When questioned as to the horse’s performance, jockey J. Orman stated that the gelding was slow to begin and was then slow to muster speed, despite his efforts, before eventually obtaining a position outside the leader near the 1100m. Jockey Orman added that the gelding did not travel comfortably at any stage and failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure leaving the 500m and proved disappointing. Jockey Orman was of the opinion that the gelding may perform better when kept fresh for its races. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
