Apprentice M. Murphy reported that his mount travelled strongly throughout when racing in the box seat. He added that when asked to improve into the race from the 400m the gelding failed to accelerate as he had expected and, in his opinion, was disappointing over the concluding stages. Trainer B. Currie expressed disappointment in the gelding’s finishing performance today. He added that, in light of this performance, he will now review the horse’s current preparation, and may consider sending it for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
