RACE 1:       BURNETT CARRYING / BURNETT FAMILY MAIDEN PLATE 800 M

LORD VALEN – commenced to lay in when placed under pressure passing the 200 metres; ducked in abruptly near the 100 metres, hampering OVER THE FIRE. Withstood protest for 2nd place.
RISING RUBY – shifted out abruptly on jumping and then lost ground; failed to stay in contact through the early stages when resenting the kick-back.
PARTY ISLAND - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and passed fit to run, having raced at Emerald on Tuesday 23rd September 2025
EMBEZZLES – travelled wide throughout.
WEBS – raced greenly rounding the final turn when near the rail and racing through kick-back.
OVER THE FIRE – hampered near the 100 metres and had to steady. On returning to scale Ms. Emma Bell, rider of third placed OVER THE FIRE, lodged an objection against 2nd placed LORD VALEN alleging interference near the 100 metres. On the evidence it was established that passing the 120 metres, LORD VALEN which was improving to the outside of OVER THE FIRE shifted in abruptly resulting in Ms. Bell having to steady OVER THE FIRE for several strides. In assessing the matter, it was determined that notwithstanding Ms. Bell being hampered for a short distance, and had the interference not occurred, OVER THE FIRE would not have beaten LORD VALEN and accordingly the objection was dismissed and correct weight declared.
PICNIC BLANKET – proved slow to load – warning placed on barrier manners; travelled wide for the majority.
PLAY IT AS IT LAYS – very slow to begin, lost ground through the middle stages and effectively all chance. When questioned, apprentice Jaimee-Lee Devine reported that the mare had resented the kick-back and had refused to stretch out in consequence. Given all circumstances a warning was placed on the mares’ racing manners.

BUTE MOVES – began very awkwardly and hung out.
LULO ROSE – travelled wide throughout.
LADY CONSORT – proved difficult to load and delayed the start; slow to leave the barriers and settled well back; connections were advised that a final warning had been placed on the mare’s barrier manners.

RACE 3:        BULLIWALAH CLASS B HANDICAP 1100 M

TUCK – outpaced through the middle stages.n

RACE 4:       MT DOUGLAS LADIES BRACELET OPEN HANDICAP 1100 M

DEVIL DEVIL – began awkwardly however recovered quickly; then shortly after went off-stride and attempted to buck for several strides losing ground. When questioned, Apprentice Tom Orr stated that in his opinion DEVIL DEVIL had been uncomfortable on today’s racing surface, and when being ridden forward to hold his position shortly after the start, the gelding had gone off stride and attempted to buck for a short distance, this resulting in him getting back in the field. Apprentice Orr then added that after being struck with kick back DEVIL DEVIL had refused to stretch out until able to obtain clearer running wider out, where he then finished the race off well. A post-race veterinary examination DEVIL DEVIL revealed no obvious abnormalities. Given all circumstances, including this being DEVIL DEVIL’s first run on dirt, a warning was placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
PENNYPACKER – slow in the early stages and got back.

RACE 5:        DISNEY STEAKS QTIS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1570 M

THREE GONGS – underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and passed fit to run, having raced at Emerald on Tuesday 23rd September 2025.
READY TO PARDON – Apprentice Aime Meissner accidently dropped her whip passing the 150 metres.
MR CALEB – Slow to leave the barriers then lost contact with the balance of the field in the early and middle stages. When questioned apprentice Shakira Bailey reported that after striking considerable kick-back the gelding lost momentum and struggled to regain the ground lost.
