Queensland is Racing, Pacing & Chasing for Pink this September!

Get ready Queensland! This September, we’re racing, pacing, and chasing for a cause as the Pink Ribbon Raceweek returns for 2024

Following the success of the inaugural 2022 Pink Ribbon Raceweek, Racing Queensland is expanding this impactful initiative. In 2023, nearly $400,000 was raised through the efforts of the Gold Coast Turf Club, Sunshine Coast, The Creek, and Bris Greys Pink Ribbon Cup activities.

Now entering its 17th year, the Pink Ribbon Cup is Australia’s largest official community fundraiser for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

2024 Pink Ribbon Raceweek Events

  • Saturday, September 14 - Toowomba Turf Club
  • Sunday, September 15 – Sunshine Coast Turf Club
  • Thursday, September 19 – Queensland Greyhound Racing Club
  • Saturday, September 21 – Gold Coast Turf Club
  • Saturday, September 21 – Albion Park Harness Racing Club

Event Highlights

  • Each racing code will host a feature Pink Ribbon Cup, showcasing pink rugs, saddles, helmet caps, and pink silk pants.
  • All four clubs will serve as ‘community supporters’ for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, with proceeds directly funding breast cancer research.

Fundraising Efforts

In 2024, fundraising will extend to all race meetings from September 15 to September 21. During these 30+ meetings, any horse, greyhound, or harness racer wearing #8 that wins a race will trigger a donation towards breast cancer research, supported by Racing Queensland and the hosting clubs.

Founded by Robyn Cameron, the Pink Ribbon Cup continues to be a major contributor to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, addressing the most common cancer in Australia. With more than 55 Australians diagnosed daily, and one in seven women facing breast cancer in their lifetime, the need for research is more pressing than ever.

The National Breast Cancer Foundation has set an ambitious goal: zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030. Join us in the race to make this vision a reality.

We thanks the following clubs who are committed to helping support fundraising efforts this year:

  • Brisbane Racing Club
  • Ipswich Turf Club
  • Townsville Greys
  • Capalaba Greyhound Racing Club
