Form Analysis: Albion Park May 26

26 May 2026

RACE ONE

The first 3YO only trot of the season where the newcomer RAFFIE JAY (4) can look to break maiden ranks in her first Qld appearance. Arriving with successive placings to her name from just two starts on the South Island of NZ, a smart trial in readiness suggests she can strike fresh.

BLACK VIPER (2)
returns from a spell after a 2YO term that realised eight minors and a solitary win from 12 attempts. With a tidy trial performance in readiness for the return, he finds the right contest to make an impact first up.

SERENA LOVE (3)
should appreciate tackling her own age here after four runs back from a spell against all comers. Making errors against much more seasoned campaigners in her past two starts, she is better suited here.

SELECTIONS: RAFFIE JAY (4), BLACK VIPER (2), SERENA LOVE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: RAFFIE JAY (4) to win

RACE TWO

Starting his career with a Mildura victory when fired off the arm from outside the front line, BITE THE EAR MIKE (1) finds his way to the Turpin stable where he will be first up from a spell in just his second career start. With a tidy trial performance, he has the gate to make an impact fresh.

FRANCO NICKELBACK (4)
is part of the visiting Douglas stable that has a large team in tow. A handy 4YO that went three from three to start his career, he has been unplaced in the past three, the latest at Melton over 2240. In a mixed age contest, he can throw down a challenge.

PASSCHENDAELE (5)
has been placed in both starts since arriving in Qld, the latest chasing home, the smart MOVE IT LOU. Despite a tricky gate, he can be thereabouts.

JUDAH RED (7)
had close to 6 years off and has put together two wins and a minor in his past three runs. Arriving from NSW for visiting trainer Olivia Frisby, the gate makes it a tough ask.

SELECTIONS:
BITE THE EAR MIKE (1), FRANCO NICKELBACK (4), PASSCHENDAELE (5), JUDAH RED (7)
SUGGESTED BET:
BITE THE EAR MIKE (1) to win

RACE THREE

Resuming from a let-up, FINAL DEADLINE (4) started this season with victory in one of these midweek standing start events in emphatic style. Since that season opener, he has had a further two wins and has been runner-up the past three, including in the Chariots of Fire. He can kick off with another W.

JUNGLE DRAGON (2)
is part of the Bern Hewitt team that has arrived with immediate impact. A 4YO that has 12 career victories, this will be his first appearance this season after his 2025 term was shut down following the G1 NSW Breeders Final behind DOUBLE LOU. Qualifying from the tapes here last week, he is a smart type.

GEM PUNTER PETE (1)
has a handy record in these standing start events and from the inside lane can find the right position to chase another podium result. Only 4m from SEND IT two starts back, he can chime in.

OUR SUNSET DELIGHT (5)
has placed at his past three, the latest from this same mark when 1m from SEND IT. Chasing home for the silver behind subsequent winner FERNCO NEL two back, he can feature again.

SELECTIONS: FINAL DEADLINE (4), JUNGLE DRAGON (2), GEM PUNTER PETE (1), OUR SUNSET DELIGHT (5)
SUGGESTED BET:
FINAL DEADLINE (4) to win

RACE FOUR

A competitive trot from the stand start where a case could be made for many of the field. Trouble struck VOLTAIN (2) last time out which saw her never a factor. Midfield the start prior from a 20m handicap after a starting error, back to the front tape can see her bounce back.

ALADDIN SANE (9)
faced a 40m impost here two starts back and followed the poles when grabbing the bronze behind NORTHERN HEIGHTS. Taking the trail last start when just behind the money as KODA DA MODA arrived, he can issue a challenge with the right start here.

DHONI TROUBLE (11)
was sent out as the fav last start, but an early error ended any chance. Runner-up at Melton two starts back, he can look to bounce back.

LAYDOWNLUNA (4)
battled on for the bronze last start after finding the front from gate 7 at mobile conditions and finishing 4m astern of the winner INSTANT DELIGHT. She can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: VOLTAIN (2), ALADDIN SANE (9), DHONI TROUBLE (11), LAYDOWNLUNA (4)
SUGGESTED BET:
VOLTAIN (2) to win

RACE FIVE

Huge on the clock in successive starts after making errors, IKIGAI (10) was huge last start when parked outside ALDEBARANSTILINKSI. Rolling across from gate 7 and sitting parked, she had the temerity to hold on for the bronze in a new track record. If she trots, she wins. If.

PIZZA PRINCE (3)
has good speed off the arm and from this gate can look to fire the early shots. Holding up at this trip two starts back and only collared in the last strides by SASSY GALLEON, last start he was only beaten a half-head by SOUTHERN DIAMOND. He can throw it down again.

INSTANT DELIGHT (1)
had been threatening to win without landing the winning blow for some time before scoring the breakthrough here last week at 2138. From the gate, she has the options to chase a repeat.

DARCYS FIREBALL (8)
maps for a soft trip from this gate and will be looking for the way clear. Placed at his past two in succession, he can feature again if the gaps open.

SELECTIONS: IKIGAI (10), PIZZA PRINCE (3), INSTANT DELIGHT (1), DARCYS FIREBALL (8)
SUGGESTED BET:
IKIGAI (10) to win

RACE SIX

Unable to go on with it over the latter stages last time out at 2138, AUNTY FRANCES (9) finished near the rear. Placed in both prior attempts including a 3m margin over this trip from the trail, she strikes an open event and with the right trail through might just arrive in time.

GOODTIME CRACKER (3)
worked home over the top to score a Trot Rods victory last start after easing early from a tricky gate. At the rear in three successive starts since returning from a spell, some winning confidence can see him challenge in an open contest.

TOMMY BLIGH (10)
dictated from the front when first up for the new stable over the Redcliffe 1780 before finishing midfield second up after a tough trip. The gate makes it tricky in this.

AMILLIONCHANCES (5)
eased to find position last start and then never warmed up in the closing stages. Luckless the start prior, he has podium claims in this line up.

SELECTIONS: AUNTY FRANCES (9), GOODTIME CRACKER (3), TOMMY BLIGH (10), AMILLIONCHANCES (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

Numerically the form of AURORA JOY (2) is not overly inspiring. However, she is a mare that at times needs favours to go her way, which they have not been from tough draws. With the chance to secure the stalking trip and with a tidy record at the trip and up the lane, she can capitalise.

WELEASE WODDEWICK (5)
was huge in defeat at this trip two starts back when making an error but still finishing ahead of some runners. Scoring in the one lap Trot Rods format at Redcliffe last start, he steps back out to the 2138 and can throw down the challenge.

 HOT ROD HARRY (3)
worked to the front last start at the mile but was unable to repel the closing shot of SCRUFFY which took a 1m margin. He can set the tempo again and be gripping on.

SCRUFFY (6)
is in good touch with wins in three of his past four starts and lines up for the hat-trick. Finding the front and then releasing at the mile last start, the gate makes it tougher here.

SELECTIONS: AURORA JOY (2), WELEASE WODDEWICK (5), HOT ROD HARRY (3), SCRUFFY (6)
SUGGESTED BET:
AURORA JOY (2) win/place

RACE EIGHT

A tricky contest to line up here where any sort of tempo and with the right trail, MY ULTIMATE COSSIE (10) might just be able to arrive. Placed at his past four in succession, the past two of those have been at Redcliffe. Despite recent form at the sprint trip, he should be well suited.

ROYAL PRINCESS (1)
has hit the board in three of her past five starts, the latest a gritty 3rd when asked to park at this trip. Runner-up from the trail three starts back, she secures all the options from the inside gate to issue the challenge.

LITTLE SURFER GIRL (4)
was beaten by gate 7 last start when asked to get around them to the breeze but was out of tickets in the latter stages. An improved gate will assist her claims here.

BETTOR CHEER (2)
held on for the bronze last start at Redcliffe over 947 after facing a wide gate. Winless here on the big deck after 20 attempts, he can settle handy to feature in this.

SELECTIONS: MY ULTIMATE COSSIE (10), ROYAL PRINCESS (1), LITTLE SURFER GIRL (4), BETTOR CHEER (2)
SUGGESTED BET:
MY ULTIMATE COSSIE (10) to win

RACE NINE

Overcoming an outside second line gate at the mile here two starts back, UNCLE TONY (5) was sent forward in the middle stages and was able to grind out the prize. Starting in red figures last start from gate 7, he was a half-neck of repeating the win and can bounce back with the W here.

DUAL CAM (1)
is in super form and backs up from a Marburg victory on Sunday where he was able to repel the early challengers and then dictate from the front to a new track record at 2138. Only a half-neck from posting four successive victories, he has the gate to throw it down.

WARRAWEE FLYER (2)
pressed to the front at the mile last start and once in control held them off to post a 5th victory on this deck. Settling close to the action can see her in the money.

HARPERVILLE (8)
has the second line options here to stay on the poles or move off early. Following a good beginner would see her with a good trip and after a tough run last start, she can feature here.

SELECTIONS: UNCLE TONY (5), DUAL CAM (1), WARRAWEE FLYER (2), HARPERVILLE (8)
SUGGESTED BET:
UNCLE TONY (5) to win
