A new two-turn sand track announced for Bundaberg

The redevelopment of the Bundaberg Greyhound Track was announced to proceed in May 2025. It will see the racing surface converted to sand, with Racing Queensland (RQ) and the Bundaberg Greyhound Racing Club to finalise the scope of works, including stakeholder consultation before the appointment of contractor.

The project is jointly funded through the Racing Infrastructure Fund and by RQ.

The facility uses the latest best practice standards for greyhound racing safety, including modern cambers.

Among the amenities established at the new Bundaberg greyhound track are:

  • A two-turn sand track;
  • Track radius and surface banking designed to reduce excessive limb forces acting on greyhounds while racing;
  • Implementation of modern cambers and a world-class racing surface.
