Race 1: XXXX Rising Star Of Sport Danielle Lindsay Maiden Plate - 1800m.
1st - Battle At Sea 2nd - Luckiest 3rd - Miss Umatilla 4th - Chelseann
MACHTIG BELLATRIST (C. Spry) was slowly away.
LUCKIEST (A. Pattillo) jumped outwards at the start, making contact with WIDGET (N. Day).
Approaching the 1100m., MISS UMATILLA (A. Best) had to be eased off the heels of WIDGET, which commenced to hang in and proceeded to do so for the remainder of the race.
Nearing the home turn, WIDGET again hung in on to BATTLE AT SEA (L. Roberts).
Race 2: XXXX Rising Star Of Sport Alex Bannon 3yo H'cap - 1000m.
1st - Geeteehaycho 2nd - Crystal Joe 3rd - Top's Lad 4th - Kalinga Emma
EIGHT RELIC was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon at the barriers and passed fit to start.
GEETEEHAYCHO (A. Pattillo) jumped awkwardly.
SIMPLE INTEREST (R. Plumb) also jumped awkwardly, shifted out and had to be checked off the heels of TOP'S LAD (M. Gray).
Approaching the 600m., EIGHT RELIC (C. Whiteley), which was racing greenly, shifted in abruptly.
GEETEEHAYCHO raced very greenly from the 400m. and shifted in on 2 occasions when struck with the whip.
TOP'S LAD (M. Gray) and SIMPLE INTEREST (R. Plumb) were forced to race wide throughout.
Race 3: QRSE XXXX Rising Star Of Sport Chelsea Mackenzie Class 1 H'cap - 1000m.
1st - Jackpot Jazz 2nd - Going Steady 3rd - Cota Waribl 4th - First Things First
CENOOK jumped away awkwardly making contact with the barrier partition, resulting in T. Maeda's left leg slipping from the stirrup iron. T. Maeda did not regain the use of that iron for some distance. In this incident, CENOOK shifted in, tightening the running of RAINBOW EXPRESS (P. Hammersley).
Approaching the 800m., CENOOK was inclined to lay in and away from SPLENDID SEQUENCE (T. Treichel), resulting in RAINBOW EXPRESS (P. Hammesley), which was racing back and to its inside, having to be steadied.
Near the 600m., JACKPOT JAZZ (M. Rice) shifted in of its own accord, making heavy contact with the running rail.
SPLENDID SEQUENCE (T. Treichel and FIRST THINGS FIRST (J. Taylor) were forced to race wide throughout.
T. Maeda, rider of the 5th placegetter, CENOOK, was reprimanded for failing to weigh in.
Race 4: XXXX Rising Star Of Sport Jesse Carver Maiden H'cap - 1200m.
1st - King Lyphard 2nd - Forantwenty 3rd - Lion Kingdom 4th - Teco
WOODWIND AND BRASS (L. Deguara) began awkwardly.
NOBLE TONE (A. Best) was tightened for room at the start between MILGARA (D. Griffin) and ROYAL SEQUENCE (D. Hawkes), which shifted out.
Approaching the 800m., BUDDING ROSE (J. Taylor) had to be eased off the heels of FORANTWENTY (G. Farrer) when the pace slowed.
DAD'S SONG (D. Stanley) and TECO (P. Hammersley) raced 3 wide until home turn.
LADY JACKOLINE, which was making a respiratory noise following the race, was scoped by the club's veterinary surgeon and found to have displaced its palate.
Race 5: XXXX Rising Star Of Sport Ryan Campbell Class 4 H'cap - 1600m.
1st - Tinybow 2nd - Pedro's Amaizing 3rd - Just Browsing 4th - Raja Prince
AIDAN JAMES (M. Cant) and SAGIT HERO (P. Hammersley) brushed at the start.
DREAM OF YOU (T. Pannell) jumped in the air at the start and was slow to begin, and then raced 3 wide from approaching the 600m. to the home turn.
At approximately the 1100m., TINYBOW (C. Whiteley) had to be eased off the heels of PEDRO'S AMAIZING (J. Byrne), which began to overrace when the pace slowed.
SAGIT HERO commenced to hang out on the home turn.
TINYBOW was obliged to raced wide from the 1100m. until the home turn.
A post race veterinary examination of AIDAN JAMES, which performed poorly, failed to reveal any abnormalities and a swab sample was taken.
Race 6: XXXX Rising Stars Class 2 H'cap - 1200m.
1st - Carry On Ace 2nd - Cha Cha D'Amour 3rd - Clear Strategy 4th - Jade City
Trainer L. Logan was fined $200 for presenting FIREFOOT REGAL to the enclosure wiht incorrect gear.
Carry On Ace (A. Best) jumped outwards at the start, making contact with the hind quarters of CHA CHA D'AMOUR (T. Treichel).
FIREFOOT REGAL (R. Plumb) was slow into stride and made contact with CARINA DONNA (A. Pattillo), which shifted outwards.
Near the 650m., JADE CITY (K. Pope) shifted in when insufficiently clear of CARINA DONNA (A. Pattillo), resulting in CARINA DONNA having to be steadied. Following an inquiry, K. Pope was reprimanded and reminded of his obligations to be at least 2 lengths clear when shifting ground.
Race 7: QRSE XXXX Rising Star Of Sport Sam Bennett Open H'cap - 1200m.
1st - Shockeroo 2nd - Mighty Crossing 3rd - Nip Of Spirit 4th - Jestica
JESTICA, which struck its head in the barriers, was removed from the gates, examined by the club's veterinary surgeon and passed fit to take its place in the field. Due to a misunderstanding, the on-course radio broadcaster announced to all relays that JESTICA had been declared a late scratching. Immediately following the event and prior to correct weight being declared, stewards advised all relays that JESTICA was a confirmed runner. Correct weight was then declared on the Judge's placings. Following an inquiry, no finding was made by stewards placing responsibility on any one party, however procedures were put in place to prevent a recurrence.
AMAIZCAY (C. Kearney) was slow to begin.
JESTICA (C. Whiteley) jumped outwards at the start, making contact with NIP OF SPIRIT (A. Pattillo).
PITCH BLACK (C. Eaton) raced 3 wide from near the 1000m. until the home turn.
Race 8: XXXX Rising Star Of Sport Kurt Wimmer Class 1 H'cap - 1400m.
1st - Star Of Nediym 2nd - Course He's Canny 3rd - Congregate 4th - Reach
Near the 1000m., THE TACTITIONER (M. Dickson) began to overrace near the rear of the field.
TANK'S FULL was obliged to race 3 wide from the 700m..
At the 300m., TANK'S FULL (L.Appo) began to race awkwardly, shifted in and made heavy contact with STAR OF NEDIYM. Shorlty after, TANK'S FULL again shifted in abruptly, almost dislodging L. Appo, following which TANK'S FULL took no further part in the race. TANK'S FULL was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon and found to be distressed and making loud respiratory noises. Trainer D. Critch was advised that TANK'S FULL must trial satisfactorily on two occasions prior to its next race start, as well as providing a full veterinary clearence, including the results of a ECG and scoping examination.
