Rider J Orman reported the horse never travelled throughout the event and was disappointing. Mr M Morrison, stable representative for Trainer M Costa, advised the horse had worked well during the week and the stable was confident of a forward showing today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slower than normal recovery rate. A post-race swab sample was taken from DEFACTOR. Mr Morrison advised the stable would report back in the coming days any condition which may come to light to explain the disappointing performance.
