Pink Ribbon Raceweek returns for 2026
The Pink Ribbon Raceweek returns in 2026 in support of groundbreaking breast cancer research.
Held from September 19-26, the raceweek will be held with tri-code support, on the back of raising close to $400,000 in the fight against breast cancer in 2025.
The week will be headlined by the 19th running of the Pink Ribbon Cup at the Gold Coast Turf Club on Saturday, September 19.
Founded by Robyn Cameron, the Pink Ribbon Cup Raceday continues to be Australia’s largest official community fundraiser for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).
Last year’s event alone raised over $283,000 for breast cancer research.
The Sunshine Coast Turf Club will also return with its annual Pink Ribbon Raceday on Sunday, September 20, bookending what’s set to be a spectacular start to the first weekend of Pink Ribbon Raceweek.
All race meetings held across the thoroughbred, harness and greyhound codes from September 19 through to September 26 will also help raise vital funds for research.
During these 30-plus meetings, any #8 that takes out a race will see a donation made towards breast cancer research in a collaborative effort between Racing Queensland and the host clubs.
Pink rugs, saddles, helmet caps, and pink silk pants will be on full display across all three codes during the meetings.
Every year, over 21,000 Australians are diagnosed with breast cancer, and around a thousand of those diagnosed are women under the age of 40.
Nine Australians also die from breast cancer every day.
The National Breast Cancer Foundation’s goal is zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030.
