RACE 1: RACECOURSE VILLAGE MAIDEN HANDICAP         1830 M

CAVARETTA – Held up for clear running from the 300m until passing the 200m.
 
FLAMING MAREE (NZ) – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the middle stages.
 
LA GRACIA (NZ) – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
LILLY 'N' ROSE – Laid in in the home straight. When questioned regarding the performance of LILLY ‘N’ ROSE, Jockey A. Allen reported that he could offer no explanation for today’s performance. He further added, when placed under pressure in the home straight, the mare failed to respond to his riding and weakened considerably. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Following today’s disappointing performance, Trainer D. Murphy was advised that LILLY ‘N’ ROSE would be stood down from metropolitan races until such time its form improves to the requisite standards.
 
SHE CAN SOAR – Restrained from a wide barrier shortly after the start to obtain a position closer to the inside running rail. Passing the 800m had to be steadied after improving onto the heels of LILLY ‘N’ ROSE.
 
RACE 2: GALLOPERS SPORTS CLUB CLASS 3 PLATE       1830 M

ICHIBAN – Slow to begin. When attempting to shift out to improve passing the 500m, contacted SIR LAMORAK (IRE) and after being disappointed for that run shifted back in. Hampered passing the 50m by SIR LAMORAK (IRE), which shifted in under pressure.
 
SIR LAMORAK (IRE) – Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 500m by ICHIBAN, which attempted to shift out to improve. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Passing the 50m, shifted in and contacted ICHIBAN.
 
CHERISH THE DAY – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after becoming fractious in the float and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly and lost ground. Over-raced in the middle stages. Passing the 1300m, had to be steadied after improving onto the heels of SIR LAMORAK (IRE). Passing the 1000m was momentarily inconvenienced by PLANNED ENCOUNTER (NZ), which attempted to shift out to improve. On return to scale, Jockey B. Thompson stated that after being slow to begin, he was forced to settle at the rear of the field. He added that his mount over raced in the middle stages of the event which may have been detrimental to its finishing efforts. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer D. Vandyke reported that CHERISH THE DAY would now be sent for a spell.
 
PLANNED ENCOUNTER (NZ) – Passing the 1000m, attempted to shift out to improve and after being unable to do so, maintained a position on the rail.


RACE 3: SPRING CARNIVAL ON SALE NOW MAIDEN HANDICAP   1400 M

OLD FAITHFUL (NZ) – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped KACHI. Over-raced in the early stages when racing in restricted room. Passing the 1200m, shifted out and became awkwardly placed on the heels of HE'SGOTTHESAY. Approaching the 800m, had to be steadied after improving onto the heels of REPLICA.
 
CRYPTO MAGIC – Over-raced in the early stages. Passing the 1100m shifted out whilst being restrained after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of TULONG, which shifted in to obtain cover. Jockey C. Graham the rider of TULONG was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground in similar circumstances. Raced wide from the 800m.
 
NICCONIUM – Near the 800m, had to be steadied after improving onto the heels of ROXSET.
 
SOMETHING SHINY – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled bilaterally on the first occasion. Trainer B. Lockwood was advised SOMETHING SHINY would be stood down from racing under AR79 (4) for 3 months and must officially trial, jump out or gallop 1000m satisfactorily, in the presence of a Steward prior to racing again.
 
IN SOCIETY – Raced wide.
 
BILTMORE – When questioned regarding the performance of BILTMORE, Jockey A. Jones reported that the gelding travelled comfortably until the 700m, however when placed under pressure in the home straight, failed to respond to her riding and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed cardiac arrythmia. Trainers representative B. Killion was advised that the gelding would require a satisfactory ECG report of more than 60 seconds at rest and a satisfactory cardiac auscultation to be performed within 15 minutes of completing a 1000m gallop in the presence of stewards prior to racing again.
 
PECCAVI – Raced wide.
 
REPLICA – Connections advised of a change of tactics in that REPLICA would attempt to settle more forward. Ridden accordingly.
 
KACHI - Over-raced in the early stages when racing in restricted room.
 
ROXSET – Near the 800m, had to be steadied off the heels of OLD FAITHFUL (NZ).
 

RACE 4: LADBROKES BET TICKER QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1400 M

BOOMTOWN LADDIE – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
EXODAS –Jockey C. Graham reported on return to scale that the gelding raced flat and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
 
FAMAHAN – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped FLOP SHOT.
 
FLASHMASTER – Bumped at the start.
 
FLOP SHOT – Bumped at the start.
 
NOTTINGTON PRINCE – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 1000m, had to take evasive action and was carried wider when having to avoid the heels of DIVERSITY, which shifted out abruptly when racing in restricted room. Raced wide throughout. When questioned regarding the performance of NOTTINGHAM PRINCE, Jockey R. Dolan reported that the gelding was inclined to lay out throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer O. Cairns was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding in relation to its poor performance. Trainer O. Cairns reported that the stable would advise on NOTTINGTON PRINCE’s condition over the days subsequent.
 
SEVILO (NZ) – Laid out throughout the event. When placed under pressure in the home straight, shifted out under pressure. When asked to comment on the performance of SEVILO (NZ), Jockey M. Rodd reported that he advised the stable that the colt may benefit from the application of blinkers. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
DIVERSITY – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 1000m shifted out abruptly whilst racing in restricted room. Raced in restricted room for a short distance passing the 400m.
 When asked to comment on the performance of DIVERSITY, Jockey R. Hutchings reported that in his opinion the filly would appreciate a step up in distance, however would derive fitness benefit from today’s race. Raced in restricted room for a short distance passing the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the thumps and a slow recovery.
 
HEAVENLY CONQUEST– Slow to begin. Obliged to alter course and shift wider on entering the home straight to improve into clear running.
 
QUEEN JEDDAH – Bumped at the start. Momentarily inconvenienced on entering the home straight.
 


RACE 5: XXXX GOLD BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP         2200 M

LUPINE (NZ) – When questioned regarding the tactics adopted today, in particular settling in a leading position, Jockey J. Huxtable reported that after being slow away last start at DOOMBEN on the 13th of September 2025, his instructions today were to allow the gelding to settle where comfortable. He added that after being trapped three wide early, LUPINE (NZ) was obliged to do extra work and then failed to travel comfortably at any stage of the race. Jockey J. Huxtable stated that in his opinion the gelding may be better suited to a step down in distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed Trainer M. Currie advised that LUPINE (NZ) would now be going for a spell and that with a different preparation may be better suited to this distance.
 
TAREX (NZ) – Near the 1300m, had to be steadied after improving onto heels whilst over-racing.
 
PUNJABI LANDING – Slow to begin.
 
SHAPE OF WATER – Laid in on entering the home straight and approaching the 350m, became awkwardly placed in the heels of TAREX (NZ) which shifted out. Jockey A. Thompson the rider of TAREX (NZ) was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(a) for shifting ground when insufficiently clear.
 
TEWKESBURY– Laid in under pressure in the home straight and was obliged to alter course passing the 250m.
 
EMPIRE OF ART (GER) - Held up for clear running for a short distance passing the 500m.
 
 
RACE 6: ROAD TO MAGIC MILLIONS ON SALE NOW BENCHMARK 75 HANDICAP        1000 M
 
The start of this event was delayed approximately 3 mins owing to THE LUCKY ALIEN casting its near hind plate and having to be reshod behind the barriers. Underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection and was cleared to start.
 
MR GALAZI – Over-raced in the middle stages. Approaching the 600m became awkwardly placed on the heels of STAR AMBITION, shifted out and raced in restricted room for a considerable distance.
 
SHALAMAN – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped heavily with BLUE SPINEL. Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 500m by STANISLAUS, which attempted to shift out to improve and shortly after straightening, was again hampered by STANISLAUS which was attempting to shift out to improve.
 
ARISPHERE – Hampered passing the 350m by MAGURO, which shifted out under riding. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
THE LUCKY ALIEN – Slow to begin.
 
BLUE SPINEL – Momentarily inconvenienced shortly after straightening by ARISPHERE, which was carried out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
STAR AMBITION – Approaching the winning post, was obliged to check and lost ground to avoid the heels of PORT ERIN, which shifted in. Jockey J. Guthmann-Chester the rider of PORT ERIN, pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR 131(a), the particulars being that approaching the winning post, he allowed his mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear of STAR AMBITION which as a result, was obliged to check and lost its rightful running. Jockey J. Guthmann – Chesters’ license to ride in races was suspended for 14 days commencing midnight the 28th of September 2025 and concluding midnight 12th of October 2025.
 

RACE 7: SKY RACING CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1600 M

ACOSTA – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Held up for a short distance passing the 600m before shifting out to improve.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed upper respiratory noises. Trainer M. Dunn was advised that a veterinary certificate including the results of an endoscopic examination would be required prior to racing next.
 
RAG QUEEN – When questioned regarding the tactics adopted, in particular settling further forward in today’s event, Apprentice J. McMurray reported that after beginning well and being trapped wide in the early stages he allowed his mount to stride forward and take up a leading position.
 
MAN OF THE TOWN – Had difficulty obtaining clear running on entering the home straight, before being able to shift wider to improve.
 
BERTUS – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
BOLE LE – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
FUNKY ME – Laid out under pressure approaching the 200m. Near the 250m, Apprentice T. Fenlon momentarily dropped her offside rein before regathering it a short distance later.
 
KICKUPHIGH – Over-raced in the middle stages.
 
STEEL IMPACT – Hampered at the start.
 
MAURITA – Over-raced in the middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 

RACE 8: STEVE WILSON AM CELEBRATION BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP        1400 M

THE LITTLE PUMPER – Over-raced in the middle stages.
 
NOBLE CONQUEROR – Laid out rounding the home turn.
SENESCHAL (IRE) – Raced in restricted room on entering the home straight. Disappointed for a run passing the 300m between THE LITTLE PUMPER and HELL AND BACK, which both shifted ground marginally. Passing the 150m, was obliged to shift wider to improve.
 
DISNEY CASTLE – When asked to comment on the improved performance of DISNEY CASTLE, Trainers representative B. Killion stated that on face value DISNEY CASTLE’s performance last start was not overly disappointing and that the stable was confident that with the drop back in class and how the mare had performed leading in todays event they were confident of a more forward showing.
 
READY AZZ EVA – Over-raced in the middle stages. When asked to comment, Jockey A. Jones stated that the gelding may not have appreciated today’s racing surface. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery and elevated heart rate.
 
ARALETTA – Connections advised of a change of tactics in that ARALETTA would attempt to settle more forward. Ridden accordingly.
 
NINJITZOU – Over-raced in the middle stages when being restrained to obtain cover. Had difficulty obtaining clear running on entering the home straight. Shifted in passing the 350m in an attempt to improve to the inside of CODE IN TIME, however was disappointed for that run an obliged to shift wider to improve into clear running. Jockey D. Moor reported at scale that in his opinion NINJITZOU may not have appreciated today’s racing surface.
