Training in Queensland is designed to help individuals gain the skills, qualifications, and experience needed for employment, career development, and participation in priority and emerging industries across the state. It is delivered through the vocational education and training (VET) system, including apprenticeships, traineeships, and nationally recognised courses offered by approved training providers.
The Queensland Government supports training through a range of initiatives that may reduce or subsidise the cost of study, particularly in areas of skills need. These include programs such as Career Start and Career Boost, as well as subsidised apprenticeships, traineeships, and other free or reduced-fee training opportunities. Many training pathways also allow individuals to earn while they learn, particularly through apprenticeship and traineeship arrangements aligned to industry requirements.
