In the early stages of the home straight was disappointed for a run between AMERICAN LOVE and THE GOOD THE BAD which shifted out slightly. A short distance later was again disappointed for a run to the inside of THE GOOD THE BAD and was obliged to shift out to obtain clear running.

Connections advised that the mare was to be ridden more forward today. Ridden accordingly. Near the 1000m had to be eased after improving onto the heels of LOCUST. Near the 200m was inconvenienced by PINEAPPLIE BOOM and shifted out.

When afforded the opportunity to comment on the performance, Jockey L. Dittman stated that the filly failed to travel comfortably throughout the event and proved disappointing. Co-Trainer B. Guy expressed his disappointment in the performance and indicated that he would experiment with a barrier blanket in an attempt to rectify the fillys barrier manners. He also noted that the filly may be better suited when able to improve to the outside of runners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities other than minor lacerations to the near hind hock.
