Bob Giltinan is rapt with how his four litter siblings are running for him and believes Jane’s Jet should live up to his name in the QGOLD Final for dogs at Capalaba on Sunday.

He also thinks box eight will be the ideal lane for the two-year-old black chaser by Aussie Infrared and out of Brockie Magic in the $15,600 feature on the 366 metre straight.

Litter brother Boom Town will start from box three, but Giltinan has high hopes for Jane’s Jet, who has won six of his past 13 starts after a four-month spell.

“He’s a lot better than the other dog up the straight. So, I just hope he gets a nice clean run and he’d be a hope from there,” Giltinan said.

“They’re going really good. They’re a really good litter. Both dogs are good.”

Jane’s Jet will jump from the eight lane after his litter brother, Oscar Magic, was scratched following a fourth-place finish in his heat last Sunday.

Jane’s Jet ran an impressive 19.47 seconds to win the Mike ‘Tricky’ Stephenson Final at Capalaba on January 25.

“He is drawn in the eight where he’ll get a good run. Jane’s Jet goes to the eight and he’s a real big hope. He’s run 19.50 seconds up there,” Giltinan said.

Giltinan added his chaser pulled up well after his heat, when he found congestion early, before crossing the line in 20.21 seconds.

“He likes to get to the middle and he tried to get to the middle the other day,” he said.

“He just ran into traffic. But, he should be able to do what he likes to do off the eight on Sunday. The seven (Armarta) will be hard to beat, but I think he’s a real good chance.”

Giltinan said fawn dog Boom Town should also be competitive from box three.

He came second in his QGOLD heat, registering a time of 20.02 seconds.

“The dog is going well, but he’s not that suited to straight racing. He is better on the circle,” he said.

“He is going better there now. That’s why I’ve put him in for a shot at it.

“But, he’s probably only a 19.90 second dog up the straight. But, he went really good at The Q the other week over 352 metres (on February 24). He went 19.22 seconds.”

The Ormeau trainer said Boom Town, with 10 wins from 31 starts, was starting to show some physical development.

“He’s a good beginner on the circle and he’s got good early speed. Those are his biggest assets, which is what you want,” he said.

“And, he’s getting stronger as he gets older.”

Meanwhile, Giltinan is looking forward to seeing the progression of a litter by Out Of Range.

“I don’t know what they’re like yet. They’re still too young,” he said.

“The owner, Pat Gainey, he bred them and followed the line. I think Pat just thought he had a good litter.”
