Began awkwardly. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding rider R Maloney stated with the addition of blinkers for the first time THE SHERPA over-raced and resented being restrained in the early stages which in his view resulted in the gelding weakening in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
