When asked to comment on the performance, jockey M. Hellyer indicated that the horse did not travel comfortably at any stage of the race and weakened badly in the home straight. Trainer D. Vandyke confirmed his disappointment in the horse, adding he would look to retiring the horse from his stable. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
