Left a rearward trailing position near the 1300 metres and progressed forward to race outside the leader near the 900 metres. When asked to comment on tactics adopted rider L Cassidy explained the gelding had been ridden in a similar fashion at its most recent starts and when the pace eased near the 1400 metres he elected to ride forward. Stable representative for M Kropp indicated it was the stable’s intention to continue with its current preparation. Stewards noted the explanation.
