14-race cards to be made permanent

Racing Queensland advise that the ongoing scheduling of 14-race card meetings at The Q have been approved in principle.

The meetings will become a permanent fixture on the racing calendar from December 2025 for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday race meetings, subject to sufficient nominations. 

The decision follows a successful trial that commenced in September 2025, during which RQ sought and considered feedback from stakeholders. 

This consultation, together with strong participation outcomes, has supported the permanent introduction of 14-race cards. 

To date, the trial has delivered an additional 59 races and over $200,000 in prize money and starter payments back to participants. 

These results demonstrate the initiative’s success in providing greater racing opportunities and increased prize money distribution for Queensland’s greyhound industry.
