Training in South Australia is designed to help individuals develop the skills needed for employment, career advancement and participation in a changing workforce. It includes a wide range of vocational education and training (VET) options, such as apprenticeships, traineeships and nationally recognised courses delivered by approved training providers across the state.
The South Australian training system is supported by government initiatives that aim to make training more accessible and aligned with industry needs, particularly in areas experiencing skills shortages. Training pathways are available for school leavers, job seekers and workers looking to develop new skills or change careers.
Government-subsidised training places may be available to participants who meet the relevant eligibility requirements. Funding may be subject to course conditions and availability or limited to certain participants, including apprentices and trainees with a training contract and eligible school students undertaking VET.
More information about training opportunities and participant eligibility is available on the Skills SA website.
Skills SA funding
Skills SA funding is a South Australian Government initiative that subsidises the cost of eligible vocational education and training. Funding may be available for approved qualifications and skill sets, including apprenticeships and traineeships.
The subsidy contributes towards the cost of training for eligible students. Student fees or other costs may still apply depending on the course, training provider and individual circumstances.
Am I eligible for subsidised training?
Eligibility may depend on factors including whether you live or work in South Australia, your residency or citizenship status, your chosen course and any conditions attached to the available training place.
