Near the 800m had to be restrained from the heels of KOONUNGA, which was taken in slightly by NEW ALLIANCE, which was also taken in by GIN ‘N’ BITTERS. Apprentice J. Huxtable, the rider of GIN ‘N’ BITTERS, was reprimanded and advised to provide his fellow riders with sufficient racing room in future. Soon afterwards AGGRAVATE galloped on FUSSDINADO, which rolled in, which resulted in FUSSDINADO becoming unbalanced and losing ground.

Trainer W. Hulbert advised that the horse had had an interrupted preparation and although it tired today, he is hoping that L’AMANTE will derive a fitness benefit from today’s race and he will have veterinary tests carried out in coming days, the results of which he will report to stewards.
