Slow to begin. Weakened from the 600m taking no further competitive part in the event. Jockey N. Day advised that in his opinion his mount resented the tongue tie throughout today’s event and failed to respond when placed under pressure from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near hind leg. Trainer J. Wigginton was advised the gelding would require a veterinary clearance prior to returning to racing.
