Race 1: BAKERS REFRIGERATION BENCHMARK 78 Handicap 1000 metres
 
GENZAI THE WOLF – Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
NEVER PAID – Raced wide early stages.
 
FETCH – Held up for clear running rounding home turn until the 200m.
 
SAFEWORK – Raced wide throughout.
 
CROSSWINDS – Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed the gelding to be displaying a slow post-race recovery and mild heat stress.
 
HEADWALL – Inside the 100m, was carried in by MISHANI SNIPER which laid in under pressure.
 
MISHANI SNIPER – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Held up from the 500m and was obliged to shift wider on entering the home straight to improve into clear running. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
ENABLER – Began awkwardly and lost ground. 
 
RUBY JULY – Began awkwardly. Improved into a marginal run approaching the 300m and had to be momentarily steadied. Obliged to alter course approaching the 200m to secure clear running.
 
 
Race 2: THE BRAD JARRETT MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 85 Handicap 1815 metres
 
KALAPOUR (IRE) – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
DOUCEUR – Slow to begin.
 
FESTIVAL PRINCE – Improved onto heels approaching the 1400m and had to be steadied.
 
FORT WAYNE – Connections advised of a change of tactics in that they will attempt to settle further forward if circumstances permit.  Ridden accordingly.
 
Race 3: COCA-COLA NO SUGAR RASPBERRY BENCHMARK 78 Handicap 1600 metres
 
MIYAKE – Hampered on jumping.
 
OUTBURST – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight until approaching the 200m whereby it was obliged to shift in to improve.
 
SECRET TALES – Began awkwardly and hampered shortly after.
 
CHASING JACKLEY – Passing the 1100m had to be restrained after improving onto heels of GRINZINGER KNIGHT. Forced to shift wider and in doing so carried PRIVATE BANKER wider on the track.
 
PRIVATE BANKER – Began awkwardly and hampered shortly after. Raced fiercely throughout, and on passing the 1300m improved onto the heels of THE GENERAL, before continuing to race fiercely. Passing the 1100m, carried wider by CHASING JACKLEY and raced three wide from that point. Passing the 300m, had to be restrained to avoid the heels of SECRET TALES, which shifted out and BULLOO, which shifted in. Both jockey N. Beriman and apprentice A. Jones were advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities apart from a minor wound on the near fore coronet band. Trainer Ms D Forster was advised that a warning will be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
 
SEMAPHORE GIRL – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room to the inside of OUTBURST passing the 1400m and as a result had to be steadied.
 
BULLOO – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room to the inside of OUTBURST passing the 1400m and as a result had to be steadied. Over raced during the early and middle stages.  Passing the 1200m, had to be restrained off the heels of A BIG CHANCE.
 
Race 4: FRESH SELECTIONS QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1000 metres
 
Due to a traffic incident enroute and consequent late arrival on course, ROTHGO underwent pre-race veterinary inspection and was cleared to start. TRICKETEER, AVONE, RUBAAHY, and SZABO were all declared late scratching’s at 12.30pm after failing to arrive on course.
 
MISHANI GANGSTER – Laid in leaving the 700m. 
 
SONNY DAZE – Connections advised of a change of tactics – from wide gate likely to settle further back than its usual racing pattern. Ridden accordingly. Began awkwardly.
 
TORQUE I TEE – Began awkwardly. Leaving the 700m, was obliged to steady when awkwardly placed at the heels of MISHANI GANGSTER which laid in.
 
GLASS OF ROSE – Raced wide early.
 
ABOUNDING – Raced wide throughout. Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
PLATINUM LIES – Began awkwardly and hampered shortly after. Approaching the 600m, hampered when racing in restricted room.
 
SALT LAKE BETTY – Began awkwardly and hampered shortly after. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and was obliged to shift wider to improve passing the 250m.
 
Race 5: INSPIRED BUILT No Metro Wins Handicap 1400 metres
 
MOTOMISS – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after an enroute traffic incident and was declared a scratching at 1.15pm.
 
THE DROVER – Raced wide for the majority.
 
GOOD CHAT – Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no significant findings.
 
WHY WE DRINK – Restrained in the early stages from the wide draw to a position closer to the rail. Approaching the 200m, became awkwardly placed on the heels of COMMAND KING.
 
BANDIT – Raced keenly during the early stages. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight until the 250m. Raced in restricted room approaching the 50m.
 
NATIONAL CHOICE – Raced keenly in the early stages. 
 
NISHIKORI – Permission was granted for Apprentice J. Lloyd to only claim 1kg of his allowance. Apprentice J. Lloyd was fined $200 pursuant to AR143(14)(a) in that he failed to claim his full allowance.
 
SABALENKA (NZ) – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
AMICUS CURIAE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
 
Race 6: THE CAGE YOUTH FOUNDATION Class 3 Plate 1200 metres
 
BORN A WARRIOR – Slow to begin.
 
THATFEELSBETTER – Began awkwardly. Over raced during the early stages.
 
INVINCIBLE COURAGE (IRE) – Over raced throughout.
 
BILLIONAIR BABY – Began awkwardly.
 
AUREUS ANGEL – Raced wide throughout.
 
REEANON – Began awkwardly.
 
COUNT DA BEANS – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
DAME CARTLAND – Raced wide throughout. 
 
BEFANA – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after an enroute traffic delay, and was cleared to start. 
 
MAXIE TAP (NZ) – Raced wide throughout. 
 
Race 7: SKY RACING Class 6 Handicap 1200 metres
 
FASHCHANEL (NZ) – Raced wide throughout.
 
PALLADAS – Hampered on jumping and lost ground.
 
MO'S CROWN – Began awkwardly. Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 150m.
 
ACROBATIC – Began awkwardly.
 
KIPSBAY – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped ANTINO. Over raced during the early and middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight and passing the 150m shifted in carrying FASHCHANEL onto MO’S CROWN. When questioned regarding the performance of KIPSBAY, jockey T. Marshall stated that after beginning awkwardly, he was unable to take up a leading position, resulting in the gelding over racing and unable to finish off the race as expected. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
ANTINO (NZ) – Hampered on jumping and lost ground.
 
NANO STAR – Restrained off heels of MO’S CROWN near the 900m. Raced in restricted room passing the 300m to the inside of MO’S CROWN which laid in under pressure. 
 
Race 8: JONES & CO IGA DAYBREAK LOVER 1400 metres
 
WAITAK (NZ) – Slow to begin. Over raced during the early and middle stages. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight. Approaching the 150m, obliged to check and shift in to avoid the heels of WOLVERINE which shifted in under pressure. Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages between WOLVERINE which laid in and BROOKHAVEN.
 
THE VOWELS – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
CRANKY HARRY – Leaving the 150m, was checked between runners. Stewards adjourned an inquiry into this incident to a time and date to be fixed.
 
BROOKHAVEN – Leaving the 150m, had its hindquarters turned by CRANKY HARRY who was forced to check. Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages and was buffeted on a number of occasions by WAITAK.
 
WOLVERINE (NZ) – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
EKATERINA – Raced wide throughout.
 
NOAH 'N' A DEEL – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed NOAH ‘N’ A DEEL to be displaying cardiac arrythmia. Trainer Mr L. Kelly was advised that the gelding will require a veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG and must also barrier trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again. 
 
SPEAK UP – Dropped its head as the start was effected, began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced in restricted room approaching the finish line and was unable to be fully tested.
 
Race 9: LADBROKES ASCOT HANDICAP 1000 metres
 
SOXAGON – Began awkwardly. Passing the 900m, was obliged to steady to avoid the heels of GARIBALDI which shifted in to obtain cover. Jockey K. Wilson-Taylor was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.
 
ZOUSTYLE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
EMERALD KINGDOM – Began awkwardly, shifts in and contacts GARIBALDI. Raced wide throughout.
 
STARTANTES – Passing the 150m was obliged to shift in to improve.
 
GARIBALDI – Began awkwardly. On returning to scale, GARIBALDI was found to have bled from both nostrils. As this was the second occurrence, connections were advised that the gelding would now be subject to a mandatory lifetime ban from racing.
 
BANDIPUR – Passing the 500m, momentarily inconvenienced by GARIBALDI which shifted in marginally.  
 
SNEAKY FIVE – Slow to begin and hampered shortly afterwards. Became awkwardly placed on heels approaching the winning post.
 
JE SUIS BELLE – Jumped in at the start and hampered SNEAKY FIVE. Raced wide throughout.
 
ALPINE EDGE – Slow to begin. Passing the 600m, raced in restricted room to the inside of SOXAGON. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight. Following the event co-trainer T. Edmonds advised that the gelding had cast its off-fore plate which he believed to have occurred when the gelding stumbled during the preliminary and was not noticed until after the event.
