Stewards permitted the following overweights:

As Jockey L. Tarrant and N. Tomizawa were not riding today due to illness, rider replacements were made as per the Race Day Summary.
 
Trainer P. Jenkins was fined $300 pursuant to LR 36(6)(a) for failing to scratch RENOUF which was a dual acceptor out of one of those races within the prescribed time.
 
Race 1: COASTLINE BMW 1 QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP 1600 M
 
RINGER'S REWARD – Over raced in the early stages when the pace slackened. Shifted out to improve near the 600m and became awkward in its action. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Jockey B. Thompson reported that in his opinion the horse felt flat footed when asked to quicken near the 500m, however worked home well in the final 100m. He further added that a step up to a mile and the 7 day back up may have contributed to it being somewhat flat footed when asked for an effort. Trainer K. Kemp reported that it was now his intention to give the filly a short freshen up. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
MY SPY – Over raced in the early stages when the pace slackened.
 
THE LITTLE SPARROW – Over raced in the early stages when the pace slackened. Lost its near hind plate in running.
 
Race 2: COASTLINE BMW IX1 QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP 1000 M
 
LEAD ME ON – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped MISHY. Laid in under pressure during the early stages of the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be severely heat stressed.
 
EL MORZILLO – Raced wide throughout.
 
MISHANI BURN – Slow to begin.
 
DREAM SMART – Jockey M. Harley advised that in his opinion the filly didn’t appreciate the quick back up and the drop back in distance. Trainer L. Birchley advised Stewards that the filly would now be going for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
CHAMPAGNE ROUGE – Slow to begin.
 
KAYTEE WISDOM – Raced greenly in the middle stages.
 
MISHY – Bumped on jumping by LEAD ME ON. Raced greenly throughout.
 
Race 3: COASTLINE BMW IX2 CLASS 3 PLATE         1000 M
 
ORLABENT – Raced wide throughout.
 
REGAL EDITION – Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid in from the 300m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the forehead.
 
THIS IS ONE – Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight.
 
DIRTY DANCING – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Approaching the 350m, disappointed for a run between ROSE OF SHIRAZ and REGAL EDITION which shifted out. Jockey J. Huxtable, rider of REGAL EDITION was advised to exercise greater care in future.
 
SIX SIDES – Approaching the 100m had to be steadied after improving onto the heels of THIS IS ONE which was racing green.
 
EVERLASTING STARS – Slow to begin. Lost near-fore plate in running.
 
Following the running of Race 3, the track was upgraded to a Good 4.
 
Race 4: COASTLINE BMW IX BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP 1600 M
 
CHERNAK (FR) – Raced keenly in the middle stages however was under pressure from the 600m and tired badly in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stable representative B. Killion advised that he would report back to Stewards if anything may come to light in the subsequent days that had a bearing on todays performance.
 
MOB BUSTER – Approaching the 200m had to be steadied from heels when MOTELL shifted out under pressure.
 
COCOBREW EXPRESS – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
TOO MUCH CLASS – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be mildly heat stressed.
 
TUBTHUMPER – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be moderately heat stressed.
 
COUNT THE COIN – Shortly after entering the home straight was inclined to lay in and was steadied from the heels of WINSTON SMURFHILL (NZ).
 
SIZZLING GAL – Raced wide throughout.
 
MOTELL – Slow to begin. Over raced in the middle stages.
 
Race 5: COASTLINE BMW XM QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP 1000 M
 
BOSSED UP – Approaching the 800m, commenced to hang out and when restrained from the heels of HIGHBAR, over raced and became unbalanced, following this incident continued to over race until the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be heat stressed.
 
LADY INVADER – Laid in under pressure from the 400m onwards and near the 150m shifted in and bumped with SPIRIT OF BRODIE.
 
SPIRIT OF BRODIE – Laid out and bumped LADY INVADER near the 150m.
 
VINDICTA – Raced in restricted room near the 600m.
 
CONSTANT CAFÉ – Forced wide near the 800m when BOSSED UP shifted out and raced wide from that point onwards.
 
Race 6: COASTLINE BMW X2 OPEN HANDICAP         1000 M
 
ROMAN AUREUS – Slow to begin.
 
WINSIDE – Slow to begin. Cast its near fore plate in running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled bilaterally on the second occasion and to have minor lacerations on its near foreleg. Acting under AR 79(6), Trainer D. Batters was advised that WINSIDE is no longer eligible to race in Australia and would incur a lifetime ban.
 
GOLDEN BOOM – Jockey B. Thompson reported the gelding travelled well until asked for an effort in the home straight and proved disappointing when placed under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery. Trainers representative B. Cavanaugh advised Stewards he would report back with the gelding’s recovery in the subsequent days.
 
JEMELDI – When asked to comment on today’s performance, Jockey K. Wilson-Taylor stated that he had asked the horse to quicken in the early stages and the gelding over raced in the middle stages as a result and was of the opinion this had an effect on the horse’s finishing effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be mildly heat stressed.
 
WANDA ROX – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
NORTHERN EXPRESS – When questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance, Trainer M. Nolan stated that the gelding trialled well prior to resuming from the spell, he further added that he removed the blinkers and tongue tie and was confident the horse would perform well as the horse has previously performed well at this track and distance.
 
Race 7:COASTLINE BMW X3 BENCHMARK 85 HANDICAP         1800 M
 
AUSSIE NUGGET (IRE) – Slow to begin. Near the 1200m, forced wider and raced wide whilst improving forward until obtaining a position one off the fence near the 700m. Laid in under pressure during the early stages of the home straight.
 
STAR OF MICHELIN – Significantly slow to begin.
 
NOAH 'N' A DEEL – When asked to comment on today’s performance, Jockey M. Rodd stated that the mare felt flat footed when the pace of the race quickened at the 900m. Trainer G. Doughty advised Stewards the mare would now be going for a spell.
 
TONY BE – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be significantly dehydrated.
 
SOUTHERN STOCK (NZ) – Slow to begin. Over raced in the early and middle stages before shifting wider when leaving the 1200m to be ridden forward to a position outside the lead passing the 900m.  
 
GALIFIANAKIS (IRE) – Trainer J. Bruce advised a change of tactics and advised Stewards that GALIFIANAKIS (IRE) would be ridden further forward if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly.
 
Race 8:COASTLINE BMW SUNSHINE COAST CUP – LISTED 1400 M
 
MASTER JAMIE – Raced wide until the 700m. Whilst weakening, was obliged to steady to avoid the heels of TIGER LEGEND which shifted out under pressure.
 
EF TROOP – Approaching the 100m, whilst weakening, raced in restricted room.
 
KINLOCH – Held up for clear running from approaching the 500m and until leaving the 300m.
 
LEGAL ESPRIT – Raced wide throughout. Approaching the 200m, had to be checked when placed in restricted room between JETTY, which shifted out after being corrected by its rider and ESSONNE which shifted in under riding. Jockey J. Huxtable, rider of ESSONNE was reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(a) for this incident. When issuing the reprimanded, Stewards were mindful of the contribution of Jockey J. Bayliss’ horse shifting ground.
 
CHATTY LADY – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
JETTY – Raced wide throughout.
 
WAPITI – Slow to begin. Lost near hind plate in running.
 
CONSTANT FLIGHT – Whilst weakening, was obliged to race in restricted room approaching the 300m until near the 250m. Stewards accepted Trainer L. Gough’s explanation for his late rider declaration and took no further action.
 
THE ELANORA – Began awkwardly. After being held up rounding the home turn, shifted wider passing the 400m and contacted LEGAL ESPRIT on a number of occasions in an attempt to shift that horse wider and secure clear running. After being unable to obtain clear running, was obliged to steady from heels approaching the 300m and continued to be unable to secure clear running until approaching the 200m. Leaving the 100m became unbalanced, shifted in, and contacted PENTITO.
 
HOLLYWOOD NORTH – Leaving the 200m, was disappointed for a run between CHATTY LADY and THE DROVER.
 
THE DROVER – Approaching the 100m, whilst weakening was momentarily inconvenienced by CHATTY LADY which shifted out under pressure. Jockey K. Wilson Taylor was advised to stop and straighten his mounts earlier than in this occasion.
 
TARA JASMINE – Slow to begin. Improved onto heels approaching the 250m and was held up until leaving the 200m.
 
PENTITO – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and remained held up until being steadied from the heels of LEGAL ESPRIT. Leaving the 100m, contacted THE ELANORA which became unbalanced and shifted in.
 
Race 9:COASTLINE BMW 3 CLASS 6 HANDICAP (4YO ONLY QTIS BONUSES APPLICABLE) 1200 M
 
SAILOR'S SECRET – Hampered after the start and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be heat stressed.
 
REJOICED – Laid in for the majority of the event, particularly when under pressure in the home straight.
 
WIN BURN – Obliged to be significantly pressured during the early stages in order to cross to the lead near the 800m. Lost its near hind plate.
 
ZOUMETEOR – Jockey J. Orman stated that his mount travelled well throughout until placed under pressure in the home straight and proved disappointing in its finishing effort.
 
RENOUF – Held up rounding the home turn and had difficulty securing clear running until the 300m.
 
VIMINELE – Slow to begin.
 
HEROIC MISS – Held up rounding the home turn and until the 350m.
 
Race 10:COASTLINE BMW 4 BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP         1400 M
 
ZHUANG SHI – Jockey R. Maloney reported at scale that his mount raced flat throughout and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
GRECIAN LASS – Bumped after the start. Raced wide throughout.
 
HADOUKEN – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
MISHANI MISSILE – Raced wide throughout.
 
CHARLIE'S CASE – Over raced in the early stages. Jockey M. Du Plessis reported his mount had a tendency to lay out during the race.
 
O'MISS BEHAVING – Began awkwardly.
 
WHISTLING SPIRIT – Began awkwardly and bumped with GRECIAN LASS. Jockey M. Cahill reported that it was not his intention to lead, however, when caught wide in the early stages, was ridden forward from the 1100m in order to obtain the lead passing the 800m.
 
LADY LE DA – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and continued to be held up for clear running until leaving the 100m.
 
TIME TO TESTIFY – Raced wide for the majority.
