VELOCE BELLA (9) was buried away on the pegs in a Gold Pot heat 2 starts back and hit the line in good order to be 10m from the winner OPONONIS BLISS. When looking to make her move from gate 12 she struck trouble in the final and lost all chance. With even luck she can arrive in time.
LIGHTHORSE (1) went straight to the front from gate 3 at Marburg last start and was able to control the speed in front to hold on for a 7m victory. That was his first win in over 18 months and his 1st in Qld and with the confidence of that and the good gate will be a big danger.
DONT BE JEALOUS (10) found her race here 2 starts back and from gate 8 rolled forward to the breeze and proved too strong in scoring a nice win. This is easier than her latest start and she has claims.
GOTOTHEMOON (6) can do plenty wrong in his races and last start did exactly that and was never in the hunt. That was his 1st run back from a break and with better manners can be in the mix.
SELECTIONS: VELOCE BELLA (9), LIGHTHORSE (1), DONT BE JEALOUS (10), GOTOTHEMOON (6)
SUGGESTED BET: VELOCE BELLA (9) to win
PARKLANE LASS (2) has been in the money at her past 3 starts all at AP and finds a race here to take full advantage of. Buried 3 back along the pegs last start she was hitting the line in good order to be 3m from the winner TAP IT IN. With the speed to take control she looks hard to stop.
FAKEROCKNROLL (8) held the pocket trail in a Gold Pot final last start and from there chased hard but just couldn’t match the late closing sprint. From this gate he can enjoy a nice trail through to find a handy position and will get his chance to challenge.
TAFFY BOY (4) hit the line nicely at Marburg last start to finish best of the chasing pack when 8m from the winner DONOMOOR. He can slide across to find position here and has place claims.
PETES PET ROCK (6) makes her Qld debut for the Darrel Graham barn and arrives without a placing in 5 career starts. She has a tricky draw to contend with and looks an exotic chance.
SELECTIONS: PARKLANE LASS (2), FAKEROCKNROLL (8), TAFFY BOY (4), PETES PET ROCK (6)
SUGGESTED BET: PARKLANE LASS (2) to win
MY WINGMAN (2) will strip fitter from his latest outing at Armidale when returning from a spell. The effort was solid from the peg line to finish 7m from the winner. With good early speed he can look to fire the first shot and take control from the front.
ARBIT MAJOR (3) has been close up his past 2 from tough gates when looking to offer a closing challenge. A winner her 4 starts back when finishing over the top from a 2nd line gate he then was hitting the line in good order from a long way back. Settling closer from the improved gate helps.
REDDY FIRE (5) was buried away looking for cheap runs after starting from wide on the 2nd line last start and never was a factor. A tidy winner here 5 starts back he has podium claims again here.
WEBBY VANDERQUACK (1) did the hard yards in the breeze at Armidale last start and fought on gamely to be 8m from the winner. With a cosy trip here she can look to offer when the gaps arrive.
SELECTIONS: MY WINGMAN (2), ARBIT MAJOR (3), REDDY FIRE (5), WEBBY VANDERQUACK (1)
SUGGESTED BET: MY WINGMAN (2) to win
MALONE (4) landed consecutive placings when doing his share of work in the run and then went to Marburg when start where he started fav but was never a factor on the tight track. His run was solid last start when facing the breeze and he can press ahead to take control here.
WILLSINTOWN (8) was a winner here 5 starts back when holding the front from gate 1 and taking them all the way. Runner-up in 3 of his next 4 starts, his latest effort was a nice run from gate 7 when able to find the pocket trail and finish within 2m of the winner. He is right in the fight.
IFYOUBLEIVE (6) has no favours from this gate but has placed at his past 3 in succession, the latest a nice effort when run down in the closing stages by the smart MUCH BETTOR. He has place claims.
NON PASSARE (7) will need some luck in transit as he looks set to be buried in the run here but he will find this easier than his past 2 in a Gold Pot series. 3rd in the heat to NEWPORT DREAMZ he will be probing for an opening.
SELECTIONS: MALONE (4), WILLSINTOWN (8), IFYOUBLEIVE (6), NON PASSARE (7)
BIG IN AMERICA (2) had been racing in good touch and worked home in good order to grab the bronze behind IM NORMA JEAN here 2 starts back. Last time out at AP she went straight to the front from gate 5 and was never troubled in front to score over the 2138m trip. Look for a repeat effort.
BIG BEAT (8) was a winner here 4 starts back when finding good position from gate 4 and then finishing over the top to score. Placed in all 3 runs since that victory, he latest was a nice effort when hitting the line strongly from after snagging back from gate 6. He is right in this.
LETHAL STAR (6) makes her 1st appearance in Qld since transferring to the Darrel Graham barn and arrives after her form has tapered off in her latest prep. With even luck from the gate she can place.
BOB GAGE (1) will enjoy the perfect trip here at his 1st run back from a freshen. He hit the line in good style last start from the 2nd line to grab the bronze and will be in the mix with the cosy trip.
SELECTIONS: BIG IN AMERICA (2), BIG BEAT (8), LETHAL STAR (6), BOB GAGE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: BIG IN AMERICA (2) to win
SHADOW HUNTER (10) was building towards a victory after placing in 3 successive starts including a late closing 1m 2nd at AP. He then found his race when scoring a narrow victory from a 2nd line gate after being sent forward to take control. Freshened since that win he can arrive in an open contest.
IFOUNDTHEBEACH (4) worked across to the breeze from gate 3 at Tamworth 2 starts back and proved too strong to score a 3m victory. Last start at Armidale his run was full of merit when wide off the track and closing out to get within 1m of the winner. With good early speed he is right in this.
MAHALO (1) found her race last start and from gate 1 over the 2138m trip went straight to the front and after a controlled opening 800m was too strong. From the good gate she will have the options.
TAP IT IN (3) made the most of his chances last start when the lead was on offer and scooting forward to take control was then able to dictate. Place in his 3 previous starts he will be right in the fight again.
SELECTIONS: SHADOW HUNTER (10), IFOUNDTHEBEACH (4), MAHALO (1), TAP IT IN (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-4-10
DARBY BRIGHTS (2) sat in the breeze here 5 starts back and went down swinging to finish just a nose from the winner. Turning the tables at her next start when scoring a 5m victory, her 3 runs since have all been from unsuitable gates yet she has still been able to place her past 2. This looks ideal.
ROWDYS ACE (3) rolled forward from gate 4 at Marburg last start and was working hard in the run when just fading the last 150m behind RIVERLEIGH JEFF. From this gate they can look to put him into the contest and if able to find the pegs he can give some cheek.
LYNNSANITY (7) made in 2 wins in his 3 Qld appearances last start at AP when able to get straight to the front and take control. He will need plenty of luck from this gate as he looks to get buried.
HEZ RAZOR SHARP (9) faces a big class drop here following his last start when he was looking to take them all the way when setting a strong tempo at AP. With even luck in transit he is a big danger.
SELECTIONS: DARBY BRIGHTS (2), ROWDYS ACE (3), LYNNSANITY (7), HEZ RAZOR SHARP (9)
SUGGESTED BET: DARBY BRIGHTS (2) to win
BONNIE JUJON (10) returned from a spell with a tidy performance from gate 7 when hitting the line strongly to finish 1.5m from the winner. Taken to Marburg last start she was able to control the race from the breeze and was too strong. Fitter from that outing she can finish over the top here.
THE BOYS GNP (9) makes his Qld debut for Ron Sallis and arrives a last start beaten fav at Newcastle when forced to do plenty of work in the run. He has been landing some wide gates in recent starts and forced to work home late but with the change of scenery and in this grade can go close.
PROJECTILE (6) has no favours from this gate but his recent efforts have been encouraging. He chased home for the silver last start from the pocket trail and with even luck has podium claims.
BLAZING VC (2) features in a stable change and will line up for Bianca Hooper for the 1st time. Too far back in the run last start, he can look to use his early speed to find the pegs and with the options thereafter is a place hope.
SELECTIONS: BONNIE JUJON (10), THE BOYS GNP (9), PROJECTILE (6), BLAZING VC (2)
SUGGESTED BET: BONNIE JUJON (10) to win
