Greyhound Retirement Readiness Scheme
As the owner of a racing greyhound in Queensland, you are responsible for its welfare throughout its lifecycle, including at retirement. Under LR11C, owners must rehome their greyhound to an appropriate home.
The Greyhound Retirement Readiness Scheme (GRRS) supports racing industry participants to prepare retired greyhounds for rehoming. The scheme provides reimbursement towards eligible costs for:
- Desexing;
- Dental treatment;
- Vaccination; and
- Pre-anaesthetic blood tests.
The scheme also supports compliance with mandatory desexing requirements under the Greyhounds Australasia Rules and helps improve greyhound health in retirement.
Please read the scheme document before submitting an application.
