He is one of the most enduring success stories out of Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale and although he is yet to have a Group 1 victory to his name, Yellow Brick has been nothing less than a legend for father and daughter training partners Tony and Maddysen Sears.

Bought for $20,000 at the Gold Coast sale in 2021, Yellow Brick has earned $3.45 million for the part-family ownership.

The six-year-old's latest win in the Magic Millions QTIS Open under lights at the Magic Millions Gold meeting on Saturday was as exciting as any of his eight other victories in his 27 starts.

It is all set to continue this weekend in the $2 million Magic Millions Cup.

"I'm speechless really," Maddysen Sears said of the performance on Saturday.

"He did what we expected him to do but to actually do it, yes.

"He has come through it super and you wouldn't even know that he had been around. He bounced onto the track this morning and hasn't missed a grain.

"We were a little but worried with other horses with lighter weights as light weights win races but, on his class, he carried nine kilograms more than the second and third horses.

"I think if the race was a little bit further, he'd probably have put them away even further."

James McDonald was aboard the gelding on Saturday, but Ethan Brown will take the ride this time.

Yellow Brick firmed into $5 and equal favouritism for the race following his latest outing.

The Sears' will also be represented by Steady Ready in the $1 million Magic Millions Snippets.

Steady Ready finished 10th in the Listed Bribie Handicap at Eagle Farm on December 13.

"He was found late first-up and he had a really good tick-over trial where he went very, very well," Maddysen Sears said.

"I think he is back to his best."

Steady Ready is rated a $34 chance with the Tony Gollan-trained Hidden Wealth the $3.50 favourite.

Meanwhile, Icarian Dream came up short in last year's Magic Millions 2YO Classic, but Ciaron Maher is happy to give her another shot at Gold Coast glory.

The daughter of Blue Point will contest this Saturday's $3 million Magic Millions 3YO Guineas.

The 1400 metre race will be run 12 months after she finished 12th as a $9 chance in the 2YO Classic, when she started from the outside alley.

While, she has a formidable force to contend with in Ninja, Maher is glad to be back with her.

"We were coming to the Gold Coast 2YO (Classic) full of confidence until the barrier draw (when) I think we got 20-something," Maher said.

"She's always been a horse with a lot of ability. Just two starts ago she ran well and it was then we thought, 'right, we'll aim up here at this this race'."
