SUPPLEMENTARY REPORTS

As A. Best, D. Green, S. Apthorpe and L. Morrison were indisposed, riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet.


Race 1: Hot 91.1 QTIS 2yo Maiden H’cap – 1000m
1st – True Diehard 2nd – Rocker Arm 3rd – Galangal 4th – Mulga Bob

FIRSTCLASS HONOURS (M. Rodd) was tightened for room on jumping away between ROADSTER (B. Pengelly) and MOUNTAIN DEVIL (O. Turpin), which shifted out and away from FEARLESS PREDATOR (A. Spinks).

VAINROC (J. Byrne) and BIT OF JOY (T. Huxham) were slow to begin.

Leaving the 700m, TRUE DIEHARD (S. Katsidis) had to be steadied off the heels of FEARLESS PREDATOR, which shifted out when being restrained off the heels of BLAZE OF RORY (M. Morris).

Near the 600m, FEARLESS PREDATOR blundered.

Leaving the 250m, SAMSOON (M. Carson) hung in and continued to do so for the remainder of the event.

Leaving the 100m, FIRSTCLASS HONOURS (M. Rodd) had to be steadied off the heels of BLAZE OF GLORY (M. Morris), which shifted in whilst under pressure. M. Morris, rider of BLAZE OF GLORY, was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

A post race veterinary examination of FEARLESS PREDATOR revealed the filly to have sustained a laceration to the near fore canon.

Race 2: Kings Beach Plasterers Maiden H’cap – 1000m
1st – Ben’s The Boss 2nd – Monashee Prince 3rd – Keverne 4th – Silva Razz

KEVERNE, which reared and became cast in the barrier stall, was examined by the club’s veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.

LIGHT OF DARKNESS (B. Pengelly) was slow to begin.

RAISE THE SOUND (A. Pattillo) jumped outwards at the start and made heavy contact with GEE GEE (N. Thomas), which in turn shifted out and bumped PANIC STATION (S. Shield).

CAVIALE (M. Hughes) jumped away awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, ARCALEH (R. McMahon) was forced to race in restricted room between SANACTIAL (B. Stewart) and SHE’S OUR GEM (D. Griffin), which shifted out.

Near the 700m, GALACTIC SENSATION (J. Taylor) commenced to hang out, placing SHEPHERD’S RULE (O. Turpin) in restricted room to the inside of GEE GEE.

ARCALEH (R. McMahon) was momentarily held up for clear running upon straightening.

S. Shield, rider of PANIC STATION, dropped his whip near the 250m.

PANIC STATION raced wide throughout.

Race 3: FTI Landscape Maintenance Maiden 3yo & Up Plate (1) – 1400m
1st – Red Shadow 2nd – Just Jeddah 3rd – nYoudidntseeme 4th – Kalinga Regal

PICARING was declared a late scratching at 9.10 a.m. on veterinary advice.

RING OF LIGHT, which became fractious and broke through the barriers and galloped for some distance, was declared a late scratching at 12.29 pm on veterinary advice. Subsequent to the event, all monies invested on RING OF LIGHT were ordered to be refunded, with deductions of 30 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets and 20 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets. Trainer P. Duff was advised that he must obtain a further barrier certificate for RING OF LIGHT prior to its next race start.

STABLE GOSSIP (N. Thomas) was slow to begin.

At the 600m, YOUDIDNTSEEME (A. Spinks) shifted out and made contact with LITTLE DECISIONS (J. Byrne).

Near the 50m, ARMAIZES (R. McMahon) had to be steadied when YOUDIDNTSEEME shifted in. In this incident, ARMAIZES made contact with ROYAL REFRAIN (T. Huxham).

LITTLE DECISIONS raced wide throughout.

Race 4: FTI Landscape Maintenance Maiden 3yo & Up Plate (2) – 1400m
1st – Secrets Untold 2nd – Whereyagunago 3rd – Little Missy Maroo 4th – General’s Brother

SUAVE SAM (C. Kearney), MARTELLATO (J. Warrington), LAKOTA BELLE (R. McMahon) AND BOLD ACT (B. Johnson) were all slow to begin.

Leaving the 1100m, BOLD ACT (B. Johnson) had to be steadied when momentarily tightened for room by SECRETS UNTOLD (A. Pattillo), which shifted in. BOLD ACT then commenced to overrace and did so until leaving the 900m.

Approaching the 100m, HOLYFIELD (S. Shield) shifted out to improve and in doing so made heavy contact with RAMBO STAR (R. Mason), which became unbalanced and had to be steadied.

As N. Thomas, rider of the 2nd placegetter, Whereyangunago, was dislodged after the winning post and unable to weigh in following the event, stewards, acting under the powers of AR142, declared correct weight.

Race 5: Tuscany Syndicate Class 1 H’cap – 1200m
1st – Mazacar 2nd – Streets Of Fire 3rd – Proud Hunter 4th – Nepro

On jumping away, SLUGGER (P. Edwards), IN A WHIRL (J. Warrington) and STREETS OF FIRE (T. Huxham) were all tightened for room between GOLDEN DOOR (M. Carson) and FOR CERTAIN (B. Thomson), both of which shifted ground.

PROUD HUNTER (K. Pope) jumped outwards at the start, taking ASSERTIVE PRINCE (A. Merritt) out on to MICHAELWIN.

PRIMARY (M. Rodd) raced ungenerously in the early stages.

M. Morris, rider of MAZACAR, dropped his whip at the 250m.

Leaving the 450m, SANDY’S REWARD (O. Turpin) had to be steadied after attempting to take a narrow run between PRIMARY and GOLDEN DOOR where there was doubtful room.

PRIMARY (M. Rodd), MY MILLIONAIRE (M. Hughes) and FOR CERTAIN (B. Thomson) all raced wide throughout.
Race 6: Kings Beach Plasterers Class 1 H’cap – 1800m
1st – Hooker Road 2nd – Mr Chewy 3rd – King Lyphard 4th – Granadora

At the 1700m, ARROWIN (M. Rodd) shifted in and accidentally struck the heels of JUST PEACHES (M. Rice) and blundered.

EL ABANICO (J. Holder) was slow to begin.

Leaving the 400m, MR CHEWY (S. Shield) shifted out to improve and in doing so made contact with KING LYPHARD (B. Stewart).

Near the 100m, SHADY AFFAIR (S. Katsidis) had to be steadied when momentarily tightened for room by MR CHEWY (S. Shield), which shifted in. S. Shield, rider of MR CHEWY, was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

Stewards questioned apprentice C. Parish, rider of the winner HOOKER ROAD, as to the reason he returned to scale in excess of half a kilogram over his declared riding weight. After taking evidence from C. Paris and trainer Mr A. Jones, stewards accepted the explanations and no action was taken.

Race 7: Greg Kennedy Sunshine Racing Class 2 H’cap – (1) – 1400mn
1st – William Street 2nd – Picaduke 3rd – Telemont 4th – Aisin

Trainer S. Dwyer was fined $100 for failing to declare riders for MARLEON and SANTI by the prescribed time.

ALL MUSCLE (K. Pope) reared on jumping away and lost ground.

Near the 800m, NOW YOU SEE IT (R. Martin) improved up on to the heels of TELEMONT (M. Radecker) and had to be steadied.

SHALE SHAKER (A. Pattillo) commenced to hang out leaving the 800m and continued to do so for the remainder of the event. This resulted in A. Pattillo being unable to fully test that horse. Trainer C. Pollard was advised that SHALE SHAKER must trial to the satisfaction of the stewards before its next race start.

RISING SUCCESS (S. Drake) shifted in of its own accord and made contact with the running rail at the 800m and again near the 650m.

Rounding the home turn, DARFUR (J. Taylor) shifted out and made contact with ALL MUSCLE.

On the home turn, NOW YOU SEE IT had to be steadied when momentarily tightened for room between GOGGLER (O. Turpin) and GOOD OPINION (A. Merritt), which shifted out to improve.

S. Drake, rider of RISING SUCCESS, was reprimanded for allowing her mount to shift out leaving the 200m, resulting in GOGGLER having to be steadied to avoid that horse’s heels.

Leaving the 100m, MARLEON (M. Rodd), after being taken in initially by GOGGLER, continued to shift in, resulting in that horse making contact with NOW YOU SEE IT, which in turn shifted in, taking RISING SUCCESS in on to MONTE ABBEY (B. Stewart).
Race 8: Greg Kennedy Sunshine Racing Class 2 H’cap – (2) – 1400mn
1st – Gotcha Covered 2nd – Big Mick 3rd – Santi 4th – Pubhorse

Trainer M. Lakey was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for SNOW DESTINY by the prescribed time.

APPROVED was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 3.16 p.m. after sustaining an injury to its near fore foot after dislodging a plate. Subsequent to the event all monies invested on APPROVED were ordered to be refunded, with deductions of 6 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets, 7 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets.

CIAO FOR NOW (C. Parish) jumped away awkwardly.

SOLITAIRE GEM (C. Whiteley) was slow to begin.

Approaching the 1100m, CIAO FOR NOW commenced to overrace and shifted out when being restrained off the heels of GOTCHA COVERED (J. Holder), which shifted in.

SOLITAIRE GEM and SANTI (A. Pattillo) raced wide throughout.

Race 9: Reed Property Group Glasshouse Prelude Open H’cap – 1300m
1st – Orpington 2nd – Tropical Express 3rd – Chasin’ Tail 4th – Tantat Secret

Leaving the 800m, TANTAT SECRET (J. Holder) shifted in momentarily, making slight contact with LITTLE KHAMSIN (M. Morris). Shortly after, LITTLE KHAMSIN shifted in despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in TROPICAL EXPRESS (A. Pattillo) having to be checked. As stewards were of the opinion no rider error was involved, no action was taken.

Near the 650m, KARA GEORGE (M. Rice) shifted in and made contact with the rail. ALLY BEE (J. Byrne), which was following, was obliged to shift out to avoid that horse’s heels and in doing had to be steadied off the heels of TELEGRAND (R. McMahon).

A post race veterinary examination of ORPINGTON revealed the gelding to have suffered a bleeding attack. Trainer T. Pike was advised that ORPINGTON will be barred from racing for a period of 3 months.

Race 10: Tuscany Syndicate Class 4 H’cap – 1600m
1st – Natural Glamour 2nd – Mr Beanwater 3rd – Prend 4th – Merry Pierce

PRINCE PUZZLE (A. Pattillo) and THE FITTER (A. Merritt) were slow to begin.

C. Whiteley, rider of BATTLE AT SEA, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that approaching the 800m he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of NATURAL GLAMOUR (J. Holder), resulting in that mare being taken in on to THE FITTER (A. Merritt), which had to be checked when tightened on to the running rail. C. Whiteley was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 meetings, to commence at midnight, 18 June and to expire at midnight, 28 June 2006.
