SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT


GENERAL
As Jockey A Baker was indisposed and Jockey T Chambers was unavailable, stewards permitted rider replacements as per the stewards race day summary.

Race 1: GREAT NORTHERN QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1300 metres

FIRE KING – When questioned in regard to the performance of FIRE KING, Jockey A. Butler stated that he was under no instructions but was of the opinion that the gelding is better suited racing with cover. He added after the eventual winner BLUE JACKET improved passing the 700m, he was able to obtain cover, but in doing so FIRE KING failed to respond to his riding rounding the turn allowing BLUE JACKET to gain a considerable distance entering the straight.

BLUE JACKET – Overraced in the early and middle stages.

MISHANI DREAMER – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight.

TELL THE WORLD – Raced wide throughout the event. Apprentice A. Ross was fined $200 under the provision of AR211(1) for returning to scale more than half a kilogram overweight. Apprentice A. Ross was also fined $100 under the provision of AR185 for changing her riding boots following weighing out.

Race 2: ST PETER'S CAULFIELD CUP SATURDAY 16 OCTOBER Class 2 Handicap 1800 metres

TRAQ – Laid in under pressure in the straight.

EXELANT MOSH – Overraced in the early and middle stages.

AUSSIE TYCOON – Overraced in the middle stages.

Race 3: CHRISTMAS AT CALLAGHAN PARK Maiden Handicap 1200 metres

SCANDINA – Apprentice A. Ross was fined $200 under the provision of AR143(14)(a) for failing to fulfil her full claim. Apprentice A. Ross was fined $300 under the provision of AR211(1) for returning to scale more than half a kilogram overweight.

ADDRESS UNKNOWN – Raced green when placed under pressure in the straight.


Race 4: PROSTATE CANCER AWARENESS MONTH BENCHMARK 70
Handicap 1400 metres

PROANE – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin.

BANGERS AND MAYO – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Laid in rounding the home turn.

VELARO – Overraced in the early and middle stages.

BROMES – Overraced in the early and middle stages.

Following the running of the event, Apprentice A Ross was examined by Queensland Ambulance Officers and was stood down from her remaining engagements. Apprentice Ross was advised that she would require a medical clearance.

Race 5: GRAEME ARTHUR DOUGAN MEMORIAL Class 3 Plate 1100 metres

KRAVITZ – Overraced in the early and middle stages.

HEYGERONIMO – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

NEW YORK WORLD – Laid in under pressure in the straight.

ZEBLAN – Slow to begin.

MORICONI – As Apprentice A. Ross was indisposed, stewards permitted Jockey D Simmons to ride 1.5kgs overweight as there was no other available rider who could make the weight. Overraced in the early and middle stages.


Race 6: YEPPOOON TURF CLUB APPRECIATION Class 1 Handicap 1300 metres

SOUL DANCER – Raced wide throughout the event. Rider A. Butler reported that his mount after being trapped wide, weakened noticeably and ran to the line in a disappointing manner. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

MATADOR – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

STORMWATER – Overraced in the early and middle stages.

MORATA – Rider reported that his mount failed to handle the track. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
