When asked to comment on the poor performance of the gelding, Rider stated she was able to lead as per her instructions after beginning only fairly and being ridden positively, adding further that the gelding raced keen in the middle stages and when asked for an effort from the 400m was found wanting. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
