2026 BURWOOD STUD SOUTH EAST DERBY 2138m

    Race details

    RACE 1

MAXO MIGHTY (3) should be able to work forward in this race and may be able to find the front. He can be forgiven for his latest effort when making a break after starting on the back row early which took him out of contention. He has rated fast time when leading at Menangle and could be very hard to catch if he gets things his own way in this race.

NYMBAL (9) has been very good since landing QLD taking out the Redcliffe Derby beating Fire And Passion when running over the top late from off the speed before backing that up beating Yottie in a race he ran home a very slick last half. He draws to do no work in the early stages of this race and should get a reasonable run through early.

MOVE IT LOU (2) may be able to work past Rewatch in the early stages who is seemingly a long way up in grade. He is a very high speed horse that should be very dangerous with a soft run on the pegs. He trialled up well recently at this track and is likely to have derived benefit from that outing given he had a few weeks between runs prior to his trial.

YOTTIE (10) had a tough run on QLD debut two starts ago when sitting outside of Fire And Passion and finishing third in a race taken out by Alwaysbjoy who had done no work when racing on the pegs just behind the speed. He then took on a strong race where he was run down by the classy Nymbal who he takes on again in this race. He likely needs a few things to go his way from the draw but is capable of fighting out the finish with the right run.

SELECTIONS: MAXO MIGHTY (3), NYMBAL (9), MOVE IT LOU (2), YOTTIE (10)

SUGGESTED BET: MAXO MIGHTY (3) to win.

ID26 LADBROKES INTER DOMINION PACING CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND ONE - HEAT 1 2138m

    Race details

    RACE 2

MINOS (11) is one of the main fancies for the series behind Leap To Fame and has been dealt a blow on night one of the series drawing poorly on the back row. He really made a statement two starts ago at this track taking a sit on Sweet On Lexy and running straight by him late in a brilliant 1.51.9 mile rate. He ran another terrific race last start when sitting on the pegs and flashing home into a very good third behind Leap To Fame and The Janitor. Despite the back row draw he clearly looks the horse to beat in this race and should go very close.

BAY OF BISCAY (3) sat one out one back last time out when finishing second behind stablemate Fox Dan. Two starts ago he was able to find the lead at Maryborough before slowing them down to a walk and dashing home a quick last quarter to beat War Dan Buddy. He may be able to work to the lead again in this race and should run well if he can control things out in front.

SWEET ON LEXY (6) he led last time out and rated flying time himself for the 2138 at this track but was just beaten by a better horse in Minos who went on to frank that form running a good third last start to Leap To Fame. He has a front row draw and showed he is capable of doing work in his races two starts ago when breezing and dominating over the mile. He can run a race at odds.

CHEERSTOLOU (8) is one of QLDs better hopes in the series behind the obvious two in Leap To Fame and The Janitor. He hit the line well last time out in behind them in what became a dash home where Marketplace controlled things and ran a quick last quarter. He follows one of the better chances on paper in Max Delight and should be close enough in the run to be dangerous late with luck.

SELECTIONS: MINOS (11), BAY OF BISCAY (3), SWEET ON LEXY (6), CHEERSTOLOU (8)

SUGGESTED BET: MINOS (11) to win.

ID26 LADBROKES INTER DOMINION TROTTING CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND ONE - HEAT 1 2138m

    Race details

    RACE 3

SUSAN IS HER NAME (9) is one of the most exciting runners in the series which has had a large part of her career to date cruelled by injury. She remains the only trotter to have defeated star trotter Keayang Zahara and she was able to do that quite comprehensively when sitting on her back running straight by late. She strikes a winnable heat and should go close.

ROCKINWITHATTITUDE (3) was first up for over a month last start when leading and being run down late by Keayang Stuka. She has good early speed and should be able to find the front in the early stages. She should be hard to run down.

HIDE AND SEEK (2) continued his great association with Mathew Neilson last start when taking out the Redcliffe Trotters Cup last start coming off a 20 metre handicap to score. When he does things right he can show very good gate speed and may be able to zip across and take a sit on one of the fancied runners in the early stages.

ARCEE PHEONIX (6) is the reigning Inter Dominion winner that has returned to QLD to defend his title. He seemingly went well below his best first up when beaten a long way by I Am Wilma. He bounced back putting in a much better run last start finishing third to Keayang Stuka. The draw appears to make things tough for him in this race.

SELECTIONS: SUSAN IS HER NAME (9), ROCKINWITHATTITUDE (3), HIDE AND SEEK (2), ARCEE PHEONIX (6)

SUGGESTED BET: SUSAN IS HER NAME (9) to win.

ID26 LADBROKES INTER DOMINION PACING CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND ONE - HEAT 2 2138m

    Race details

    RACE 4

SPEAK THE TRUTH (6) is one of QLDs best horses and has a very good record having won nearly $900k in prizemoney. He was able to secure a good run last year in the Inter Dominion Final behind Leap To Fame and was able to finish second behind the champion. He seemingly didn’t handle the track at Redcliffe when making a wide run while Final Deadline his star stablemate carved out track record time out in front in his latest start. He is likely to press forward and be driven aggressively in this race and should be very hard to beat.

TRIEDTOTELLYA (1) is a horse with reasonable gate speed that should be able to drive through and lead before having options from there. He had little luck in WA when being scratched from the Nullabor before racing without luck in the Fremantle Cup He returned to Tasmania and scored an easy win last start over the mile.

BIRKIRKARA (8) should get a great run through behind Triedtotellya who is likely to be close enough in the run. He has raced without luck all of this campaign including last start when getting back in a race taken out in fast time by Double Lou. He should get every chance to bounce back.

WAR DAN BUDDY (9) led last start before handing up to his stablemate Bay Of Biscay and being rated out of that race in what became a dash up the straight at Maryborough. He draws poorly in this race and will need some early tempo to bring him into the race.

SELECTIONS: SPEAK THE TRUTH (6), TRIEDTOTELLYA (1), BIRKIRKARA (8), WAR DAN BUDDY (9)

SUGGESTED BET: SPEAK THE TRUTH (6) to win.

ID26 LADBROKES INTER DOMINION TROTTING CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND ONE - HEAT 2 2138m

    Race details

    RACE 5

GUS (2) is the favourite for the overall series and draws ideally to kick things off in this race landing straight in the running line early. He wasn’t knocked around last start when scoring an easy win in fast time at this track and trip. He has high speed and should be hard to beat in this race.

PARISIAN ARTISTE (5) trialled up brilliantly at this track over the 1660 rating a 1.53 mile rate. He has gate speed and is likely to press forward and find a prominent position in this race. If he was able to find the front he would likely be very hard to beat.

KEAYANG STUKA (8) secured a good run last time out behind Rockinwithattitude and was able to run her down late at Melton. He should secure a similar type of run in this race following out Im Bobby which is a horse likely to be keen to hold a forward position.

IM BOBBY (1) showed good gate speed to find the front last start when just being run down late by I Am Wilma in good time. He then raced without much luck last start after starting from inside the back row early. He draws ideally and should run well again.

SELECTIONS: GUS (2), PARISIAN ARTISTE (5), KEAYANG STUKA (8), IM BOBBY (1)

SUGGESTED BET: KEAYANG STUKA (8) each way.

ID26 LADBROKES INTER DOMINION PACING CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND ONE - HEAT 3 2138m

    Race details

    RACE 6

LEAP TO FAME (5) appears to find an excellent opportunity to add another victory to his incredible record in heats and finals of Inter Dominions. He should be able to show enough gate speed to stay underneath The Janitor and if he does that he can roll to the front and should just be leading and winning.

UBETCHA TIGERPIE (2) was driven ultra conservatively last time out at Menangle when being badly held up on the pegs before being dragged out of the race and finishing it off well into fourth late. He should be able to work forward and take a sit on Leap To Fame. If he can find the position on his back through the run he looks a strong place chance.

THE JANITOR (6) ran an excellent race last time out when handing over to Leap To Fame before closing strongly late and running second to him at this track in brilliant time. He draws to his disadvantage this time which is likely to see him doing plenty of work in the run. He looks a place hope in this race.

DANGEROUS (8) trialled exceptionally recently unofficially breaking the track record over the 1660 at Albion Park beating Captains Mistress who lines up as the short priced favourite in The Rising Sun. He follows Amami who is one of the lesser rated horses in the series but has always been competitive up in grade and should hang on long enough to get Dangerous where he needs to be.

SELECTIONS: LEAP TO FAME (5), UBETCHA TIGERPIE (2), THE JANITOR (6), DANGEROUS (8)

SUGGESTED BET: DANGEROUS (8) to place.

2026 YABBY DAM FARMS THE GREAT SQUARE (GROUP 1) 2138m

    Race details

    RACE 7

DASH DOSH (4) was an outstanding run last start in his latest NZ start before heading over to QLD. He was caught wide in the early stages before being shuffled a long way back in the run he then unleashed a powerful sprint to reel in Zoltan while still doing a few things wrong when wanting to hang badly up the home straight. He draws reasonably and looks to be hard to beat.

MERCANO (12) was left without cover two starts ago at Melton and finished fifth behind I Am Wilma when first up from a spell. He then got back again last start and ran through the line fairly behind Keayang Stuka. He draws poorly in this race but may be fitter third up from a spell.

I AM HELLBOUND (11) has become one of NSW’s best trotters in recent months and continued his good run of form last time out at this track when burning to the lead mid race and taking them all the way. He should get a good run off the speed and will be running on strongly late.

TRACY THE JET (5) is a high quality trotter at her best and has an impressive record of 9 wins from just 17 starts. She draws a touch awkwardly in this race but does have gate speed and may look to press forward in the early stages.

SELECTIONS: DASH DOSH (4), MERCANO (12), I AM HELLBOUND (11), TRACY THE JET (5)

SUGGESTED BET: DASH DOSH (4) to win.

2026 RACING & SPORTS THE RISING SUN (GROUP 1) 2138m

    Race details

    RACE 8

CAPTAINS MISTRESS (3) has been sensational since joining the stable of Jason Grimson having been defeat just once in 10 start when completely luckless in the Miracle Mile behind The Janitor and Leap To Fame. She was brilliant in a recent trial where the winner of the trial Dangerous rated 1.48.3 and she looked to be ready to zoom when pulled into the clear and likely would’ve won the trial had she been presented the run. She is a very high speed mare and has been getting quicker off the gate. If she can lead in the early stages she would likely be too good on what we have seen from her this campaign.

FINAL DEADLINE (4) is one of the quickest horses in the country off the gate and will likely be looking to blast across in the early stages which is seemingly his best chance to take out this race. He dominated his latest start in the Redcliffe Cup when working to the front and carving out track record time beating Tyson. If he can lead he has very strong claims in this race.

ZEUS LIGHTNING (1) was the first horse to pick his barrier in this race and connections unsurprisingly elected to start from gate 1. He put in a very good run last time out rating 1.52.9 for the 2138 at this track which suggested he should be ready for a race of this nature. He has good gate speed but has gone a touch roughly early and will need to be at his best to hustle through and hold his position.

MARKETPLACE (6) he raced without luck when first up in Australia having to do plenty of work and battling away well behind Ubetcha Tigerpie for third. He then found the front easily and was really able to slow them down over the 1660 before dashing the last few hundred metres as well as you’d expect a horse of his calibre to given the comfortable mid race sectionals. He appears to face a tough task in this race drawing outside of some very smart horses and is probably best known for his brilliant high speed rather than his toughness. He will need to be very well driven to score but has the right man on board in Luke McCarthy.

SELECTIONS: CAPTAINS MISTRESS (3), FINAL DEADLINE (4), ZEUS LIGHTNING (1), MARKETPLACE (6)

SUGGESTED BET: ZEUS LIGHTNING (1) to place.

2026 BURWOOD STUD SOUTH EAST OAKS 2138m

    Race details

    RACE 9

SPARKLING SEA (13) trialled up smartly in preparation for her QLD campaign when tracking up smart 4YO Cynical and running through the lien nicely. She is a group 1 winner as a 2YO and has only been defeat on 3 occasions through her career. She may be forced to work at some stage in the run but should still be hard to beat.

DEGARMEA TEALE (7) was eye catching on QLD debut last time out when getting back and flashing home into third. That came off the back of what appeared just a moderate trial beating the lesser assessed Racana. She is likely to have derived plenty of benefit from both her recent race and trial and she should run well despite the poor draw.

RIPPLES (5) sat without cover at Redcliffe last start and was beaten a long way in what was seemingly quite a disappointing effort for a horse of her calibre. She may not have handled the tight circuit at Redcliffe and probably isn’t a horse known for her toughness. She may be better at Albion Park and with a more economical run in the race.

SCHOONERS (1) over raced last time out in behind them and was able to reel off a really good last half herself behind the boys in a race taken out by smart youngster Nymbal. She has the gate speed to settle close enough in the run in this race and with a similar effort here back against her own sex she looks a horse that has rough knockout claims.

SELECTIONS: SPARKLING SEA (13), DEGARMEA TEALE (7), RIPPLES (5), SCHOONERS (1)

SUGGESTED BET: SPARKLING SEA (13) to win.

2026 WAYNE WILSON MEMORIAL PALEFACE ADIOS CLASSIC (GROUP 3) 1660m

    Race details

    RACE 10

JACWILL KID (4) is having his first race start for new ownership and trainer Jason Grimson in this race. He was the winner of the Bathurst Gold Crown in his last campaign when leading all the way there. He has trialled up smartly at Albion Park and clearly looks hardest to beat in this race.

BIRDSONG (2) is undefeated in four runs so far having won all four starts at Bathurst. This clearly looks her toughest test to date taking on Jacwill Kid. She trialled up reasonably winning by a big margin and is likely to have derived plenty of benefit from the outing.

BETTER ONE (1) was very impressive last start in the Qbred Breeders Classic final last time out breezing and being beaten by Savage Seas. He draws well in this race which gives him options. He has been left to do the work off the pegs three times so far in his four start career and may appreciate landing on the fence in this race. He should run well.

AARDIES A STAR (3) was forced to race without cover last start and dug deep to score a good win over the in-form Sassaba. He appears to be a horse that is still learning to race and is likely to have derived plenty of benefit from his latest outing. He should get a soft run just off the speed and can run well again.

SELECTIONS: JACWILL KID (4), BIRDSONG (2), BETTER ONE (1), AARDIES A STAR (3)

SUGGESTED BET: JACWILL KID (4) to win.
