Z Lloyd, rider of SHANI AWARD, was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted. When asked to comment on the performance Z Lloyd advised the horse was inclined to over-race when leading adding that it was only having its third start in a race and SHANI AWARD may have not been suited to the step up to the 1666m of today’s event.
