GENERAL

Stewards approved the following overweight request:
Race 5. M. Palmer +0.5kg

Race 1: TAB WE'RE ON MAIDEN HANDICAP         1000 Metres

BOOMTIME NOW – Underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection after having not started for an extended period of time. Slow to begin. Raced wide with cover throughout. 
 
PAPER DOLL – Bumped shortly after the start. Raced three wide without cover from the 700m. Passing the 500m, momentarily inconvenienced when ENHANCE laid out. For some distance after the 300m, laid in.
 
TAKE ACHANCE ON ME – Raced wide with cover.
 
TAMIEKA WARRIOR – Slow to begin.
 
FORTUNATE DRAGON – Slow to begin. Passing the 700m, momentarily inconvenienced when DOWNTOWN EVIE shifted in before being corrected.
 
REMOMIA – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
Following the running of this race, the track was upgraded to a Good (4).
 

Race 2: HUTCHINSON BUILDERS QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP     1000 Metres
 
On loading into the barriers, HELLO PUNTERS got its near foreleg up between the barrier partitions and was declared a late withdrawal on veterinary advice at 2.25pm. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all bets placed on HELLO PUNTERS be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
1st CHARLIE TANGO 7c win, 9c place
2nd VAREJAO 6c place
3rd GLACIELE 7c place
 
Co-trainer M. Sears was advised HELLO PUNTERS must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to racing again.
 
EXCELBOOM – Raced wide without cover. Apprentice C. Baker reported her saddle slipped backwards on jumping, placing her at somewhat a disadvantage through the race.
 
GLACIELE – Raced greenly in the home straight obliging rider D. Turner to stop and correct on several occasions. Approaching the winning post, shifted out abruptly resulting in EGYPTIAN GODDESS, which was making ground quickly, to be steadied. Trainer J. Patton was advised a warning would be placed on the racing manners of the colt. 
 
BELLOVE – Raced wide early.
 
BETTER MISS – Rider G. Cartwright advised the filly felt amiss behind in running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer K. Schweida advised BETTER MISS will now be spelled.  
 
 
 
Race 3: DONNA TOWNLEY MEMORIAL COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES CLASS 1 HANDICAP         1100 Metres

RIVER RIBBLE – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
GORBACHEV – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
BRUCKHEIMER – Passing the 700m contacted the rail and became unbalanced behind. When under pressure in the straight, shifted considerable ground. Apprentice B. Youngberry was advised that in similar circumstances, she must stop riding and straighten her mounts.  
 
SOLIDUDE – Underwent a saddle adjustment on arrival at the barriers.
 
LI'L REX – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly early with its head up.
 

Race 4: CMAA GOLD COAST 20TH ANNIVERSARY FILLIES AND MARES CLASS 1 HANDICAP      1100 Metres

MEHRETU – Approaching the 700m, checked from heels of KAHLUA GIRL, shifted in, contacting the hindquarters of MISS DRAMATIC, which became badly unbalanced behind. Steadied and shifted when disappointed for a run between CHILPUR and MARATHIA near the 250m.
 
IMMEDIATE – Slow to begin. Approaching the 600m, steadied when awkwardly placed between MEHRETU and MARATHIA. Raced wide round the home turn. Rider M. Wishart pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on ten occasions prior to the 100m and twelve in totality. M Wishart’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of eight days commencing midnight the 18th of October until midnight the 26th of October 2025. When considering penalty, account was taken of her guilty plea, record and the QRIC Whip Penalty Guidelines.
 
CAXTON LASS – Underwent a saddle adjustment on arrival at the barriers. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 400m until passing the 200m.
 
CHILPUR – Slow to begin. Raced three-wide without cover.
 
MARATHIA – Slow to begin. Raced keenly early. Momentarily steadied from heels passing the 800m.
 
MISS DRAMATIC – Approaching the 700m, contacted on the hindquarters and became badly unbalanced behind.

 
Race 5: AQUIS 2025 SAFETY NET MAIDEN PLATE         1400 Metres

ABRAHAM – Raced three-wide without cover for the majority. When questioned regarding his ride, rider A. Allen explained it was the intention to lead, and although the gelding began well, it was not able to clear inside runners, which were pushing forward early and consequently was obliged to race wide without cover. He added the gelding began to feel the ground over the latter stages and did not feel right in its action. Trainer N. Keal confirmed the intended tactics and noted the gelding being obliged to race wide without cover may have had an affect on its finishing effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery.
 
BLACK ASSASSIN – Raced keenly in the middle stages. Near the 300m, improved onto the heels of SEALORD and shifted in to obtain clear running.
 
WHAT DID YOU SAY – Began awkwardly.
 
GLAD I MET YOU – Underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection after having not started for an extended period of time.
 
SEALORD (NZ) – When being restrained in the early stages, raced ungenerously with its head up, and approaching the 1000m, steadied from the heels of WHAT DID YOU SAY (L. Dempsey), which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. Rider L. Dempsey was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding in this incident.
 
ALL TOO FOXY – Rider M. Wishart reported her mount raced keenly.
 
MISS CHAMONIX (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 

Race 6: MOUSE AND DILLO MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP           1200 Metres
 
GIVING DELIGHT – In the middle stages, raced keenly.
 
SINGLE TOUCH – Knuckled badly on jumping dislodging apprentice C. Bellamy. Apprentice Bellamy was cleared by QAS to fulfill her remaining engagements. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
BALTRAY – Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
VELOCE METEOR – Badly hampered on jumping. Raced three-wide without cover in the early stages.

 
Race 7: TAB FASTER VISION CLASS 3 HANDICAP         1400 Metres

HELL AND BACK – Slow to begin.
 
TESER – Near the 900m, laid in and contacted the rail.
 
ZOUSAIN BOLT – Rider L. Dempsey reported the gelding raced flat and was disappointing in its finishing effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
HOLLYWOOD EPIC – Raced three-wide without cover for the majority.
 
ITZA MOTZA – Approaching the 1200m, momentarily steadied when racing tight to the inside of HELL AND BACK. Near the 900m, laid in and contacted the rail.
 
ROSE OF SHIRAZ – When asked about her mount leading the race, apprentice B. Youngberry stated it was expected ZOUSAIN BOLT would lead and her mount would be placed handy, however; ROSE OF SHIRAZ began very well from a favourable gate and was able to take up the lead with little effort on her part. She added ROSE OF SHIRAZ then raced keenly in the lead. Co-trainer B. Rodgers confirmed the instructions, adding he was surprised to see the mare leading but noted how well it began from the gates.
 
SEA OF QI – Raced keen early.
 

Race 8: PROST @ AQUIS STALLIONS BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP       1800 Metres

LARIDAE – Shifted ground passing the 200m towards the rail.
 
WAGGA WAGGA (IRE) – Raced keen early.
 
VENOM WOLF – Slow to begin.
 
QUEEN OF TAYRONA – Trainer G. Nielsen was reprimanded pursuant to LR67(1) for the late declaration of rider. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from the offside nostril. Trainer G. Nielsen was advised of the provisions of AR79(8).
 
PRETTY RHO – When questioned regarding his riding of the mare, rider A.Goindasamy stated connections had advised to be mindful that PRETTY RHO may resent being restrained but to be forward. He said after beginning well, he sat outside TAKUNAI until approaching the 1000m where he allowed the mare to stride and take the lead. He further said he attempted to settle PRETTY RHO after obtaining the lead but the mare indicated it was keen to run, and considering the advice of connections, he allowed PRETTY RHO to stride freely. He added it was not surprising the mare weakened after straightening.
 
BORN TO BE ALIVE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after racing at Kilcoy on Tuesday the 7th of October.
 
BIANCO NERO – Slow to begin.
