Racing Queensland advises calendar changes for May, June, and July.
Townsville will commence weekly Friday race meetings from May 24, instead of alternating between Friday and Saturday race meetings. The industry will benefit from increased wagering turnover on weekly Friday race meetings. As such, the Saturday race meetings for June 1 and June 15 have been transferred to Friday race meetings on May 31 and June 14.
Furthermore, Townsville will be closed for racing in late June and early July due to the Townsville Show. The last race meeting will be Friday, June 21. Racing will resume on Friday, July 5.
During these two weeks, the following race meeting transfers will apply:
- Rockhampton will race Tuesday night instead of Wednesday night on June 25 and July 2.
- Ipswich will race Wednesday night instead of Thursday on June 26 and July 3.
- Capalaba will race Thursday instead of Wednesday on June 27 and July 4.
