He added that his mount never travelled well throughout and when placed under pressure prior to the 600m failed to respond and in his opinion was most disappointing. Trainer B. McLachlan’s stable representative will be advised to report to the stewards in the days subsequent to the event anything that comes to light that may explain the performance. Race 8: XXXX AS GOOD AS GOLD CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1690M.
1st – Supreme Agenda 2nd – Golders Road 3rd – Matzumi 4th – Malkovich

On return to scale, jockey B. Payne, the rider of 2nd placegetter GOLDERS ROAD, lodged an objection against SUPREME AGENDA (O. Turpin) being declared the winner, alleging interference over the final 200m. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the official film of the race, stewards found that near the 200m both GOLDEN SPICE (S. Drake) and GOLDERS ROAD were disappointed for a run between HARRY’S CHOICE (G. Baker) and SUPREME AGENDA where there was insufficient room, resulting in GOLDERS ROAD shifting out and being steadied off the heels of SUPREME AGENDA. Stewards therefore dismissed B. Payne’s objection and declared correct weight on the numbers semaphored by the Judge. In this incident GOLDEN SPICE had to be steadied and altered course to the inside of GOLDERS ROAD to obtain clear running.
