SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
Eagle Farm 12/11/25
Race 1: 7. AMOSU - Trainer L. Birchley advised that following a disappointing performance a blood analysis was conducted on AMOSU, which revealed the filly to have a low-grade infection and subsequently was treated with antibiotics. He further added that it is his intention to trial or jump out the filly in the coming weeks and an endoscopic examination may be conducted post-trial.
GENERAL
Stewards permitted the following overweight:
Race 7: Jockey J. Bayliss +1kg (54kg)
Prior to the running of Race 1, Stewards inspected the track and upgraded it to a Soft 6 at 10:42am.
Trainer M. Dunn was fined $200 under LR67(1) for the late declaration of A. Mallyon as the rider of SHE’S EXOTIC in Race 9.
Prior to the running of Race 9, lightning was detected in the area and as a result the following race times were amended:
Race 9: 5:15pm
Race 10: 5:46pm
RACE 1: ROAD TO MAGIC MILLIONS BOOK NOW QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP 1200 M
The start of this event was delayed approximately 3 mins owing to MAGRITTE losing its near hind plate and having to be reshod behind the barriers. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
ITCHINTOGO – Began awkwardly. Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight.
ZIP LOCK – Began awkwardly.
BOOMELLI – Became fractious prior to the start being effected. Began very awkwardly and shifted in abruptly. Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight. Jockey B. Thompson reported at scale that his mount raced flat and was disappointing when placed under pressure. He further added that the filly may have come to the end of its preparation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed upper respiratory noises and blood in its mouth. Trainer T. Gollan was advised that a veterinary certificate inclusive of an endoscopic examination would be required prior to racing again. Trainer T. Gollan advised that the filly would now be sent for a spell.
MAGRITTE – Raced greenly in the early stages. Jockey M. Du Plessis was reprimanded pursuant to AR 132(7)(a)(1) for using his whip in consecutive strides prior to the 100m.
LEAVES OF LORIEN – Slow to begin. Raced wide.
THE RASCAL - Lost its off-hind plate in the tie up stalls and had to be reshod. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Hampered shortly after the start.
MISHANI RAINFIRE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Over-raced in the early stages. Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight.
RACE 2: BECOME A BRC MEMBER BENCHMARK 90 HANDICAP 2000 M
NIKAU SPUR (NZ) - A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in its off foreleg. Co-Trainer C. Geran was advised that a veterinary certificate would be required prior to racing again.
TAPILDOODLEDO (NZ) – Began awkwardly. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted today, Jockey M. Du Plessis explained that his instructions were not to settle in a forward position. He further added that TAPILDOODLEDO (NZ) raced flat and failed to respond when asked for an effort. Trainer K. Taplin confirmed these instructions, however, added that she was surprised to see the gelding settle as far back as it did. She also stated that with a drop back in distance, TAPILDOODLEDO (NZ) proved to be disappointing in its efforts and consideration would now be placed into sending the gelding for a spell. Trainer K. Taplin was reminded of her obligations pursuant to AR100(1)(a) regarding instructions that could be considered a change of tactics. Stewards advised Trainer K. Taplin to report back on the gelding’s condition in the subsequent days.
CONNECTICUT – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Lost its near hind plate.
NAVAL COMMISSION – When questioned regarding the tactics adopted today, Jockey R. Dolan explained that with no firm instructions and with little speed shown by other runners, after beginning well, he elected to allow his mount to stride forward and take up a leading position.
COUNTER (GB) – Jockey A. Jones was reprimanded pursuant to AR 132(6)(b) for using her whip in an action that raised it above shoulder height. When asked to comment, Jockey A. Jones reported that with a step up in class COUNTER (GB) proved disappointing, however could offer no other explanation for the geldings’ disappointing performance. Trainer C. Geran concurred with the comments of A. Jones and also advised Stewards that in his opinion the tempo of the race did not suit COUNTER (GB).
STEEL BLAZE – Over-raced in the middle stages. Held up from the 300m to the 200m.
RACE 3: U&U RECRUITMENT QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP 1600 M
The start of this event was delayed approximately 3 mins, owing to DUSHENKA having to be resaddled behind the barriers.
WILY JACK – Bumped on jumping away. Had to be steadied from the heels of NORTY FORTY, which shifted out near the 1200m. Apprentice E. Lang the rider of NORTY FORTY was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(a) for careless riding. Near the 500m, laid in under pressure.
DUSHENKA – Raced wide without cover throughout. Near the 250m, momentarily had to be steadied after laying out marginally towards the heels of VANDEVELDE which also laid in.
VANDEVELDE – Severely inconvenienced on jumping away and lost ground. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
INQUISITOR – Began awkwardly and bumped WILY JACK resulting in Apprentice J. Williams momentarily losing his near-side iron. Near the 1100m had to be steadied from the heels of WILY JACK. Apprentice J. Williams was reprimanded pursuant to AR 132(6)(b) for using his whip in an action that raised it above shoulder height. Apprentice J. Williams reported that his mount became agitated prior to the start of the event and in his opinion may have contributed to the geldings’ disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
POWER REECE – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages. Had a tendency to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
NORTY FORTY – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
PIERTAGA – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
RACE 4: SOUTHS SPORTS CLUB FILLIES AND MARES CLASS 3 PLATE 1350 M
EL MORZILLO – Began awkwardly and contacted the outside barrier partition on jumping away. When asked to comment, Apprentice C. Sutherland reported that he was not entirely disappointed in the performance of the mare and felt that the tempo of the race was not favorable for EL MORZILLO.
STAR ACT – Slow to begin.
IRON GRACE – Began awkwardly. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
MORE FOR READY – Over-raced near the 900m.
SIRKEL – Laid out rounding the home turn and when placed under pressure it the early stages of the home straight.
After the running of this race, Stewards upgraded the track to a Soft 5 at 1:36pm.
RACE 5: SKY RACING BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1600 M
EXPECTANT – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped GREAT ASPIRATIONS (NZ).
FOUR ACE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
NOBLE CONQUEROR – Bumped with SOCIAL OUTCAST on jumping away. When asked to comment on the performance of NOBLE CONQUEROR, Jockey R. Maloney reported that the gelding raced flat and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor abrasion to the offside corner of its mouth.
GREAT ASPIRATIONS (NZ) – Bumped on jumping away. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
AMERICAN PHIREBALL – Began awkwardly.
SIZZLING GAL – Raced wide throughout.
SOCIAL OUTCAST– Bumped with NOBLE CONQUEROR on jumping away.
CONTILDA'S LOVE – Shifted in and bumped SOCIAL OUTCAST at the winning post.
RACE 6: SENQ CLASS 6 HANDICAP 1600 M
FREE CARRY – Jockey E. Lang was reprimanded pursuant to AR 132(6)(b) for using her whip in an action that raised it above shoulder height.
EXPRESS PAYMENT - Jockey A. Jones was fined $100 pursuant to AR 132(6)(b) for using her whip in an action that raised it above shoulder height.
EXCEED SPEED – Began awkwardly. Jockey R. Maloney reported at scale that his mount was inclined to over-race which in his opinion had a detrimental effect on its finishing efforts. Lost its off-hind plate. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
BLAZEN BOOTS (NZ) – Connections advised of a change of tactics in that BLAZEN BOOTS (NZ) would attempt to settle further back with cover from a wide barrier. Settled in a position at the rear of the field.
THE LITTLE PUMPER – Raced wide without cover throughout.
LARRIKIN ROGUE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Held up near the 250m before being directed outwards near the 200m to secure clear running.
RACE 7: MORETON HIRE KEITH NOUD 1200 M
IT'SOURTIME – Began awkwardly.
ROCKRIBBED – Began awkwardly and bumped with SECRET PLAN and lost ground. Had to be steadied from heels near the 800m. When asked to comment on the performance of ROCKRIBBED, Jockey R. Maloney reported that after beginning only fairly he was obliged to settle further back in the field than anticipated. He further added that the gelding was disappointing in its finishing efforts. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
TORABELLA – Raced wide.
SECRET PLAN – Began awkwardly and bumped with ROCKRIBBED. Near the 800m, had to be checked to avoid the heels of IT'SOURTIME, which shifted in when insufficiently clear and as a result SECRET PLAN lost its rightful running. Jockey J. Huxtable the rider of IT'SOURTIME was charged and pleaded guilty pursuant to AR 131(a) for careless riding, the particulars being that near the 800m, he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of SECRET PLAN, causing that runner to be checked from the heels of IT'SOURTIME and lose its rightful running. Jockey J. Huxtable had his license to ride in races suspended for a period of 11 days commencing midnight 23rd of November and concluding midnight 4th of December 2025. Jockey J. Huxtable was advised of his right of appeal. Raced wide.
EDITED BY – Near the 800m, momentarily raced in restricted room to the inside of SECRET PLAN when IT’SOURTIME commenced to shift in. Commenced to lay in near the 600m.
SAFEWORK – Connections advised of a change of tactics in that SAFEWORK would be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. Failed to muster speed in the early stages and as a result settled back in the field. Near the 500m, raced in restricted room and had to be steadied.
Following the running of this race, Stewards upgraded the track to a Good 4.
RACE 8: DRINKWISE COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES CLASS 3 PLATE1350 M
EL PENSADOR – Hampered shortly after the start and lost ground.
GELATIN – Inconvenienced shortly after the start. Near the 800m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of the riderless HEMAN.
HEMAN – Blundered on jumping, dislodging its rider. Jockey M. Harley was examined by the club doctor and found to have right shoulder pain and was subsequently stood down from his remaining riding engagements. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
ORIENTE – Near the 500m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of the riderless HEMAN.
SILVANITO - Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after presenting with an existing superficial wound to its off-hind leg and was cleared to start.
GUNROOM – Shifted out shortly after the start before being corrected by its rider. Near the 700m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of the riderless HEMAN. Jockey C. Graham reported that her mount was inclined to over-race and after suffering interference from the riderless horse near the 700m failed to travel comfortably and in her opinion this had a detrimental effect on its finishing efforts.
TEN GOOD REASONS (NZ) – Approaching the 50m, improved onto the heels of the tiring GUNROOM and had to be checked. When asked to comment on the performance of TEN GOOD REASONS (NZ) Jockey J. Guthmann-Chester reported that his mount travelled well until the 600m, however when placed under pressure, failed to let down and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
Following the running of this race after heavy showers passed through the vicinity, the track was downgraded to a Soft 5.
RACE 9: XXXX NO METRO WINS HANDICAP 1110 M
The start of this event was delayed after lighting was detected in the vicinity of the racecourse.
PARETO – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
SHOT OF WHISKEY (NZ) – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
THANKYOU HENRY – When asked to comment on the performance of THANKYOU HENRY, Jockey C. Graham reported that her mount travelled well, however failed to let down on the rain affected track and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
SHE'S EXOTIC – Raced wide.
BUNDELLA – Began awkwardly. Near the 900m, whilst over-racing became awkwardly placed on the heels of THANKYOU HENRY when that runner shifted in. Jockey C. Graham, the rider of THANKYOU HENRY was reminded of her obligations to exercise greater care when shifting ground in similar circumstances. Near the 700m, laid in and became unbalanced and again at the 600m and lost ground. When asked to comment on the performance of BUNDELLA, Jockey A. Jones reported that BUNDELLA raced ungenerously throughout and may not have appreciated today’s racing conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
QUEEN OF A HAND – Began awkwardly, lost ground and as a result Jockey M. Du Plessis lost his off-side iron momentarily. Commenced to over-race approaching the 900m and had to be steadied. Jockey M. Du Plessis reported at scale that he had intended to settle further forward, however, after beginning awkwardly and losing his off-side iron, he was unable to pressure his mount early and as a result settled at the rear of the field.
Following the running of this race, Stewards downgraded the track to a Soft 7 retrospective to Race 9.
RACE 10: LADBROKES BIG BETS CLASS 6 PLATE 1200 M
CASPERNOVA – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped SER JOH.
PEREILLE – Jockey D. Moor reported that the gelding never travelled comfortably and may not have appreciated today’s rain affected track conditions.
LUBRICATION – Hampered and lost ground at the start.
SER JOH – Slow to begin and was then hampered shortly after the start.
STREET CHASE – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Laid out whilst weakening in the home straight. When asked to comment on the performance of STREET CHASE, Jockey A. Mallyon reported that his mount travelled well in the early and middle stages, however when placed under pressure, it proved to be disappointing. He further added that having not started in over a month, in his opinion STREET CHASE would derive benefit from today’s event. Trainer J. Mason concurred with the comments of Jockey A. Mallyon. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
SURPRISE HONEY – Began awkwardly.
DREAM SMART – Raced wide.
