.

 HARPERVILLE (9)
was unable to squeeze across to the front last start and from there was exposed throughout. Hitting the front turning for home, she peaked after the tough trip when 3rd to A PERFECT DANCE. The second line makes this hard.

SELECTIONS: SHES A WARRAWEE (10), MAJORITA JUJON (6), SHES IN LINE (8), HARPERVILLE (9)
 SUGGESTED BET:
SHES A WARRAWEE (10) to win

RACE SIX

Tackling the junior FFA here last week, THE VICAR OF DIBLEY (5) eased from this same gate and then never saw daylight yet was not too far from the winner HOT AND TREACHEROUS in a slick last 800. Attacking the line with venom to score two starts back, tackling her own sex can see her capitalise.

 SOAP OPERA (4)
has not had much in her favour in recent starts, the latest against the ‘boys’ when forced to start wide off the second line at the 2138. Midfield in the Forever Gold the start prior when buried in the run, the small field will be in her favour to issue a challenge here.

 WINDY HILL TARA (6)
secured her first Qld victory here three starts back. Following up with a placing behind CALL TO ORDER, she is on the short back up after another solid effort not rewarded here on Tuesday in a small field. Back to mare’s grade is a big plus.

SELECTIONS: THE VICAR OF DIBLEY (5), SOAP OPERA (4), WINDY HILL TARA (6)
 SUGGESTED BET:
THE VICAR OF DIBLEY (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

Chasing a hat-trick of victories prior to Christmas, JENSVILLE (2) was attacking the line from deep field when runner-up to IMA QUEEN BEE. Defying gate 7 to secure a qualifier the start prior, she was too strong over the 2138 three back to defeat POST PAINTER in a race franked by the next three she beat all producing subsequent wins.

 REASON TO SHINE (5)
was sectionally impressive last week when eased from gate 7 before making strong metres over the closing stages for 2nd. The same result from the same gate two starts back when runner-up to REELY NAUTI, if able to position cheaply, this is a race where she looms large.

 A PERFECT DANCE (6)
finally landed a qualifying win last week after threatening to win in that grade for so long. With the winning confidence, she can look to feature again despite the gate.

 AURORA JOY (3)
is super consistent and never too far from the action. Grabbing bronze last week behind EYE SEE THESEASIDE, if the tempo is strong, look for her swooping late.

SELECTIONS: JENSVILLE (2), REASON TO SHINE (5), A PERFECT DANCE (6), AURORA JOY (3)
 SUGGESTED BET:
JENSVILLE (2) to win
