Slow to begin. Raced wide from the 700m. Apprentice B. Nothdurft reported that the gelding became fractious in the barriers and, as a result, was slow to begin. Apprentice Nothdurft added that he elected to race 3 wide with cover leaving the 700m, at which time his mount was travelling well, however when asked to let down the gelding failed to respond and proved very disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards will interview Trainer Mr. L. Hatch in the coming days regarding the horse’s disappointing performance.
