Trot Rods 2026 - Six Weeks of High-Speed Harness Racing
Trot Rods returns in 2026, bringing six weeks of fast, high-intensity harness racing to Redcliffe Harness Racing Club from Wednesday April 15.
With 20 heats including a blockbuster 10 heat finale, every Wednesday night promises edge of your seat entertainment.
Series highlights:
- Weekly Wednesday night heats across the series, culminating in a feature Finale Night on May 20
- All heats run for $7,000 and are NR penalty free
- Maximum field size of five, with one emergency drawn
- Barrier draw based on PBD / average mile rate (last 10 starts)
- Races conducted over 947m (one lap of the Redcliffe circuit)
Performance bonuses:
- A $1,000 Leading Time Bonus will be awarded to the connections of any horse that records a new leading time during the series
- Multiple Leading Time Bonuses may be awarded across the series, including to the same horse if it continues to improve on the leading time
- At the conclusion of the series, the connections of the race horse with the Winning Time in the Trot Rods Series will receive:
- $10,000 Owners Cash Bonus
- $10,000 Trainers Cash Bonus
This year’s series will feature a range of broadcast enhancements, including drone vision, DriverCam, Caller2Driver audio and the Driver Draft of Finale night.
The Trot Rods Series is known for its innovative broadcast presentation with live driver cam footage, enhanced with telemetry display and a time-to-beat line added, the virtual track positioning graphic displayed live on Sky Racing.
