Q2 Parklands 305m start update

RQ confirms that the 305m starting boxes at Q2 Parklands will remain being used for trialling and educational purposes only, and not for the programming of race events.

The move to The Q has seen the successful transition of short-course racing for participants in South East Queensland to the QStraight, Q1 Lakeside and Capalaba.

When short course racing was previously conducted at Albion Park and Ipswich, there were a total of 1,843 events in FY24 and 1,601 events in FY25. In FY26 (end of April), this has increased to 2,403 races between the Q Straight and the Q1 Lakeside. 

This demonstrates ample opportunity available to participants within the current racing program and participant support for these races.
